One of the most iconic sports cars of the 1990s, the Ferrari F355 featured the highest horsepower to displacement ratio of any production car at the time. This inaugural year Berlinetta was ordered in the timeless combination of Rosso Corsa over a tan Connolly leather interior and was delivered new to Lake Forest Sports Cars of Chicago, Illinois in January of 1995. It was relocated to Connecticut in September of 2000 before being registered in Arizona where it remained up until 2007 and later moved to Wisconsin. During previous ownership, an X-Ost exhaust system with Hyperflow catalytic converters was fitted and the common sticky button was addressed. Under current ownership, it has received an engine out service which included a new timing belt and Hill’s tensioners, Superformance aluminum radiators, an oil change, a new water pump, new spark plugs, new belts, and new Continental tires. Showing just over 31k miles on the odometer, this F355 Berlinetta is now being offered at auction by its seller out of Wisconsin.

The Pininfarina-designed bodywork is finished in Rosso Corsa (300) and features distinctive pop-up headlights, fog lights, side air intakes, a vented engine cover, quad exhaust pipes, and “Flying Buttress” rear pillars. The front bumper and mirrors have been covered in paint protection film, and the seller notes some minor blemishes on the film as well as some wear to the top of the driver’s door and the sails by the engine compartment. The rear bumper was refinished following the incident reported on CARFAX in 2002 and the front bumper was refinished under current ownership to address rock chips. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with the full CARFAX report. The factory 18” wheels are manufactured by Speedline and wear new Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 tires.

The cabin is upholstered in tan Connolly leather with a contrasting black upper dashboard and steering wheel. Details include a polished gated shifter, F355 badge on the passenger-side dashboard, drilled aluminum pedals, Ferrari-branded door sill guards, embossed Ferrari badges in the headrests, chrome-ringed Veglia instrumentation, and auxiliary gauges in the center stack for fuel level and coolant temperature. The seller reports the sticky button issue was addressed in 2018 and the seats exhibit signs of normal use.

The F355 is powered by a mid-mounted 3.5L naturally aspirated V8 with 5 valves per cylinder, titanium connecting rods, and dry-sump lubrication resulting in a power output of 375 HP and 258 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by a 6-speed manual gearbox and limited-slip differential, allowing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 183 MPH. The last recorded maintenance was an engine-out service including replacement of the timing belt and installation of Hill’s tensioners, new Superformance aluminum radiators, a new water pump, new spark plugs, new belts for the alternator, power steering, and air conditioner as well as an oil and filter change. An X-Ost performance exhaust system has been fitted along with Hyperflow catalytic converters, and the original parts are said to accompany the sale. Additional service records are also said to be available dating back to the original purchase.

This sale will include a leather tool kit, owner’s books, the original exhaust system, catalytic converters, comprehensive service records, and a clean title (lien).

I think you'd be hard pressed to find sellers for comparable cars at this price point...being an auction you might be able to snag a bit of a deal. As these cars age...paintwork becomes less of an issue. Most classic Ferraris pulling 7 figures+ are all repainted or repaired in one way or another. Personally, I'd much rather have 3 or 4 F355's than one Dino.

@NIN10DO The nicest old Ferrari school , my preferred car , My first Ferrari was an F355 , I love the noise of that engine with the Tubi Exhaust .

Earlier cars also had a 1 piece under body tray...I'm curious if this is one of them.

  • RedHorse55 1 year, 9 monthsago

Bid in the amount of $120,750

  • NIN10DO 1 year, 9 monthsago

Having had 3 of these cars in my life, this looks like a great turn-key example. Even though it has had a minor incident reported, the cars body lines look better than some "clean carfax" examples I've seen.

The rear bumper is also correct for a 95 model year. The damage had to have been insignificant enough to not warrant replacing the rear bumper cover. The license plate cavity on the 94-95 model year cars has a 90* corner, 96+ cars has rounded edges.

The 2.7 Motronic cars (94-95) are also rumoured to make a bit more power, and are more desirable as they have less electrical nannies (immobilizer, o2 sesnors post-cats, etc.) and respond better to modifications.

The slight rattling noise at higher RPM's is the exhaust valve. Common issue as they age, but easy fix...I would suggest getting a Capristo one.

Good luck to bidders. Whoever wins will be happy I'm sure.

Hey all you late bidders. Welcome to the auction! :) Just a quick note to reiterate that this car literally just had an engine out service last month. Everything has been so you can hop in, turn the key, listen to those awesome 90s buzzers sound (and then go off in proper order, because they do!), click that open-gated shifter into first and then enjoy the symphony from the glorious naturally-aspirated V8...which sounds EVEN BETTER because of the X-OST exhaust and hyperflow cats! We want to find a good home for this Italian Stallion. :) Thanks! Jen~

@jenniferver2 in the list of paint meter readings, #17 says Front hood with PPF - 0.4 (2 mil PPF!). But 1 & 2 are also for front hood and no mention of PPF on front hood there or in other info that I can find. Can you confirm if there is any PPF on the front hood, or if it’s only on the front bumper? And for the PPF on the front bumper, do you know how long after the front bumper was repainted that the PPF was applied? Thanks!

  • jenniferver2 (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

    @treffendriver Picture #11. Rear bumper (repainted after 2013 bump) - 0.6

  • jenniferver2 (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

@rencarnacion Your assumption is correct. The reserve is higher than the payoff. Wouldn't have it any other way! Happy bidding!!

  • jenniferver2 (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

@msgsobe We were able to grab one late yesterday of under the nose. It's the last one in the gallery. :)

  • treffendriver (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

So can you clarify? Previous owner says he was hit in rear on freeway and did some paint work on rear fender and bumper. It was mentioned that only bumpers were resprayed? If he was hit in fender it’s likely been repaired and repainted but I don’t see any paint meters in the sections near rear bumpers to verify if it’s been repainted or not? Also, how are the leak down and compression numbers coming along?

