We are pleased to offer this 1995 Acura NSX-T finished in Formula Red over a Black leather interior. Designed and hand constructed at the Honda Global Research and Development Center in Tochigi, Japan, the first generation NSX went on sale for the 1990 model year as one of the most advanced sports cars of its time. This 1995 example was acquired by the seller in 2011 at approximately 67k miles and has since been garage kept and regularly maintained including a major service by an Acura dealer in 2014 with a new timing belt and water pump. The optional automatic transmission was also replaced during this time at a cost of almost $10k, a factory feature equipped for only 73 out of the total 780 U.S. examples produced for the model year. This NSX-T is now being offered for auction by its owner out of Arizona showing approximately 79k miles on the odometer.

The NSX was the world's first mass-produced car to feature an all-aluminum body, and an aircraft-grade chromate coating was employed to protect the bodywork before a 23-step paint process was carried out. This NSX-T comes finished in Formula Red and features a removable Targa-top.  It rides on a set of staggered 17”/18” multi-piece iForged wheels dressed in Nitto NT555 tires. The original 16"/17" 7-spoke forged aluminum wheels are said to accompany the sale, the rear of which were polished under prior ownership. Some signs of road-going wear are noted on the front end, additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

Drawing inspiration from the cockpit of the F-16 fighter jet, the driver-focused cabin of this NSX is upholstered in black leather and includes 4-way power seats, power door locks, mirrors, windows, and cruise control. The air conditioning system was serviced in 2014 and one of the steering wheel-mounted horn buttons is currently inoperable along with the factory CD changer and power antenna. All other accessories are said to remain fully functional.

This first-generation NSX is powered by a transverse-mounted Honda C30A 3.0L 24-valve V6 engine with VTEC variable valve timing. The rear wheels are driven through an uncommon 4-speed automatic gearbox. In 2014, a major service was carried out by Acura of Tempe including a valve adjustment, timing belt and water pump replacement, new cam plugs and seals, cylinder gaskets, spark plugs, both CV boots, brake master cylinder, and the installation of an Acura-remanufactured automatic transmission. The seller states that the only modification is a K&N air filter and that regular oil changes have been observed under their care.  Approximately 4k miles have been driven on the new transmission.

This sale will include a clean title.

One other thing, as it may matter to some. This car has always passed AZ emissions (every 2 years) with no problems at all. That should show in the CarFax. Never had an issue with that (other than having to remember to turn off the traction control, since they do it on the rollers).

  • NSX-1995 (seller) 2 yearsago

@hihasan99 Thanks for your interest! The only thing I would suggest is an oil change. Current synthetic oil has low miles but it might be two years old. I'm not sure age matters, but I've always played it safe and changed it regardless of miles. Other than that, it's ready to start up and drive. Check the cold start and driving videos! :-)

  • hihasan99 (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

@NSX-1995 Does the car require any immediate maintenance? My friend just shared this with me and I'd like to do a pre purchase inspection but the rules state that it would have to be done prior?

Current owner here again. Would like to clarify one thing in the copy, where it says the transmission was replaced at a cost of nearly $10k. The transmission was actually $5946 parts and labor. All that work in 2014 (trans, master cylinder, water pump, cv boots, etc.) came out to nearly $10k. Just wanted to be clear there.

@NSX-1995 I have uploaded some pics of the car with the top off, as well as the top and bottom of the top itself.

Hopefully the videos will start working soon!

  • NSX-1995 (seller) 2 yearsago

@TinCanRacing Thank you! There are no issues with the top. I just never take it off. Will add pics later today.

  • TinCanRacing (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

Nice car, I don't see any pictures with the Top off, any issues? Roger in WI

  • Magicalmachine (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

@nsx 1995, that makes sense. Thanks

  • NSX-1995 (seller) 2 yearsago

Most folks probably know this, but it's a sport-shift auto, meaning you can still shift "manually" with the control on the steering column. It's a super fun car to drive. I can't believe I still have my license. ;-)

  • NSX-1995 (seller) 2 yearsago

@Magicalmachine When I bought the car, it shifted slightly noticeably "hard" and and the fluid was brown. It drove OK but wanted to surge at a stop, like it was cycling between 1st and 2nd (only after it got fully up to temp). It would also make a rumbling noise when idling. Don't know exactly what happened to it, something went bad. Acura would not repair/rebuild - they would only replace with a factory re-manufactured transmission. It took several weeks to get the new one from Japan. The car was in the shop about a month. During that time, their NSX Tech went over the entire car.

  • Magicalmachine (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

Hi, what was the reason trans was rebuilt? Thanks

  • NSX-1995 (seller) 2 yearsago

Original owner's manual is included. Original 12V air compressor and tools are still in the trunk.

  • NSX-1995 (seller) 2 yearsago

One other detail: the main relay and ignition switch (which are known to fail in these cars) were replaced about two years ago, so those are good to go too! This car is ready for many more miles of fun. I'm gonna miss it!

  • NSX-1995 (seller) 2 yearsago

Please note the pictures of the car on the lift are from the major service in 2014. The transmission was replaced with an Acura rebuilt transmission. As of now, it only has about 4,000 miles on it, so I don't think you'll find a "newer" transmission. The brake master cylinder, spark plugs, both CV boots, water pump, and timing belt were also replaced at that time by Acura of Tempe, AZ. Paperwork for that service will be provided. This car has a LOT of life left! Let me know if you have any questions!

  • NSX-1995 (seller) 2 yearsago

Hello everyone! Current owner of this car here. Bittersweet moment for me, as this car has been my baby since 2011. But I’m not driving it much, and I have a wife and six-year old, both telling me we need to buy a bigger house. So I’m reluctantly letting my baby go. The car has been kept covered in my garage the entire time I’ve owned it. The only people I’d let work on it are Acura and myself. I’m an engineer/mechanical designer who has been working on cars and motorcycles for 30 years. I will be here to answer any questions promptly and happily!
