We are pleased to present this 1995 Porsche 993 Carrera 4 Coupe finished in Polar Silver over a Classic Grey interior.  Debuted with completely redesigned bodywork, an all-new multi-link rear suspension, and 6-speed manual transmission, this 993 generation represents the final evolution of the air-cooled Porsche 911.  This all-wheel-drive Carrera 4 model came factory optioned with heated power-operated front seats, a rear window wiper, and an electric sunroof.  It has had three owners since new and was under the care of its last owner since 2003.  Maintained by the original selling Porsche dealer for much of its life and with recent service carried out in preparation for sale, this 993 Carrera 4 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of North Carolina with just over 95k miles on the odometer.

This 1995 example comes finished in Polar Silver and features a unique twin-grille rear decklid sourced from a 993 Carrera S model.  The original standard decklid is also said to accompany the sale.  A two-stage paint correction has been recently carried out and the seller describes the finish to have been well preserved apart from two chips and a scratch on the driver’s door.  Paint meter readings are said to be consistent throughout the exterior excluding the driver’s side rear quarter panel, which the seller believes to have been touched up at some point under prior ownership.  Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. This 993 rides on a set of factory 17” Cup 2 wheels with “Carrera 4” logo center caps. These wheels come dressed BF Goodrich tires dated from 2016 with approximately 2k miles of use.

Inside, you will find a Classic Grey interior with factory heated 8-way power seats.  Other optional features include a rear window wiper, sound system, cruise control, a sunroof, and an onboard computer.  An aftermarket stereo has been installed as well.  The cabin shows to have been very well maintained and the seller reports all instrumentation and accessories to remain fully functional.

This 993 is equipped with an air-cooled 3.6L flat-six engine that sends as much as 272 HP to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission.  Renowned for its handling capabilities and refined ride, the 993 generation featured a new alloy multi-link rear suspension and an upgraded power steering system. The maintenance log shows service stamps from the original selling dealer from new up until 75k miles, and CARFAX shows continual service through the same dealer up until 85k miles.  An oil service is said to have been completed in May of 2021 followed by an A/C service in July of 2021.  The seller is currently in the process of obtaining a pre-purchase inspection and compression test.

This sale will include the original owner's manuals, air compressor, spare tire, and a clean title.  A nicely presented example of the 993 generation, this Carrera 4 Coupe is a perfect choice for any air-cooled Porsche enthusiast.

  • bdonahue54 (seller) 2 years, 6 monthsago

@696 Unaware of a top end, clutch is original. The car holds exceptional oil pressure. Does not consume oil or smoke whatsoever. The PPI indicated the clutch grabs " all the way at the top" to which I would politely disagree with.Having driven my fair share of 3.6 cars, it grabs where it should. Oh well! Lastly, I did not have a leakdown performed. I make no promises, but I will attempt to have it done prior to auction end. This car is stout. I'd love to throw the keys to the new owner in person. It's driving season after all!

Has it had a top end, clutch or any other major repair that you know of?

Btw,it looks like a nicely preserved car.

Good morning folks. I know the seller well and he is a straight shooter who is passionate about older Porsches. I had the pleasure of seeing and driving this car. It is an absolute gem. The steering wheel and transmission feel tight and it just loves to be in the upper RPM ranges. I hope this car finds a great new owner.

@696 The extent of the bubbles are shown there in that photo. Minimal in comparison to some other infected 993s. No there are no leaks on the cowl/ windshield. The 993 was notorious for this, moisture traps under the seal. I’m happy to capture more specific photos at your request.

  • 696 (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

Could you provide more details on the apparent rust bubbles along the base of the windshield? Is this present on both sides and how big of an area is it. Any leaks around the windshield?

Hello folks! Welcome to my auction listing. Fortunately, I've had the experience of owning a plethora of aircooled 911s. While each generation showcases a unique experience, they certainly all give you that special feeling rowing through the gears, engaging you, the driver every mile the car travels. With that being said, this feeling can be wear away, and feel jaded with quirks and issues, that naturally come with owning a classic car.
Well, the 993 is special for that reason. They just work. The A/C actually works. Common oil leaks resulting in engine tear down bills such as base gasket leaks were engineered out. The multi link suspension resulted in the ride quality feeling like a Porsche. Gone are the days of single stage paint that always results in inevitable swirl marks. A showroom quality finish is possible on any garage kept, factory paint 993 like this one. It was just right.

Aside from this, these cars are extremely robust. Even in comparison to the 964, the build quality on items like the interior plastics, exterior reflectors, and an odometer and speedometer that finally worked its whole life! Imagine that?

This car is your Swiss army knife. You can drive it everyday, anywhere you like. You turn the key and the car works. But, you shut the door and it still makes that clunk that will never grow tired. The 993 still retains all of the special attributes that make an aircooled 911 unique. ( Save for the smell of oil in the cabin )

This '95 C4 is no exception. You've got the 3.6L with the bump in power over the 964, without the headache of Varioram and pricey engine out secondary air injection services. Aside from this, the '95 is the only 993 that is pre OBD1 and still has the capability of running an engine chip in the DME.
This car is certainly a great example of a driver quality car. I consider it to be Driver Grade+ The original paint shows so well, with great clarity and reflection in any lighting situation. Admittedly, Polar Silver was never my favorite color. After acquiring this car, I certainly understand it. The way it changes in different light is amazing. Sure, you can nitpick a flaw here and there. The previous custodian, a longtime PCA member, has cared for the car remarkably. This is felt each and every time you sit in the car. The seats are in fantastic shape, retaining the same shape and rigidity from leaving the factory. The leather has worn extremely well even in comparison to super low mile garage queen examples. The steering wheel, door cards, dashboard, and other plastic components are free of cracks and sun wear. The car runs, pulls, and sounds very strong. Oil pressure is pinned past the 5 bar mark on cold start. No smoke. No odd noises ( Please omit the small noises on the drive along video, I don't know why the camera picked this up. There is not even windnoise in this car)
This car is ready to be driven and enjoyed, which is what I hope the next caretaker decides to do with the car.