  • rencarnacion (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

I’m assuming the reserve set on this auction will cover the lein/payoff amount? I don’t want to bid on this vehicle and find out the hammer price is less than the payoff amount, and pay a fee to pcar market and then be responsible for the remaining amount to pay off the vehicle, if that makes sense.

    PART TWO...

I took delivery early this year and diligently worked to bring all of the mechanicals current. We did a full engine out service in June of this year along with some additional updates and work including…

New aluminium driver’s side radiator by Superformance
New aluminium passenger side radiator by Superformance
New left side exhaust header as we found a leak in the old one. Right side is good.
Engine out service including belts and new Hill’s tensioners
    Water pump
    Spark plugs
    Oil and filter change
    Alternator belt
    A/C belt
    Power steering belt
    Brake system flush
    Charged the AC system
    Coolant change
New Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires all around

This 1995 F355 Berlinetta is in its original Rosso Corsa paint over tan leather interior. Paint readings are shown in photos in the gallery. The only wear that you can really see on the interior is on the parking brake handle. There is a photo showing this. The interior looks (and smells) wonderful!

The F355 was always a dream car of mine and I am very happy to have been able to check the box of ownership. Now all of the hard work has been done and it is someone else’s turn to check their box as well.

    Sale of this F355 includes:

    Two original keys
    Schedoni Leather Tool Kit
F355 Service Manual (on CD and full printed copy)
    Original exhaust and cats
    Original Brochure
All service records/receipts from the original sale date to current
    Photos of X-Ost installation

Thank you for looking and I hope we can find a new home for this beauty! Happy bidding! ~Jennifer~

Hello all viewers and (hopefully) bidders! As we head into the last day of this auction I thought I'd give as much history of this car as I can.

Have you dreamt of owning a Ferrari F355? Well, now is the time and this is the one! This F355 Berlinetta has a well-tracked service history starting with the original selling dealer through to its current owner.

Delivered new to its first owner on January 14, 1995 (copy of original warranty card included!), the car came through Lake Forest Sportscars in Chicago, IL. The second owner was on the East Coast and the car had its first major service on February 20, 2001.

The 355’s stay on the coast was brief and a new owner took delivery in Arizona where another major service was performed and many minor items were documented over its tenure in the southern sun.

CarFax reports an incident from April 13, 2002 and I was fortunate to be able to track down the owner at the time (3rd owner). We shared a fun conversation about this car over text. I asked him about this incident and he said that he had some rear fender and paintwork done when a truck was changing lanes on the freeway and made contact with the right rear. He stressed that it was, “Strictly cosmetic!” He also said, “How long have you owned the car? I miss it!” and, “It was a great car!”

In December of 2006 a pre-purchase inspection was performed by world-renowned Ferrari specialists, Motion Products, before the car’s last owner made his purchase. A single-page transport inspection from January 11, 2007 showed chipped paint on the front bumper due to road use.

The new owner had the front bumper repainted (work completed 5/7/2007) and paint protection film was applied in July of 2007. There are three spots in the PPF that are marred but not through to the paint. You can see details of those in the photos.

Paint readings from July 11, 2022 show 0.1 to 0.2 over most of the car indicating original paint. Only the rear bumper and front bumper have been repainted.

In December of 2007 an X-Ost exhaust system with Hyperflow catalytic converters was installed to provide a little more dramatic singing voice to the glorious V8, and also to reduce weight.

In May of 2018 the infamous “sticky buttons” were replaced and all of these items look fantastic today as you can see in the video and photos.

The previous owner treated this beauty as more of a garage queen than a corner carving weekend warrior and the car saw minimal mileage or wear.

    PART TWO POSTED NEXT...

  • jenniferver2 (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

@Dragaster Good morning and thanks for your questions. Here you go...
    1. I had a recent health diagnosis I am dealing with. Unexpected.
    2. We just replaced the left side exhaust header as we found a small leak. OEM parts as Tubi is back ordered for months.
    3. We just did en engine out service and the valve guides checked out as ok so I did not do anything with them.
    4. Everything runs exactly as it should!

  • Dragaster 1 year, 9 monthsago

Hello! I've got a couple questions for you:
    1) From the Carfax, it appears you purchased the car this year. May I ask why you're already selling it?
    2) Does this car still have the original exhaust headers?
    3) Have the valve guides been addressed?
    4) Does everything on the car work properly?
    Thanks!

@JY993 Hello! Yes, there is a lien. Clear title. Unfortunately I don’t have any pics of the incident. It happened with the 3rd owner and I did get a chance to connect with him via text before we listed the car and he clarified it was a nick on the right rear bumper. Thus the quote below! :) I do have pics from the X-OST install for the buyer. :)

  • JY993 1 year, 9 monthsago

Great car! Could you please clarify if there is a lien on the car? Also, any photos of slight accident? Thank you.

  • jenniferver2 (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

@Loremar here is a quote from the owner at the time, “a truck bumped me on the highway, on the right rear fender. Cosmetic only!” So he had the entire rear bumper refinished as well as repainted. That was it.

  • Loremar (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

Beautifully kept car, condition across the board is great, I have same spec and my ebrake looks the same with fraying leather with 15k miles and highlighting that would give me great confidence in buying knowing you've disclosed such things. Good luck with the sale but sorry for your loss! ;)

@Torqee997 of course! Last full service was completed just about a month ago! All receipts and records are, of course, included. :) I love it too! Thanks for watching.

Could you please give the dates on the last service? Love these cars!
