@Spokayman Something to consider. The interior Color greatly effects the way the paint looks and photographs. A black interior would make the color look deeper. This color interior brightens the exterior and makes it look incredible. Color combo is everything. This is a winner!

@Spokayman Correct it is a rather difficult color to capture. Blueish at some angles.. greenish at others. Really is fantastic in the sunlight.

I don't use filters and I typically shoot at night when no light is coming through the windows as the lighting in my facility I chose strategically for optimal lighting but on this particular day I shot during daylight hours. Truly is a remarkable and striking color.

  • Spokayman (registered bidder) 4 yearsago

The lighting, photo exposure, or filter(s) used in the photography here cast the color as blueish as well as lighter in tone than Aventurine actually appears to the human eye.

The photos in the earlier auction (noted in a comment below) show the color more realistically, and perhaps even darker than it appears in real life.
This is a difficult color to photograph.
Various photos of the color can be found online and show the color in a variety of different lighting situations.

    Beautiful car. Good Luck bidders!

  • vintiquemotors (seller) 4 yearsago

@Mammothcar you asked if the car had been repainted. I replied no it has not been repainted to my knowledge and appears to be original paint.

The area in question on the front fender is a minor mark. Upon closer inspection a few minutes ago it appears to have a minor amount of touch up paint applied. Not repainted and there is no physical damage to the fender.

No attempt on my part to discredit the car. It's just too easy to find information with the advent of VIN number listing. I think hiding VIN numbers on other selling sites is a black flag.
Transparency and respect for a buyer is what sells cars, or anything else for that matter.
Flaky buyers are everywhere. Losing the deposit is good practice to keep everyone honest.

  • Mammothcar (registered bidder) 4 yearsago

@Slim_Chance Thanks for posting this! I asked the seller about the discoloration on the front fender. He simply wrote it off as a "minor character mark". The info in your post provides a more transparent background of this car.

Like to add that BaT charged him the 5% buyer fee which amounted to $1,900 and after he flaked on following through with purchase I reported it to BaT and he was banned from the site. He never answered phone calls nor emails and never came to see the car which was very surprising seeing as he had been a BaT member for a number of years and had serious bids on over 40 cars.

To clarify the sale did not fall through for any reason relating to this car. Just a deadbeat bidder.

  • vintiquemotors (seller) 4 yearsago

@Slim_Chance the car was never sold in that BaT auction. Reserve was lowered at that point in time to facilitate a sale but the buyer was a flake and the car never changed hands.

    Thanks good info slim chance..

Car sold for $38,000 last year. Touch up on front fender per the listing.
"The body is finished in Aventurine Green, and the Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage. Chips and other blemishes are noted on the lower valances and door sills. An area of touched-up damage on the front fender is shown up close in the gallery."

This is a handsome exterior/interior combination. FWIW, you can't over-rev a Tip (or PDK for that matter) . Great unpretentious do-it-all with style Porsche. Good luck!

Wanted to say I've been a long time follower of PCar and this is my first time listing a car on the platform and I want to thank everyone for the interest, comments, and bids thus far.

I welcome inspections and I'll be monitoring the auction and respond quickly to any questions so please feel free to ask.

I can also assist in setting up transportation as I have great relationships with reputable transporters that enables very attractive rates.

  • vintiquemotors (seller) 4 yearsago

@Mammothcar It is believed the car has never received any paintwork. There are minor character marks from use over the last 25yrs centered on the front bumper and passenger side fender by the wheel well which is what you are seeing.
