We are pleased to present this 1994 Porsche Turbo 3.6 for auction.  The Turbo 3.6  became a cultural icon in the mid-1990s with its limited production number and impressive performance figures.  Today, the Turbo 3.6 remains one of the most desirable Porsche models with just 1,427 examples ever produced.  This specific example stands tall among others on the market with its complete and comprehensive service history, documentation, low mileage, and numbers matching drivetrain.  This 911 was purchased new at Don McGill Porsche of Houston, TX.  Over the course of 20 years, the first owner would keep record of virtually every record corresponding with the vehicle’s service and history of maintenance.  Since then, the vehicle is said to have been well taken care of and is now  being offered for auction by its seller out of California showing 41K-miles on the odometer.

Optioned in Polar Silver Metallic, the exterior of this Turbo is said to be in great condition with detailed images provided in the photo gallery.  A few key features of this Turbo 3.6 include an iconic integrated whale tail spoiler as well as factory 18” Speedline 3-piece wheels that wear a set of Michelin tires with excellent tread.  Additional factory options include heated/power mirrors, washer nozzles, front/rear stabilizer bars, and a rear window wiper.

Inside, you will find a Classic Grey partial leather interior that features sports seats with optional black seat piping.  Additional options on this Turbo 3.6 include power windows, climate control, 2+2 folding rear seats, power steering, on board computer, and special radio preparation.  Keeping its intended factory look, all electrical functions remain in working order and the seller notes the interior to be very well kept (detailed images are available in the photo gallery).

Power is derived from a numbers matching 3.6 L turbocharged flat-six engine (M64/60) that develops over 355 HP and 400 lb-ft. of torque (est).  At 38K-miles, this example is said to have had a complete full engine and gearbox-out major service, complete rebuild of the suspension, new tires, shocks, springs and full cleaning and detailing to PCA show standards (The vehicle’s comprehensive documentation album has a full accounting of all work performed). It is currently up to date with all due maintenance having driven virtually 0 miles since.

The sale will include all factory documentation including the original window sticker and owners manuals, two keys, certificate of authenticity, tools, spare, and extensive service and maintinance history. Do not miss your change to own this extremely well documented Turbo 3.6.

BILL thank you for posting the wheel photos it is appreciated. . All of these wheels at one point or another need to be taken apart and redone by a professional. There is a guy in Ca. who I am sure you know that does an absolutely STELLAR job on these and actually takes all the "rivets" that hold the 3 piece wheels together and sends them out to have them nickel plated. Anyway thank you for bringing an absolute gem of a car to PCARMKT. I am sure that you will be extremely satisfied with the results, talk soon sir and thank you for the super correspondence..

Good morning ByeEnzo, I could not be happier the RS 3.8 and Blossom Yellow Turbo 3.6 found their way to you and your family. Truly exceptional machines and I am so happy you are having a hard time figuring out which one to drive next!

Many kind thanks for your comment as well Wolfgangvonair!

Good morning jay993, I don’t have any different lights but can source the earlier type USA orange ones if you like and are the winning bidder.

I can comment without being a casual observer to this auction. I recently purchased two cars from Bill...a polar silver 993 RS and a rare yellow 964 Turbo 3.6. Both transactions were smooth and cars were as described, fully serviced, and turn key. The 964 Turbo 3.6 is a blast to drive. The winning bidder on this one will definitely be a happy camper.

    Good evening PCARMARKET fans,

I have just uploaded 67 pages of the receipts, records and ownership details for this Porsche including the last service and safety check we did as well as the previous selling dealer that was done 3,300 miles ago.

These should be up in the gallery for all to see tomorrow.

All services and safety checks are completely current and up to date with only 11 miles running time since the work was completed.

    Have a great evening,

    Bill Noon

  • Bill_Noon (seller) 3 yearsago

Images of the SpeedLine / Porsche rim etchings are now uploaded to PCAR and should appear in the gallery shortly.

Please let me know if I can assist further in anyway!

    Have a great weekend,

  • Bill_Noon (seller) 3 yearsago

    Good morning again nosubstitute4porsche,

All four rims are confirmed to still have the beautiful Porsche etchings and SpeedLine etchings on each rim. I have photos of them all and will get them uploaded to PCAR asap.

    How else can I assist?

    Bill

  • Bill_Noon (seller) 3 yearsago

    Good day @smdand,

Yes, the radio is an updated, modern blue-tooth unit. I would be happy to reinstall the original period radio for the winning bidder at no additional cost.

While the SpeedLine rims are original to the car, the new tires are slightly wider and lower by approximately 1/2 inch.

    How else can I assist?

    Bill

  • smdand (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Is the radio original to the car? Any modifications from stick other than tire size?
    Thanks

  • Bill_Noon (seller) 3 yearsago

    Good morning again nosubstitute4porsche,

As noted below in the comments, the SpeedLine, light-alloy modular rims were just completely polished and refinished at great time and expense. When I photographed and inspected them, I was able to confirm all four were original to the car and had correct date codes.

