Now available for auction is this 1994 Porsche 928 GTS finished in Black over a Cashmere Beige leather interior.  The final evolution of Porsche’s iconic 928 grand tourer, the GTS model featured a 350 HP 5.4L V8 along with flared rear fenders and a body-colored spoiler.  One of only 139 North American examples produced for the model year, this 1994 GTS was sold new in Tennessee and remained in Florida up until 2014 when it was acquired by the current owner’s family in Canada. A major service was completed around this time and the car has been kept in climate-controlled storage ever since while accumulating less than 300 miles. The interior has been customized with woodgrain trim and stainless-steel accents while the car rides on a set of upgraded HRE wheels.  This highly collectible 928 GTS is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Ontario with approximately 67k miles showing on the odometer.

This 928 comes finished in nonmetallic Black and features GTS-specific rear fender flares, a body-colored rear spoiler, Cup design mirrors, and a continuous red light band spanning between the taillights.  Optional body-colored side moldings are equipped, and the car currently rides on a set of polished 18” HRE multi-piece wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires dated from 2014.  Custom Porsche lettering has also been added to the rear light band. Some cosmetic imperfections are noted throughout the exterior including stone chips on the hood, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.  The seller notes that the set of factory 17” Cup design rims are also available.

Inside, this 928 sports a Cashmere Beige leather interior with a black dashboard and door panels.  Optional extended rear-seat air conditioning is equipped along with power-operated windows, mirrors, and seats with driver memory settings.  The center console and door panels are lined with custom woodgrain trim and the buttons and air vents are accented by aftermarket stainless steel bezels.  Other modifications include an aftermarket leather gear selector, plush shag floormats, and an aftermarket Pioneer head unit paired with upgraded speakers.  The cabin is described to have been preserved in very good condition with all gauges and accessories working properly.

The 928 GTS is equipped with a 5.4L 32-valve DOHC V8 engine rated at 345 HP and 369 lb.-ft of torque.  Power is sent to the rear wheels by way of a 4-speed automatic transaxle. A collection of maintenance records is provided for reference in the gallery with a major service invoice in 2014 at 67,565 miles totaling over $10k including an overhaul of the intake manifold, new valve cover gaskets, oil pressure sending unit, timing belt, water pump, and more.

This sale will include the original owner's manuals, a set of two keys, a binder of service records, and a clean title. A mileage discrepancy is shown on CARFAX which the seller has deemed to be a clerical error made by the Ministry of Transportation. The ultimate iteration of the Porsche 928, this rare GTS is waiting to be enjoyed by its next caretaker.

    @Engineered (seller)- They're 17" rims if I'm not mistaking and should fit in the back and I think it'll be OK if they're bubble wrapped.

  • Engineered (seller) 2 years, 4 monthsago

    @Archer1 Hi there

    The rims are very large in the rear, I haven't sized them out exactly but some would likely have to be put in the rear seats or somewhere throughout the car and not likely all fit in the rear. whether they fit or not and the buyer wants this, no problem, but I wouldn't take responsibility, nor recommend, for loose or somehow strapped rims inside a cars interior especially with leather seats and flawless carpets being transported any distance.

    @JPD Hi

    The car is located in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area).
    The rims are included if the new owner wants them, you would have to pay separate shipping for them keep in mind, unless you're picking up the car or the freight you choose will do so.

    @cd1 Hi there

    This blemish is on the front nose of the bumper about center about an inch and a half long. Not as prominent as the photo and lighting suggest, it took me about 3 laps around the car to find it.

    What I it is the car located in Ontario?
    17" wheel are 'availble"? As on they are included with the sale?

    @Maui928 Hello

    I gave the dash a small love tap and the oil pressure gauge sprang to life, it has mostly been in temperature controlled storage for a while, it is likely just sticking from not moving enough.
    I have submitted a video of the dash showing the oil pressure gauge working and contacted PCarMarket about uploading the measurements from before and the new video.

    @2022TurboS Hey there

    Unfortunately snow is on the ground here in Canada so the car won't be going for any more drives, but it drove wonderfully, no problems to report.

    In photo 24, where is the scar located on the car?

  • Maui928 (registered bidder) 2 years, 4 monthsago

    I noticed in the video that the oil pressure gauge doesn’t work; has that been addressed? Also, the crankshaft endplay maintenance pictures are still not loaded. Thanks!

  • 2022TurboS (registered bidder) 2 years, 4 monthsago

    I don't see anything about runs and drive. Video doesn't show the car moving. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    RP

    @2022TurboS Hey there

    boderbuddy.com is your best friend in this scenario. It's a good resource to start with.

    In my experience U.S. Customs usually charges 2.9% to import, although some people have said they have not been charged, I have never experienced this.

    You need to take into account brokerage to get all the documents, unless you know how to do them yourself as a dealer. As well arrange your own trailered shipping, you can use the postal code L4K 4S1 for an idea.

    As for price, that entirely depends upon you and your situation in Florida and where you are as it is very individually dependant. We have a contact in Buffalo that can help with all of this and has saved people a lot of money in the past if you are interested post sale as well.

    Another note, I'm sure you know being a dealer in Florida but just in case, your state has it's own safety certification like California with the DOT. Only the new owner can apply for it too, this applies to all cars coming from any other state as well.

    Hope this helps!

    Any idea of enclosed shipping cost to Florida? I am a dealer in Florida, but do not have exact location of car, also have never shipped from Canada, US Customs etc......

    @Bruised.RS Hi there

    The car has original factory paint, double checked with a paint stick in the pictures.

    Thanks for your interest

    Can you comment on the paint? It this original paint from the factory?

    Some pictures make it look like the car has had a repaint.

    @Maui928 Hi again,

    The crankshaft endplace maintenance was inspected.
    Porsche factory recommendations are anywhere between 0.004" - 0.012". With a wear limit of 0.16" being the indication of required maintenance.
    This 928 showed 0.0025" which is better than Porsche factory recommendations.
    All good to go.
    Pictures will be put up by Pcarmarket of the measurement shortly.

    Thanks

    @ebw6674 Hi there

    The trim can be removed with gentle care using proper plastic tools and adhesive label removers, being careful to preserve the finish underneath.

    Hope this helps !

    The wood trim is very pretty. Is it an applique that can be removed or is it more permanent?

    @Maui928 Hello

    I have scheduled for this maintenance to happen first thing Monday.

    Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

    @Engineered I would highly recommend that you get it into the shop to have this done during the auction in order to maximize your bids. It’s a maintenance item that some owners are not aware of and can result in catastrophic engine failure if not addressed. It well be well worth the couple hour investment and will provide confidence for the bidders. Since link below for some details on the procedures.

    @Maui928 Hi there,

    I did not find any mention of crankshaft endplay maintenance, flex plate or crankshaft endplay measurement. Maybe they use other terms, otherwise I do not see it either.

    Thanks for your interest.

  • Maui928 (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

    Wow, great to see the elaborate maintenance history! However, I didn’t see any mention of the crankshaft endplay maintenance on any of the receipts. Do you know when the last time the pressure on the flex plate was relieved and/or the crankshaft endplay measurement?
