Up for auction is this 1995 Land Rover Defender 110 300TDi. Imported from the U.K. in September of 2021 and treated to a full restoration by Rugged Pursuits of Texas, this Defender received a bare-metal repaint in its original shade of Alpine White and was rebuilt with new hinges, stainless hardware, gaskets, and handles, in addition to a slim aluminum roof rack with a ladder, LED lighting, new wheels and tires, a Puma hood, a Mantec snorkel, a reupholstered interior, and more. Showing just over 71k miles on the odometer, this restored Defender 110 is now being offered for auction by its seller in Texas.

This Defender 110 was stripped down to bare metal and repainted in its original color of Alpine White (LRC456) including a black roof, Puma hood, fender flares, “110” fender graphics, and black headlight bezels. New hinges, stainless steel hardware, rubber gaskets, and door handles were installed as well. Accessories include a slim aluminum roof rack with a rear ladder, a steel front bumper, LED headlamps, an Adventurer grille, a black steering guard, a NAS-style rear step, Fire and Ice side steps, a swing-out tire carrier, mudflaps, tinted privacy glass, a Mantec snorkel, and an A/C nose cone, although this example does not have air conditioning. The 16” SVX alloy wheels have been mounted with new Firestone Destination XT all-terrain tires.  The undercarriage is said to have been coated in wax oil for protection, detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The righthand-drive interior has been fitted with a new black headliner, carpeting, dashboard finisher, retrimmed Puma front and second-row seats with leather bolsters and cloth centers, and new black jump seats and safety belts in the rear. Amenities include an aftermarket CD player and a locking storage cubby.

This Defender 110 is powered by a 2.5L 300Tdi turbodiesel inline-four rated at 111 HP and 195 lb.-ft of torque, driving all four wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case with a locking center differential. The vehicle is reported to have received consistent MOT inspections while in the U.K. as verified by the official database. During the restoration, the seller has replaced the belt tensioner, tie rods, and steering dampener in addition to oil service.

This sale will include a clean title and a full-sized spare.

Is this the same truck from Historic Motoring in the UK? Looks identical.

@ruggedpursuits , plz allow me to clarify. I don’t mean to imply the truck is a rust bucket/lost cause, but the waxoyl application complicates our ability to determine how clean the chassis is/isn’t. Pictures 71, 75, 79, 82, and 83 show the bubbling metal around the spring perches that I’m referring to.

I remain interested at the current price.

@ionyota there is no bubbling. Our repeat partner in the U.K did this work and it was done with integrity. When there is rust to be covered it always shows through ultimately. This truck is an example of a really tidy restoration job that was done thoughtfully on a truck with good bones. It is solid with low mileage. It is not rusted. This is a great example of a well-maintained 110.

@ionyota My same concern. There is a lot that looks great here - maybe some pics of before the repaint would give a better understanding of the condition before restoration.

If you don’t have pictures of the chassis prior to the waxoyl application, I think it’s a bit disingenuous to say the chassis is rot free. Waxoyl covers up the sins, so it’s darn near impossible to know. There appears to be a fair bit of corrosion on the frame near all/most of the spring perches - you can see the uneven surface on the frame (looks like bubbling paint, where it should be flat).

@CBRacerX Unfortunately that was done prior to our purchase. The underneath is waxoyled which is standard for the U.K. It is rot free and steam-cleaned. The underneath is in excellent condition.

I like this a lot, but wish there were images of the undercarriage before the heavy use of undercoating all over the place.

Welcome to our auction! Please feel free to reach out with questions. Whether it’s additional photos, videos or questions-we are here to help! We are a small family business that imports and refurbishes only a handful of Rovers a year. We think of these as our own and make sure they are cars we would want to keep ourselves-until it’s time for them to find their next adventure. We love this Landy and hope it finds a great home.
