After several years of development, Porsche offered an improved 911 Turbo in 1993 featuring a new turbocharged version of the 3.6-liter M64 engine along with larger brakes, lowered suspension, and iconic three-piece Speedline wheels. This 1994 example is one of less than 1,500 produced in total and comes finished in Guards Red over a Black leather interior with Sport Seats. The car was sold new from Clair Porsche-Audi of Boston, Massachusetts, and has been cared for by three owners since. Showing just over 51k miles on the odometer, this legendary air-cooled Porsche is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Jersey.

The 911 Turbo is set apart from other 964s by its significantly wider bodywork, dual tailpipes, and Tea Tray rear spoiler. Models equipped with the later 3.6-liter engine also received red-painted brake calipers, chromium “Turbo 3.6” script, and three-piece 18” Speedline wheels measuring 8” wide in front and 10” wide in the rear. This example is finished in Guards Red and wears paint protection film over the front bumper as well as new stone guards on the rear fenders. The CARFAX report indicates the vehicle hit a curb in 1997 and shows four new tires mounted and balanced in 2023. The seller notes the right rear fender has been refinished and states all body panels remain original and properly aligned. Detailed images and paint meter readings are provided in the gallery along with a full CARFAX report.

The cabin is trimmed in Black leather with matching carpets and optional heated Sport Seats as well as an exclusive Dark Rootwood shifter and parking brake handle. Amenities include automatic climate control, power windows and mirrors, a central locking system, a sunroof, cruise control, and a sound system paired with a factory Porsche CR-1 radio and upgraded speakers mounted in original locations.

The turbocharged and intercooled 3.6-liter M64/60 flat-six engine delivers up to 355 HP and 384 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 5-speed G50 manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The Turbo 3.6 model rides 20mm lower than the original 964 Turbo and includes fixed four-piston Brembo brakes derived from the exclusive Turbo S version. Service completed in February 2023 included a new battery, brake light switch, two new fuel pumps, A/C maintenance, an oil/filter change, and a brake fluid flush.

This sale will include a clean title along with the original window sticker, owner's manuals, toolkit, spare tire, and a battery charger.

The seller would like you to know:  "My all-time favorite Porsche ever built. The last air-cooled rear-wheel drive Porshe built and with the 3.6L engine, it is just an amazing car to drive and cherish! This car is all up to date and ready to be enjoyed. A true pleasure to drive."

    @Columbus Thanks for the questions.
    1. These wheels were refinished at one time in their life. They are factory wheels, which is why we included the photos of the part number and all the information on the back of the wheels in the photo gallery.
    2. The accident shows hit a curb and it was back in 1997. The individual that I purchassd the car from was not the owner when the incident happened and has no information on the incident as mentioned already in the comments from a previous bidder that I replied too. I wish we all had a crystal ball and could look back in time. I have also included many photos of the underside and wheel wells to show how original the underside looks without any signs of previous damage.

Carfax states stolen recovery and accident with another vehicle. Can you provide more details on these occurrences?

  • Columbus (registered bidder) 1 yearago

I don’t see the “ Speedline for porsche” etching in the lip of the wheels. Assuming these aftermarket ?

Regarding the curious mismatch on the COA and the gearbox. This is NOT the first time i have seen one of the older Porsche COA’s being wrong. I had a 356 with a COA from the late 90’s and one from more recent with two different gearbox numbers on it. Turns out the good ole Kardex sorted out the issue. I know this 94 is too late for a Kardex, but i would say there is a good possibility the COA is incorrect.

@TurboDXB Thanks for the questions. I just uploaded the meter photos again. I apologize that they were not there, they were uploaded with the original listing. Regarding the Option code sticker, there is not one in the service book, only the one on the car, which I did my best to photograph so it is legible. Regarding the transmission number, all I can go with is the CoA and the number on the trans. The engine number matches the CoA, but the Trans Number certainly doesn't match the CoA. I wish I had more info. It is definitely the correct transmission for a 964 3.6 Turbo.

I meant to say gearbox number shown in image 306 doesn't match the CoA in image 349. Please confirm.

  • TurboDXB (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@Ambassador-Auto am I understanding correctly that the gearbox number shown in image #349 doesn't match the number shown in the CoA? Since the option code sticker under the bonnet is damaged, can you show the one on the service booklet? That's a more accurate source of truth sometimes than the CoA. Can you also post the paint meter readings that are mentioned in the description but not posted in the photo gallery @PCarMarket

@Jbwz65 Thanks for the questions. The car has the tool kit but does not have the air pump. I will be uploading photos of the tools shortly.
Regarding the Rootwood shift knob and hand brake handle, when I purchased the car, the hand brake handle had already been replaced. I cannot comment on why, but the individual that I purchased the car from, said he had purchased it as it is today.

  • Jbwz65 (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@Ambassador-Auto Also, the COA says it has a rootwood shift knob and brake handle but the brake handle looks like its been replaced. Can you comment on that or do you have the original?

  • Jbwz65 (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@ambassador-auto I didn't see the factory air pump and tool kit in the photos. Do you have those and if so, will they come with the car?

@SpartyRob84 Thanks for the question. As the listing states, I am a dealer and purchased the car in February. I have added about 100 miles to the car. All the service records that I have with the car are in the photo gallery. It will show the recent service and tires from this February and some older service records from one of the previous owners. I hope that helps.

  • SpartyRob84 (registered bidder) 1 yearago

Beautiful Turbo! How long have you owned the car? How many of the 51,000 miles have you put on her? Do you have service records from all three owners?