At that time, they did have the original "Porsche" and "SpeedLine" lazar etchings on each rim but I have not photographed them after they were refinished. I will check and get new photos for you and post in the gallery.

The last inspection of the car just noted they were original, correct and in perfect condition but I will get photos to see if they etchings were polished off.

Can I help with anything else?

Kind regards and best of luck with all your bids,

    Bill Noon

  • Bill_Noon (seller) 3 yearsago

    Good morning @nosubstitute4porsche,

Regarding the paint. Previously I shared in the comments below that the paint meter readings we got showed 4 to 5.5 except the front bonnet which is 9.5.

A new check by someone interested in the car found all panels to be 3.0 to 6.5 except they found the front bonnet to be 8.0 and the rear upper fenders to be 7.5.

So while some meter readings will be a bit different than others. I think it is safe to assume the lowest reading on any panel was 3.0 and the highest 8.0 on the front bonnet.

There are absolutely zero signs the car was ever repainted, no tape lines, or overspray anywhere and no panels have ever been off the car since assembly new by Porsche. This has been independently confirmed by all who have come to see it.

I have been selling these cars since they were new and If you are asking my opinion if the car has had any paint work, I believe the front bonnet was likely color sanded when new and reshot under warranty, something we had to do quite often as Porsche's new clear coat paint process that started with the 964 models was not the best and the front valences, fenders and bonnet would often delaminate very quickly.

There is however no record or receipt for any paintwork in the car's records and files which are extremely complete.

You would be very welcome to come visit and inspect yourself or have someone do so for you if you like. Everyone who has come to see the car so far has said the same thing, that it looks, feels, smells and drives like a brand new car.

Let me know how else I can assist,

    Bill

  • nosubstitute4porsche (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Do the wheels have " speed line for porsche " etched in them please? Have they been refinished at any point that you are aware of? thank you

  • nosubstitute4porsche (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

GOOD DAY ALL... has it been determined if this car has or has not had any paintwork that was not applied at the factory? thank you in advance..

  • Bill_Noon (seller) 3 yearsago

    Good afternoon @Jbwz65,

Many kind thanks for your comment and questions.

Photo 51 in the gallery shows three micro paint nicks just ahead of the left headlight bucket. They were hand touched up with a paint pen.

Photo 52 shows a micro nick/chip on the lower left of the front bonnet. It is very hard to find unless pointed out.

These were the only cosmetic defects that were found during the vehicle inspections.

I posted in the comments below the paint meter readings when we purchased this Porsche. It was also checked independently by an interested buyer during a recent inspection. The results we were given matched those and showed all panels were 4 to 5.5 except the front bonnet which is 9.5 and the right and left rear upper fenders which are both 8.0 each.

There is no protective film on the car anywhere other than the rockers and in front of both rear fenders. The paint there is perfect but there are many small micro imperfections in the protective film. It is not bad enough in anyway that anyone would want to replace the protective film at this time.

    How else can I assist?

    Bill

  • Bill_Noon (seller) 3 yearsago

    Good afternoon @ODK,

Great question and good observation. The ride heigh was checked during our initial PPI and found to be completely stock with no modification. The car is however on slightly lower profile and wider tires then when originally delivered new. When new, this Porsche, like the other North American Variants had these tires:

    -Yokohama Front 225/40ZR18 & Rear 265/35ZR18

    The car currently has:

    -Michelin Front 235/40/ZR18 & Rear 275/35ZR18

These slightly wider, lower profile tires give the appearance that the car is lowered, however the ride height was not altered other than the fitting of these new Michelin tires by the previous owner.

Many thanks again for your observation and question.

    How else can I assist?

    Kind regards,

    Bill Noon

  • Jbwz65 (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Beautiful car. I see a couple small stone chips in the photos so I assume there is no PPF on the car. Please confirm. Also, what is the condition of the rocker panels in front of the rear wheels? They tend to get lots of chips if they are not protected. Are you planning to do paint meter photos to confirm the paint is all original? Thanks.

  • ODK (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Bill, is there any documentation on how the car was lowered?

    History:
This particular Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6 was ordered new by Don McGill Porsche of Houston, Texas on behalf of favored client, James M. Perry, also a resident of Houston, Texas. Perry was quite fortunate to be allotted one of McGill’s few quotas as the entire production run was sold out before the first cars were even delivered. This 964 was a standard, North American Market Production completed with all of the standard options nearly all that were sold in North America came with. The only exclusive or special request option was done under “Code 10231” which was for contrasting black piping on the seats. The car was ordered in the classic cult-Porsche color of Polar Silver with a very complementary, “Classic Grey” leather interior.

Mr. Perry took delivery on June 21st, 1993 and received new registration, title and plates from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles on August 26th, 1993. Over the next 20 years, Mr. Perry faithfully and meticulously serviced and cared for his treasured Porsche. More than 30 pages of records and receipts document all of the services and maintenance performed during his ownership.

