Boasting classic BMW styling and build quality, the BMW E34 5-Series is a favorite amongst enthusiasts. This 1995 525i Sedan is finished in Alpine White over a Parchment leatherette interior and is equipped with a 2.5-liter inline-six engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Originally a California car, this example arrived in Missouri in November 2019 and is now being offered for auction at no reserve by its seller out of Illinois while showing approximately 67k miles on the odometer.

This 525i is finished in Alpine White, also known as Alpinweiss III (300), and rides on aftermarket silver 15″ Style 5 wheels dressed in Michelin tires from 2018. Exterior details include classic BMW dual front air intakes, quad front headlights, contrasting black body side moldings, black bumper rub strips, and a dual exhaust outlet. The seller notes a minor imperfection on the passenger side mirror. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report that shows rear damage sustained in April 2019. Additionally, a set of factory Style 2 wheels is said to accompany the sale.

The cabin is appointed in Parchment leatherette upholstery and features a power-operated sunroof, power-adjustable mirrors, power-adjustable front seats, a 10-speaker AM/FM/cassette stereo, and dual-zone climate control. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.

This 525i is equipped with a 2.5-liter M50 inline-six engine with VANOS variable valve timing and a factory-rated output of 189 HP and 184 lb.-ft of torque. It sends its power to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. The seller notes that services during previous ownership included recharging the A/C system, a coolant flush, a fan clutch replacement, and replacements of the drive belts.

This sale will include a clean title, toolkit, spare tire, car cover, owner’s manuals, and some documentation.

@M3BUM The electronic headrest adjustment does not work as you stated earlier. I did not check the cruise control. Frankly neither of these are important as far as I am concerned. I do not use cruise control except on rental cars.
I just uploaded a picture of the keys. There are two keys, two key fobs and one valet key.

Please let me know should you have any questions.

I will be traveling tomorrow and may not be able to respond promptly

@Tortauno Below are excerpts from the previous auction. I will try to share with you the entire auction thread later if I am allowed by PCAR

The right taillight was replaced and bodywork performed in the surrounding area following a collision in April 2019. A scrape on the left front fender is also said to have been repaired under current ownership.

In regards to the passenger-side taillight damage, it was a very low speed impact in a parking lot. While pulling into a parking spot I saw someone I knew – in my distracted state I forgot to set the parking brake or put it in gear when I turned off the engine. The parking lot was almost flat, and after I went into the building the car slowly rolled backwards approximately 30 feet until that passenger-side taillight became close friends with the corner of an F150’s front bumper. The taillight became ‘pressed in’, so the taillight pocket got pushed back a bit. A close friend’s body shop did excellent work pulling it back out.

Hi, do you have any information on the accident/damage to the rear of the car in April 2019? Thanks!

  • Pump993 (seller) 10 monthsago

    @VOC4S Hi,
The car is smoke free. When I titled the car in Illinois, I was not required to have a smog test I guess because of the age of the car.
Please let me know should you have any question.

  • M3BUM (registered bidder) 10 monthsago

@Pump993 My apologies! I did research on the car since I am very interested in it and found out that this car's last 2 owners acquired it from an auction site (you included) and those issues were mentioned also saw pictures of key fob for alarm and 3 keys from owner who sold it in 2019. Lastly, correct me if I am wrong that this is the 1st BMW you've ever owned and that you've owned it for almost 3 years and yet only drove it for 350 miles. If those information are incorrect, please accept my apologies and I stand to be corrected. I am just merely doing my due diligence in trying to buy a car sight unseen.

  • Pump993 (seller) 10 monthsago

@M3BUM Hi, I am not aware of any issues with head rest or the cruise control, since I did not try either of them. Can you please advise how you determined that there were issues? Regarding the alarm and the key fob, I will check later as soon I am by the car.

  • M3BUM (registered bidder) 10 monthsago

@Pump993 Does the issue on the electronic headrest and cruise control ever been resolved on this car? Do you still have the key fob for the alarm and how many keys are included in the sale? I only saw 1 regular key and 1 valet key in the photo gallery.

@Pump993 Thank you for your quick reply. I am not to far from Costa Mesa. I'll let you drive it back to California if I get lucky enough to be the last bidder standing at the end of your auction if you want. :-)

  • Pump993 (seller) 10 monthsago

@M3BUM Thank you for the interest.
There are no known issues or flaws with the car. I would not hesitate to drive it from Chicago to California. I would only by a new tire for spare. In fact, last year I seriously did consider driving the car to California to store it with some of my cars in Costa Mesa.

    Hi to you all.

I am available for any questions you may have about this beautiful car.

I purchased this car in November 2020 from another reputable site for car enthusiasts. One main reason that attracted me to it in addition to its condition is that it is a California car. When I received the car, I was pleasantly very surprised by its perfect condition, and it was as just as you see it here including the clean conditions of the pillars, door hinges car jams etc.

The car spent its life from 1995 till 2019 in California. During my ownership, I only drove it in the summer, on dry days. The car has been stored under cover and inside a controlled environment concrete structure garage as you see in the photos.

Everything works, and there are no issues. The engine revs smoothly and, the manual transmission shifts perfectly. All tires are in as new condition except the spare. The AC blows cold, all windows and sunroof work. All electricals work. The car had a new battery that I replaced in 2021.

Original wheels are also included in addition to the wheels you see in the photos. Also included original floor mats, and the Lloyds mats that you see in the photos. Car cover, Owners Manuals extra keys as you see in the pictures, tools and jack etc.

The car is bone dry and there are no rust spots at all another evidence of well-maintained California car.

The reason I am selling is because, being one of 26 cars that I have in my collection, and because of business demands and my very frequent travels, I do not have the time to enjoy this beauty and put enough miles to maintain for proper maintenance and car condition.

This car is a real joy to drive to drive and shift.
