In 1992, BMW launched the second generation of its M3 high-performance 3-Series with a new body style, chassis, and 6-cylinder S50 engine which offered an increase of nearly 100 HP over the original M3. This 1994 European-market example is said to have been professionally refinished in black before being imported from Japan by an authorized dealer in Ohio. Prior the seller's acquisition, a host of upgrades were carried out including the installation of a lightened flywheel, and front and rear strut braces. This meticulously maintained Euro-spec M3 is now being offered for auction out of Florida while showing approximately 147k kilometers (92k miles) on the odometer.

The M3 can be differentiated from a standard 3-Series by its aggressive lower front air dam, sculpted rockers, rounded aero mirrors, and lower rear diffuser with larger diameter exhaust tips. This example is said to have been stripped to bare metal and professionally refinished in its current shade of black in Japan before being imported to the United States. The seller adds that a 2-step paint correction and ceramic coating were performed in addition to full dry-ice cleaning of the undercarriage. Exterior details include pop-out quarter windows, Euro-spec glass headlights, front and rear fog lamps, and a power-operated sunroof.  A set of DS11 staggered wheels have also been refinished and mounted with Yokohama S Drive tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is appointed with black leather and highlighted by a pair of sought-after Vader sport seats with a Motorsport accent stripe on the backrests. Amenities include an onboard computer, an electric sunroof, power windows, central locking, cruise control, automatic climate control, and a new aftermarket Continental radio. The seller adds that a Dinan short shift kit has been installed along with a new shift knob, a new rear parcel shelf, a replacement headliner, and front door inserts. Minor signs of wear are noted on the seats and rear door inserts.

Power comes from a 3.0-liter straight-six S50 engine which produces up to 286 HP and 236 lb.-ft of torque. The pre-facelift Euro S50 produces over 40 HP more than its U.S. counterpart thanks to individual throttle bodies, continuously variable VANOS valve timing, heavy-duty valve springs, and higher compression ratios. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed manual transmission. The seller adds that a lightweight flywheel, front and rear strut braces, and Dinan short shift kit have been installed. A recent comprehensive service is said to include a valve adjustment and replacements of the spark plugs, all fluids, water pump, fan clutch, all pullies, hoses, suspension bushings, belts, expansion tank, and windshield washer tank. The seller states new front and rear brake calipers were also installed along with floating front rotors, new rear rotors, and stainless steel brake lines.

This sale will include a clean title and owner's literature.

@NewManJeans Thanks for the compliment, I was trying to give you the sound and be respectful of my local speed laws!! That would be bad juju near auction end, getting an expensive ticket! Anyway, thanks again. I should also add, that it is 96 here today, AC kept us both very cool while we had our little fun. AC here is SW Florida in summer is a must. The primary reason I cannot own an air cooled 911 here anymore.

@NewManJeans Video's uploaded, thanks to my lovely and smart wife. 2 sound inside car, 2 with external mic taped to the rear bumper! What a lovely sound this beauty makes, ok, I'll be away for 30 minutes, but back online by 2:45 for any questions

  • Footnfan (seller) 9 months, 2 weeksago

@NewManJeans Yep, just waiting for a few minutes break in the weather, I have to ask my wife to handle the camera, so soon I hope!

  • NewManJeans (registered bidder) 9 months, 2 weeksago

@Footnfan Good luck. No worries if it does not come together.

  • Footnfan (seller) 9 months, 2 weeksago

On the way home, hoping to upload a vide soon.....first driving vid ever, pray for me!!! :)

  • Footnfan (seller) 9 months, 2 weeksago

@NewManJeans Rain this morning, so I am hoping t go home at noon, and take video that I can upload when done. Hoping for some clear weather. My plan to run it up an onramp or two to give you a sense of just how well it runs, thanks for your interest.

  • Footnfan (seller) 9 months, 2 weeksago

@NewManJeans good morning I did my best to take some pictures of the underside of the lip for you this morning. I upload those photos hopefully they’ll give you some vision into the fact thatbthe underside of the lip. Is very clean an unmarked.

  • Footnfan (seller) 9 months, 2 weeksago

@NewManJeans The underside of the front lip is superb, so nice that it looks to be new, or certainly not the original. It must have been replaced when the car was repainted. The hex heads attaching it look very fresh, not all beat up. I could find no scars on the underside in my quick look a few ago.My drive video will be fully weather dependent. I only drive the car to work on nice cays, and we have had a a LOT of recent rain in SW Florida. Thank you for your interest. The car is really beautiful.

  • Footnfan (seller) 9 months, 2 weeksago

@NewManJeans I will look and report back to you.

  • NewManJeans (registered bidder) 9 months, 2 weeksago

A driving video would be great if you have time in the morning.

How does the underside of the front lip look?

  • Footnfan (seller) 9 months, 2 weeksago

Would anyone benefit from a driving video where I show how well the cars runs? I could try to video a spirited drive watching the rev counter rev up, I could also try to attach a remote mic for exhaust sounds? Just a thought, thanks, let me know, only 1 25 hours remaining.