In January of 2012 the car was purchased by R & H Motor Car Group, a classic and exotic car dealership in Solon, Ohio. Total mileage at the time of the sale was 38,190 miles. Upon taking delivery, the car was given complete and total, full engine, gearbox out major services, complete rebuild of the suspension, new tires, shocks, springs and full cleaning and detailing to PCA show standards. (The vehicle’s comprehensive documentation album has a full accounting of all work performed.

The work took nearly six months to complete and the car was then sold to a enthusiast in Illinois. After taking delivery and showing the car on two occasions, he was concerned driving it would affect the car’s value and he traded it back to R & H Motor Car Group. During his short ownership of the car, he added just 262 additional miles to the car’s odometer. It was then sold almost immediately to a collector in New York on May 9th, 2013. Total recorded milage at the time of sale was 38,452 miles. A year after taking delivery, the car was professionally appraised for insurance valuation and assigned a value of $268,000. Total recorded mileage at the time of the appraisal was 38,788 miles. The new owner rarely drove this special Porsche covering just over 2,500 miles during his eight years of ownership.

Excluding dealer ownership and sales, this Porsche has had just two long-term owners and one extremely short-term owner who had the car for just a few months and covered less than 300 miles in it during his ownership. It is sold with all original, perfectly preserved delivery items including all books, manuals, warranty card, supplements and never opened or used tool kit. The records are complete from the original window sticker, Porsche Client Delivery sheet and every service and maintenance records from new to the present.

  • Bill_Noon (seller) 3 yearsago

A couple of updates for all interested in this Porsche. The 2nd YouTube video is now live and additional photos have been posted to the gallery.

There is a massive documentation album that accompanies this vehicle with records and receipts going back to the moment the car was ordered. It would be impossible to photograph it all but I will try and make a video of me going through all the pages.

All services, safety checks and complete inspections have been completed on this Porsche. There is now just ten additional miles on the car since all work was completed.

Several have asked about the SpeedLine, light-alloy, modular rims. All four are original and correctly date-coded to the car. They are absolutely pristine and without damage or issue of any kind. All four have also just been completely polished and cleaned to as new appearance.

Thank you kindly LMK for the email and photos. Yes, I agree, perfect car for the PCA show circuit but for me, the real fun is simply behind the wheel with many miles of smiles down the road!

Please let me know if I can assist with anything else in anyway.

    Kind regards,

    Bill Noon

    Good afternoon @Medaltech,

Many thanks for your bid. Let me know if I can help further in anyway.

I have just uploaded new photos taken today after an earlier inspection and test drive this morning.

They should be posted to the gallery shortly. I will try and work on a new video and get that uploaded to YouTube as soon as I am able.

    Cheers,

    Bill

I just got back home after inspections and test drives. I also took some additional photos and video and will work on getting all down and uploaded as soon as I am able.

There is now an additional ten miles on the car, so total mileage is now 41,278.

It is a fairly hot day today here, but the AC works perfectly and completely chilled the car out in just a minute.

There were zero issues or defects noted of any kind and the car performed and presented itself exactly as it did 27 years ago when showroom new!

    Cheers,

    Bill

I have just uploaded complete bottom side inspection photos and PCAR should have them in the gallery shortly.

Please look very closely at these. The bottom side of this Porsche is extremely telling of how carefully this Porsche has been driven and cared for.

It has never been jacked up incorrectly and never bottomed out. The exhaust system is pristine and the engine still has the original fragile paper decal between the two case halves.

There is not a drop of oil or a weep or leak anywhere ever on this Porsche.

    Kind regards,

    Bill

Photo 51 in the gallery shows three micro paint nicks just ahead of the left headlight bucket. They were hand touched up with a paint pen.

Photo 52 shows a micro nick/chip on the lower left of the front bonnet. It is very hard to find unless pointed out.

These were the only cosmetic defects that were found during the vehicle inspections.

I am getting some additional photos today and will post them as soon as I am able.

    Cheers,

    Bill

Good day PCARMARKET Porsche fans everywhere and welcome to the show!

For your viewing, driving, bidding and buying pleasure, we are honored to offer for sale this spectacular 964 Turbo 3.6. I will have much to share and hope to make one very fortunate new future owner, the envy of all of the under bidders in just 11 short days.

This ultra-rare, North American Market model has had essentially two, long-term owners with one private collector in between who owned it for just a few months and only added 260 miles during his very short ownership. There is a massive documentation album that accompanies this Porsche and it includes every record, receipt and document from the moment the car was ordered and sold new to the present. Even the original Porsche day of delivery check-off sheet is included with the sale.

All services and safety checks are completely current and up to date with no driving time since they were completed.

I encourage all who are interested to contact me directly as there is far more to share on this Porsche than can be posted here in the comments and photo gallery section.

All are warmly invited and encouraged to inspect and test drive this Porsche without restriction. No one who takes the time to do so, will be disappointed in the least!

My many thanks to boys at PCARMARKET and all who will be participating in the comments and bids on this lovely machine.

    Kind regards,

    Bill Noon
