We are pleased to present this 1995 Ferrari F355 GTS finished in Rosso Corsa over a tan leather interior. Among the rarest and most desirable F355's of all, this 1995 GTS 6-speed features a removable Targa top and gated manual shifter as well as a one-year-only OBD1 Motronic 2.7 configuration, allowing for easier maintenance, diagnostics, and tuning. This GTS was originally sold from Lake Forest Ferrari of Illinois before changing hands with its second and third owners in Minnesota. It was eventually acquired by the current owner in 2018 when it was treated to a full engine-out service at a cost of over $17k which included new timing belts, a clutch, upgraded steel valve guides, and much more. With just over 15k miles showing on the odometer this highly sought after F355 GTS is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Jersey.
The Pininfarina-designed bodywork is finished in the classic shade of Rosso Corsa and features a rare color-matched removable Targa top. The F355 features distinctive design elements including large side air intakes, pop-up headlights, and a louvered rear engine cover. The seller notes that the hood and front bumper have been previously refinished for cosmetic purposes, and a few chips can be seen on the edges of the wheel arches from normal road-going wear, additional photos are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report. This example rides on factory 18” 5-spoke wheels that come dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport tires showing date codes from 2018.
Inside, this F355 is upholstered with tan Connolly leather as well as matching carpets and a black upper dashboard. Some notable details include embossed Cavallino Rampante headrest logos, analog Veglia instrumentation, drilled aluminum pedals, and a gated 6-speed manual shifter. Additional factory equipment includes electric door locks, power windows, heated exterior mirrors, tinted glass, and automatic climate control. A Sony stereo has been equipped and all the common sticky interior parts have been corrected with white arrows and insignias as specified from the factory. The seller notes there is no shrinkage on the leather dashboard or airbag cover, and that the seat bolsters remain in very good condition. All gauges and accessories are said to remain fully functional.
This F355 GTS carries a mid-mounted 3.5L V8 DOHC engine featuring dry-sump lubrication and an output of up to 375 HP. A highly sought-after 6-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential drives the rear wheels allowing for a 0-60 time of approximately 4.3 seconds and a top speed of nearly 190 MPH. The exhaust has been upgraded with Fabspeed headers, header blankets, and a Fabspeed muffler bypass pipe. The original catalytic converters remain in place. The one-year-only OBD1 Motronic 2.7 system eliminates some of the emission checks and issues associated with the later versions. Furthermore, this car does not require the remote key fob to deactivate the system to start. A major engine-out service was completed in 2018 at a cost of over $17K including new timing belts, a new clutch, upgraded steel valve guides, cam tensioner bearing, gaskets, plugs, wires, hoses, fluids, and an A/C system refresh. The crank position sensor was also replaced in 2018 and an annual fluid and filter service was performed in 2020 along with the installation of a new exhaust bypass valve. Corresponding records will be included with the sale and images of the underside are provided in the photo gallery.
This sale will include the original window sticker, owner’s manuals, toolkit, car cover, and a clean title. With its classic color combination, gated manual transmission, and considerable service history, this 1995 GTS is a perfect choice for any discerning enthusiast in search of a Ferrari F355.

I own a 355 f1 spider and I was worried about all the comments but the love for this car went beyond . I understood how to operate the electric top that is little slow compared to new convertible generations but it works fine and you just have to wait when you hear a beep during the process of opening and closing the capote .At the end the pleasure of being able to feel the breeze in your hair is the mosts rewarding thing you could get from her and enjoy her sound of this unique heart ?? With “cinquevalvole”per cylinder ! the one and only Ferrari engine built with this typical structure . Have fun guys

I have seen this car in person, and it is incredible. Based on the other productive and positive comments about this vehicle, I too believe it is a worthy investment based on the vehicle's relevance and excellent condition.