  • Footnfan (seller) 9 months, 2 weeksago

@e3695M3 so just to confirm, yes I believe the spare tire in the trunk and rims that the tire is mounted to is one of the original rims that came with the car

  • Footnfan (seller) 9 months, 2 weeksago

@e3695M3 thank you very much. These wheels were on the car when I acquired it and I do believe that there a year or two later I do like them especially being staggered but no the only remaining original wheel is on the spare in the trunk.

  • e3695M3 9 months, 2 weeksago

Very nice example. I did notice that the wheels are from 96 or later M3. Did you replace them? Spare wheel in 94/95 correct.

  • Footnfan (seller) 9 months, 2 weeksago

Brakes, pads, new rotors ( fronts are floating) new SS brake lines, Parking brake cable, Parking brake shoes, parking brake springs and parking brake handle.
    $2156.95
New OEM front door cards. Have replacement panel cards if ne owner would like them. They are superb, but need to be re glued to be perfect.
    Part of initial purchase
    Complete valve adjustment
    $923.00
    New plugs.
Dinan short shifter and 1.5 hour shifter refresh. New rubber shifter boot and front shifter joint.

The is a total hoot to drive, I'll do my best to post a driving video to show just how well this E36 M3 performs.

  • sackboy (registered bidder) 9 months, 3 weeksago

@Footnfan Everything you describe sounds proper to me, having shared ownership with my son for 25+ yrs. on #17 of 45 Canadian M3`s in 1994.

  • sackboy (registered bidder) 9 months, 3 weeksago

My son has owned one of the 45 Canadian `94 E36 Euro`s brought in there, for over 25yrs. They are a Hoot to drive and noticeably quicker than the USA version- as I owned a `95 E36 M3 at the same time. The S30B50 is SWEET !! In fact- BMW`s basis for the famed McLaren V12 was two of this engine joined together in a sideways V- arrangement !!! sackboy

@maggio.1 Thanks very much for your bid. This morning I will post the full repair bill as I believe even the Carfax document left some key details off, so I’ll be posting that later on this morning as documentation for the significant service being recently done.

  • smiautopreservation (registered bidder) 9 months, 3 weeksago

I've seen and been in this M3 firsthand and can testify that it is absolutely mint. The paint job is to die for, it drives phenomenally and overall one of the cleanest E36 out there. This car has been extremely well taken care of as you can see by the photos and videos. This one will be a fun one to watch, GLWTA!

  • Dr_Eurocar 9 months, 3 weeksago

I (Dr EuroCar) did a bunch of work before the current owner took delivery. I've worked on over 30 of these euro M3s now and this one is definitely on of the nicer ones it was clearly well taken care of its whole life over in Japan. Whoever wins this car will be very happy with their purchase! GLWTA

  • Footnfan (seller) 9 months, 3 weeksago

Holy Cow, I forgot a lot of service items, so check the car fax for a full list. I do have a euro version of a car fax available that I used to document a wreck free history before I bought it, thanks.

  • Footnfan (seller) 9 months, 3 weeksago

I have two keys a swell. No owners manual sadly. Glove box is perfect and contains Koni shock adjust knobs, and the Continental radio removal tools.

The Dry Ice blasting was done by Ryan at https://www.arautopreservation.com/ He simply did amazing work. There are some nice before and after pics on his pages.

No cruise control no arm rest, no cup holders. Simply perfect in my mind, i hope you agree. OK, thanks for looking.

  • Footnfan (seller) 9 months, 3 weeksago

Hello everyone, thanks for looking at my beloved Euro Spec, Japanese market delivery 1994 M3!

I'm sure there will be questions, I'll try to get here 6-8 times per day, to answer them.

At my core, I am a Porsche guy. a million years ago I learned to paint cars, so I could buy early 70's 911's, strip them of paint, repaint them in lacquer, all to pay my college tuition. I repainted about 5-6 now wildly valuable cars, and had fun driving them for a few months before selling them.

I then moved on to restoring Shelby's when my two sons could enjoy them, they both had 5.0 Mustangs. we then moved on to E36 M3's, and we owned 5 I think. All but one being 1995 versions, and I found myself always wanting a true Euro E36 M.

So, this one popped up and I rolled the dice and bought it from The Monaco Auto Collection, and had a great experience. Visually nice, it needs a huge service in my mind, so I spent over 6K, making the car safe enough for me or my lovely wife to drive. New rotors, all fluids, valve adjustment, SS bake lines, pulleys, suspension bushings, the list goes on and on and I have documentation from Thomas the (@Dr_EuroCar) is the finest and easiest BMW tech I have ever met. Finally, I had the car dry ices blasted underneath and the result in my view, is stunning.

Cars are my hobby, they always have been. I am lucky enough to be able to buy REALLY nice cars, drive them, make them better, and eventually sell them when the next target is in mind. This car in my view, is the nicest E36M3 that I have EVER seen. Plus, it runs without flaw, AC, blows ice chilling cold, has the superb 6 throttle body engine, it is simply spectacular. Quiet, no squeaks, no rattles, windows work, door cards are brand new OEM from BMW.

I intended to show the car, but most big shows cars nothing about 1 94 Euro M3, so I have decided to move on.

It gets garage space next to our GT350R model and my E92 Slick Top M3 gets covered outside so that should speak volumes about the quality of this car.

So, what can I tell you about it? Thanks again for looking at the auction.
