A lifelong West Coast car, this 1995 Ferrari F355 Spider was sold new from Ferrari of Los Gatos, California, finished in the rare shade Verde Mugello Metallic over Beige Connolly leather.  Its naturally aspirated V8 is paired with a gated 6-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. Having undergone an engine-out service within the last 1k miles, this stunning F355 Spider is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Colorado showing just over 44k miles on the odometer accompanied by the original books, tools, window sticker, and service records.

The Pininfarina-designed bodywork came factory finished in the exotic, seldom-seen color of Verde Mugello Metallic (608).  Equipment includes a black convertible top with tan boot cover, a Challenge-style rear grille, and silver-painted 18” magnesium wheels dressed in new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.  Some stone chips are noted on the front end as well as some touch-ups on the door edges, and the front bumper is said to have been previously refinished for cosmetic purposes. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is appointed with Beige Connolly leather upholstery covering the seats, door panels, and lower dashboard as well as the center console which houses a gated manual shifter and upgraded carbon fiber trim. Matching trim pieces have also been added to the inner sills, door handles, and instrument surrounds.  Factory equipment includes automatic climate control, electric windows, heated and power-operated mirrors, electric door locks, and a power-assist soft top. Minor areas of the seat bolsters have been re-dyed, the upper part of the dashboard leather has shrunk in some areas, and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.

This F355 carries a mid-mounted 3.5L V8 DOHC engine featuring dry-sump lubrication and an output of up to 375 HP.  A 6-speed manual transmission drives the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential and stopping power comes from four-wheel ventilated disc brakes with ABS.  The most recent engine-out service completed in 2019 at 43,478 miles included new timing belts, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, fluids, and filters.  A corresponding invoice is provided in the gallery along with a collection of older maintenance records.

This sale will include the original owner’s manuals, tools, window sticker, service records, and a clean title.

@sharkhunter84 we don't do Financing here, but we can assist with sending to outside options. That said it is probably easier to get the funding yourself upfront.

  • sharkhunter84 (registered bidder) 1 year, 10 monthsago

Awesome car, used to live in Spring. Can you offer financing through the dealership or do i have to bring outside money? Thanks!

I have a 98 F1 Spider, Rosso Corsa and Tan and it is a joy every time I take it out. I really liked this green, looks so nice. Almost every time I take the car out someone tells me how beautiful it is. Chances are if you take it to a Cars and Coffee you will be the only one for whatever reason. Not that it makes any difference, but this car is actually rated at 380 hp this year. I know the new owner will love this car. No luck is needed with this car or auction!!!!!

@VikingH Extremely helpful information and appreciate the sill pictures. Thank you!

  • VikingH (seller) 1 year, 10 monthsago

@Philly_FcarGuy updated door sill photos have been added. The carbon is in good shape, it is a solid 1/4 to 3/8ths piece of carbon and the silver metal sits on top where the "ferrari" cutout is. They are full carbon, not a sticker.

    On the exhaust questions.

I found a service ticket in 1997 where "tube Style Mufflers 95-97" were installed. Parts cost of 3500.
I found another mention in 9-28-06 during a major service when "tube Exhaust Manifolds" at a parts cost of $5,695 were installed at 34109 miles.

    Hope this answers your questions.

@Philly_FcarGuy Good morning. I will try and get closer pictures on the sills this AM when I get to the car. The exhaust is tubi and I have no additional parts. It has passed Smog in Cali since installed per the service receipts, and I will look to see if there is a complete explanation of the system on the records shortly as well.

  • Philly_FcarGuy (registered bidder) 1 year, 10 monthsago

Absolutely stunning color! Question about door sill panels - picture 55 looks like it’s an older original style from the side. Are the sill covers full carbon or is it just a sticker? And what’s going on with the ‘e’ on the driver side sill? Also, looks like a Tubi exhaust but do you have any info on the headers and cats? Assuming they would have been replaced by now but would be nice to know what’s in there currently. Apologies if I missed that info somewhere. GLWA!

@CallNine11 the car is in Texas. North side of houston, in an area called The Woodlands.

Hi, do you have the original interior parts and door sill that were replaced with the carbon? The door sills "Ferrari" looks way off, please let me know.Thank you

I was the owner of a 1997 355 spider and loved owning this car for five years. It was the first Ferrari that represented the brand rebirth and current generation of success - this model is superb. If you check history, Gianni Agnelli had several green Ferraris, so this color is correct and proper.

@wildrnesxperienc god afternoon, I looked in the stack of records and a hand written note says that the valve guides were done at 34000 miles during another Major service which would have been in 2006-2007 based on the mileage log on carfax. I Also found a ticket where exhaust gaskets were replaced in 2018.

@wildrnesxperienc thanks for your questions. you can see on the latest complete major service done in 2019, the technician says he checked the valves and they were operating properly in the notes. I will also look through the stack of other records and see if I see any other mention.

  • wildrnesxperienc 1 year, 10 monthsago

Thanks. Looked at the service records you have- any idea if the valves/guides/exhaust manifolds have had their dreaded issues and whether they’ve already been sorted out if so?

  • VikingH (seller) 1 year, 10 monthsago

@Albertnigri thanks for your question, the dash is shrinking in spots and there are two ways to handle if you wanted to address it. because it isn't that bad, you could probably re-stretch the current leather and keep it, or you could buy a new leather piece which is readily available and re-wrap it with that.

  • VikingH (seller) 1 year, 10 monthsago

    @wildrnesxperienc yes it does.

  • Albertnigri (registered bidder) 1 year, 10 monthsago

Are the rips and other issues on the dash repairable?

What is the condition of the top and tires?

    Thanks

This will be interesting. Recent sales of manual-shift 355s have been very strong indeed, and this car is in an unusual and handsome color which suits it very well. Also fairly recent major service.

It's interesting to me that Ferrari SpA hasn't gotten the message on manual-shift car sales- either that or they are ignoring it. If I not mistaken, the current Ferrari lineup of new cars includes only paddle-shift F1 cars- in other words, automatics. Perhaps they feel that the customer group paying very high prices for older Ferraris with manual transmissions would not be the same customer group who buy new or newer Ferraris.

I don't dispute that F1 transmission cars shift faster than manuals, and that on a race track F1 cars have a distinct advantage. But most of us (even Ferrari owners) are drivers of ordinary skill, perhaps slightly better than ordinary, and in actual fact it is a lot more fun to drive a manual-shift car than an F1. Especially early F1 transmission cars- such as the 355. In the case of the 355, I think the manual transmission, as in this car, has the edge over the F1 in desirability. And possibly drivability as well.

@bigbeah the car had aftermarket shields that ere taken off, just the stickers. and yes, I will try and get some close up pictures of the dash today. the only shrinkage is on the black top portion.

  • bigbeah (registered bidder) 1 year, 10 monthsago

@bigbeah sorry I just noticed it does not*** have the shields, brain fart. In the description above (in the first paragraph) it says it does.

Hello, would you be able to provide some close up pictures of the shrunken leather on the passenger airbag portion and also the upper dash. Also, are the fender Scuderia Shields factory installed or are they aftermarket stick-on type?

Has the top been serviced and in working order? Does it have any airbag issues or is the light on?

@garth66 thanks for the question. All the buttons have been inspected and there is NO sticky anywhere. Knowing this issue I would say they have been replaced as they are in as new condition.

  • garth66 (registered bidder) 1 year, 10 monthsago

How about sticky buttons/switches? Are any of them sticky/tacky? Has the car experienced this issue and has it been addressed, or is there any evidence of stickiness? Thanks!
