We are pleased to present this rare 1994 Porsche 964 Speedster finished in Guards Red over a black leather interior. Built in a limited production series of 936 examples for the entire world, this 1994 Speedster represents one of the most collectible Porsche 964 models of all time. Purchased by the seller 20 years ago, this 2-owner example has been kept in exceptional overall condition while receiving all scheduled maintenance. Showcasing factory hardback Recaro bucket seats and unmistakable Speedster styling, this 964 is now being offered for auction showing approximately 75k miles on the odometer by its longtime owner and caretaker in Michigan.
The Guards Red finish on this speedster is said to be in great condition and the seller notes that a new convertible top has been recently installed along with new body seals. An incident has been reported on the Carfax under the original ownership, though no persisting damage has been noted. In typical Speedster fashion, this 964 is characterized by a shortened windshield frame and signature hump-shaped rear fairings which conceal the convertible top. Factory Cup Design wheels are retained which come dressed in an older set of tires, and the seller has indicated a small scratch on one of the wheels.
The cabin is upholstered in black leather with factory painted hardback Recaro RS bucket seats. Noteworthy details include RS door panels, a red leather shift knob and handbrake boot, red seatbelts and a red instrument surround fascia. The cabin is said to be in superb condition with an aftermarket period radio. All gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.
This Speedster carries its original air-cooled 3.6 L flat-six engine which is mated to a numbers matching G50 5-speed manual transmission. 250 HP is delivered to the rear wheels making for a 0-60 time of approximately 5 seconds. The suspension boots have been replaced and this Speedster is said to have undergone routine annual maintenance with regular oil changes. This 964 remains mechanically stock and in great running order.