@Miamicane94 Mine is a GTS. I agree that I get a bit nervous about the electric top on the convertibles. However, a friend has one and has never had an issue. I think a few angry people make a commotion and it becomes gospel that all these cars are so hard to take care of. People also forget this is one of the last Ferraris you can work on yourself in the garage with a few hand tools. There's such a nice simplicity about this car - even if it is a pretty complicated car for its time.
You may think prices are high now (and they are) but maybe you could some fluctuation in the next year or two, but Id bet these cars keep going up overall. If you want to flip a car, this may not be the one. If you wan one of the best Ferraris to drive with timeless good looks, then get one and be happy. If you own it for 5 years or more you will have gotten your money's worth and it will still be appreciating.
In hindsight, would you hace bought a well sorted Dino for 150k? Those used to be peanuts and now they are all 250k plus.
And to echo others, its not 15k for a major. Sure you could pay to do other things while you are in there, but thats certainly not every 5 years (some owners go 7 years). The quote for a 355 major at my shop is 7k.

@sgtpeper , being that you own one, I will take your opinion on maintenance and service with more weight than what I've read in forums.
Which 355 do you have? Convertibles can still be had for under 100k, but the top always worries me, and I would definitely consider spending up to 120k for a coupe and 130k on a GTS. I've loved the GTS since the car debuted and remember trying to find a clean one for around 50k 15 years ago.
Like you, I've owned some really special cars. Most depreciated, some I regret selling, but unfortunately space limitations prevented me from keeping them. Despite owning several modern super cars, I miss the analog feel of cars like the 355 and 993 porsches and am looking for a fun car for the weekends etc.
To that end though, I'm always very careful of the buying price. I am always thinking about the exit when buying, to minimize my downside.
I think these cars are appreciating because they are really the last of a breed. I have a '97 355 GTS as well as an R8 V10 6MT and have owned many other special cars over the years. The 355 is my favorite - easily. It feels special when you drive it. It sounds special when you drive it. I disagree that engine outs are 15k each time. It has been proven time and time again that this just isn't true. My car is at about the 5 year mark since the last major and in that time has needed almost nothing more than an oil change. These cars are stout when maintained well.
@Ringmeister @Ringmeister, yes, this car will sell for over $150k with the auction fee and IMO that's ridiculously high, especially considering almost all F355 are manuals. And to answer why am I bidding, if you notice I haven't bid again since the bidding went north of 130k. I'm willing to take a 10-15k hit on a car, but these post pandemic prices will come down. I traded my 458 spider for $165k to a dealer when I purchased my Huracan Evo before the pandemic and now they are selling for $250k.
Prices are going through the roof and they won't continue. It's not sustainable. Anyone who wants to argue so, I will point back to 1999 when the valets were giving me .com "stock tips" and saying Warren Buffett didn't know how to invest in the "new economy."
99% of these cars are ultimately toys that may go up or down. The same thing is happening in the watch market right now. People are paying $40k for steel Rolex Daytonas. Is it worth it? Will they keep going up? Maybe temporarily, but the market will settle back down again. It always does.
Who ever wins this auction will get a beautiful car and I hope they enjoy it very much. Just be prepared for a strong possibility that the car may devalue in the future before it will go up again.
@Miamicane94 if this car is “ridiculous money”, why are you bidding? Also, a professional Major Service is every six years and approx. $7500, not every three years and $15,000. Meanwhile these cars continue to appreciate in value as the newer cars stay stagnant or fall in value. The 355 is the best sounding and best looking modern Ferrari IMO, and this is about as good as they get.

Based on the latest sales results this is a $200k+ car, IMO.
sorry to belabor, it appears from the invoice for the service in 2018 that the substrate is missing from the catalytic converters. that likely explains why it failed CA smog, and replacements/rebuilds (~$3500 ea) will be needed for CA buyers.

@curvesurfer thanks for the question. Based on the fact that it still has its catalytic converters in place and it lived there for a bit, it should pass. With that said, and since I am in NJ, I cannot guarantee that it would pass CA Smog.

@jbauto You are so right on all accounts with the 1995. The only reason this car didn't get the Fabspeed Mini Cats or bypass tubes is the previous owner had the car in California for a bit and was worried about emission testing out there. This car is truly one of my favorites.
Drive a 993 Carrera S, and then drive this and tell me with a straight face the 993 is more fun;). This is the perfect spec 355.
With guides, headers and clutch done, the only thing left is the Cats. OBD-1 is less strict on strategy and protocol. Less C-E lites by far. Last year of no emissions tests in most states. Remove the cats and install Fabspeed tubes for wicked sound.
