good luck with the purchase
Bid in the amount of $22,000
you guys realize you're not going to "snipe" the auction by bidding at the last second, right? Additional time (2 and a half minutes?) is added to the clock after your last-second bid. This isn't 1990s eBay, lol.

@witz… note that the warning light is coincident with the ‘air bag’ light staying on at the lower right portion of the instrument cluster.
Caution! light stays on in video after start up.

@witz These are the standard 16" cup wheels. 17" cup wheels were an option (version depending on year).
@bamaboy473 Thanks for your input. We have not seen or experienced any such issues. You are welcome to review all the pictures we have posted as well as have the vehicle inspected prior to placing a bid!
@leigh I have driven this car personally and purchased it from the prior owner who owned it for 20+ years. I have found no issues with the frame of the vehicle and it steers and drives straight. As always we encourage PPI inspections prior to bidding on a vehicle.
@Porshelvr A/C blows cold,
does the A/C blow cold? I live in Florida and you know it's hot year round..
Are cup 1 wheels are an option? These are cup2. I believe
Can someone chime in?
@leigh weird can be good because it focuses on something from a different perspective. I appreciate knowing the history, but also don't care if it happened 25 years ago. If the repair was bogus, then rust, paint bubbles, creaks while on a PPI...would have surfaced. let's ask the Seller whether any of the above are evident??
@bamaboy473 that is the weirdest analogy I’ve heard in a long while. @WReiter thanks for pointing out the frame work that was part of the repair, information every bidder would want to know.. @collectorcars have you checked the frame?
@WReiter IMO, that's like pointing out that your daughter in law had sex before her marriage 25 years ago. If all has been well since then, who really cares besides those who look for problems? This car won't be going into a museum, and there are very few 968s left in such good condition. There's, "being right", and then there's, "being brutally right".
@WReiter we agree!
Thank you. It's a real beauty.
@WReiter No worries if this car is not for you sir! We appreciate your input!
I hate to point it out, but from the receipts, it looks like there was a pretty substantial collision in '98 that required extensive repair and parts and having the frame pulled. Of course, this doesn't mean that the car wasn't repaired to "good-as-new".

@tff Records reposted. We encourage and recommend a PPI for serious buyers. Thanks

@rh15 Reposted records.
We will post pictures inside of the hatch today.A/C blows cold. We encourage and recommend an independent PPI prior to bidding on the vehicle and commuting to purchasing if you are a serious cash buyer. Barnaba, Olsen Motorsport and Ogden Motor Car are a few Indy shops in the area my staff can assist with dropping the vehicle off.

@collectorcars can you please repost and address the bodywork invoices just so that we can have that out of the way (and start bidding)?
@rh15… agree that those invoices are no longer posted. It was quite a long list but did not memorize it. But $10k back then looks significant to me.
@collectorcars -- I'm not seeing the bodywork invoices @tff mentioned in the comments below. Have they been removed? (I've refreshed, and tried a different browser--no luck) The most recent maintenance invoice I see in the gallery is from 2011, has any work been done since then? Timing belt, etc.. Also can you post pictures of inside hatch area underneath the carpet? The paint readings seem to be a little higher in the back and it would be good to see the inside of the hatch area to check for any potential body work. A/C blow cold? Thanks in advance.

@tff Thank you for your interest. All this work was done by the prior owner of this vehicle who owned it for 25+ years. He was a perfectionist. If you look at this car it’s mint. The invoices state what items were repaired and refinished.
Can the seller please explain the reason for the significant amount of body work done, shown on slides 142 to 147? $10k worth of work. Thanks.
@needanothercar All service records have been posted and all close up shots of the car. Here is a direct link for close ups. You can go through the image gallery for the service records.

Collector cars, when I first saw this car, I went thru your information. Then when you posted that "additional content has been added" I went back and read the information and looked at the photos. It would help if you would state what you are adding so I can then go to that photo of repair sheet. Thanks in advance for your help.

@Sunsport Thx for your answer. ‘Nuther “mystery” solved!
Beautiful car by the way - looks well kept. I have the identical car but which much higher mileage - I'm the third owner and it has been well enjoyed and maintained by all. These are wonderful cars to drive and do so many things well from commuting to touring to track.
I suspect if the seller posts a picture of the options code sticker in the hatch area that you'll see this has option code 718 which would confirm it was a 93 changed to a 94 by Porsche. Lots of details about this on the 968 registry page.
@Glickster It is commonly known that Porsche re-vined left over 968s that didn't sell to the next model year. This would have been a left over 93 re-vined by Porsche to a 94 which is why it has some 93 features/early build date for a 94.
@Glickster As per vin analytics this is a 94’ 968.

@collectorcars Yes! Camera angles can be deceiving. Is there a way to check to determine whether the VIN represents a '94 model year vehicle? Porsche may have switched to the 993 seating in mid-production for the '94's so an early '94 might still get the "93 style seats. Nice example either way.

@Glickster I think that's just the way we took the picture, we will retake it and repost.
Nice looking car. I've owned a couple of 968's ('93 & '95 coupes.) While I understand that this car was sold/purchased in 1994, the date of manufacture is 4/93, which seems a tad early for the 1994 model year. The seats in the '94 & '95 968 are the same as the 993's seats; the seats in this car are the seats that came with the '92 & '93 968 models. One last observation - the numerals "968" on the back of the vehicle appear unevenly spaced and maybe not the same size. Perhaps these numerals were replaced?

Beautiful car! Is it possible to reshoot the maintenace documents so that the date is shown? Next, I could not read the date but one line is "SUBL Cooper Body Shop" with a charge of $1,861. Can you describe why this charge ? I hate black interiors but I really like the rest of the car.
Any plans to post undercarriage pictures?
