Produced from 1986 to 1995, the Jeep Wrangler YJ is the first generation of the Wrangler series, succeeding the Jeep CJ (Civilian Jeep) line. Finished in red over gray upholstery, this final-year example is powered by an optional 4.0-liter inline-six paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. This Jeep is said to have been imported to Germany upon the initial delivery and was brought back to the U.S. in March 2023. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida showing approximately 98,500 kilometers (61k miles) on the odometer.
The YJ debuted with a modernized front fascia including square-shaped headlights and fog lights. This truck comes finished in red contrasted with a black hardtop along with matching mirrors, fenders, and rockers. Equipment includes a folding windshield, chrome front grille, custom rear bumper mounts, and 15” alloy wheels with older Bridgestone Dueler H/T tires. The cabin presents gray cloth seats contrasted with a black vinyl dashboard, center console, and door panels. Equipment includes a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, a 100-mph speedometer, a tachometer, various supplementary gauges, climate controls, and an upgraded stereo. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.
Beneath the hood lies an optional 4.0-liter six-cylinder engine which generates as much as 180 HP and 220 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels wheels through an AX-15 5-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The CARFAX report shows a maintenance inspection, battery replacement, and oil & filter change to have been performed in March 2023.
