Now available is this rare 1995 Porsche 928 GTS automatic finished in Black over a black interior.  Denoted as #51 out of 77 examples built for the U.S. market during the final year of production, this GTS marked the pinnacle of the 928 series with its wider rear fenders, Cup wheels, and powerful 5.4L V8 engine. Now showing approximately 113k miles on the odometer, this highly collectible 928 is being listed by its seller in Pennsylvania accompanied by original books, tools, Cup wheels, service records and the original California title.

The Black paint is said to be in great overall condition having recently undergone full paint correction at a cost of over $3K. This GTS can be distinguished by its wide rear fenders, aero mirrors, continuous rear light band, and body-colored rear wing. This example has been equipped with genuine Porsche 18" Panamera wheels, and the original Cup wheels are also included in the sale along with a set of brand-new Continental tires.

The black leather interior remains very well presented.  The dashboard has been replaced and customized with some Alcantara upholstery added to the upper portion and airbag panel. A rare aftermarket Sharkwoofer sound system has been integrated along with an aftermarket radio. The center armrest was also custom reupholstered in suede and leather by Paul Champagne. Factory options include power comfort seats in supple leather, air conditioning with rear vents, and an electric sliding sunroof. The seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.

This 928 GTS showcases a 5.4 L 32-valve DOHC V8 engine capable of sending 345 HP and 369 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 4-speed automatic transaxle.  An upgraded stainless-steel exhaust has been installed and the engine brace and valve covers have been professionally powder-coated.  This GTS is said to be in exceptional driving condition with all maintenance up to date including the following items earlier in 2020.

  • PSE Pump Replaced
  • Flexplate Inspected
  • New Fender Liner
  • Replace Heater Control Valve
  • Fluid and Filter Service
  • New Battery

This sale will include a set of 2 keys, original books and tools, the factory Cup wheels, service records, the original California title, and a clean title in the seller’s name.  One of the rarest and most sought after transaxle Porsche’s of all time, this U.S. market 928 GTS is a true collector’s item.

@linderpat I believe you know the former owner James, he had 14 of these beauties at one time. I bought this one when he sold a few to buy a handicapped-accessible house 3 years ago.

@DonM Great question - The airbags ARE functional. The work was done by Classic 9 in Michigan, they ensured the airbag was not disrupted when they made the new dash.

  • Abuong01 (seller) 3 yearsago

@mtharbertmac.com Last replaced 2017 at roughly 112k miles. I haven't put much mileage on the car in the past 3+ years, most of the time spent improving the interior, working on a few maintenance items as shown on recent receipts and removing the wrap that was on by former owner. Black paint is gorgeous due to being wrapped, I had it paint corrected (wet sanded) late last year after having the wrap removed.

Has the timing belt been replaced?

  • DonM (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Are the airbags functional? Looks like the passenger airbag is covered in alcantara.

@Abuong01 agreed it would be expensive labor and re-Powdercoating.

  • Abuong01 (seller) 3 yearsago

@buccicone understand. Appreciate the feedback. I did. Check into buying replacement parts, not overly expensive although labor will add to the cost.

  • buccicone (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Not a fan of the colors in the engine bay and intake hoses. Really out of character for an otherwise nice GTS. Too much purist in me. GLWTA.

@BlackWaterH20 Options list document posted today.

  • Abuong01 (seller) 3 yearsago

@BlackWaterH20 thank you. I wanted this car to be as clean and "new" as possible. Its very fun to drive even with the auto trans.

  • BlackWaterH20 3 yearsago

@Abuong01 thanks, these are harder to find in condition like this, love the interior. Thanks for a quick response. Love the car.

  • Abuong01 (seller) 3 yearsago

@BlackWaterH20 the AC is fully functional. This car is one of the highest optioned 928 HTS produced according to 928 Registry. Tomorrow I can post the options list from the site.

  • BlackWaterH20 3 yearsago

List of options? A/C? AC work?

  • Abuong01 (seller) 3 yearsago

@phowley Thank you for posting your experience with the car.

  • phowley (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

@Abuong01 outstanding car inside and out.
Drove it and it certainly does everything it was designed to do.
    Perfect in every way.

  • Abuong01 (seller) 3 yearsago

@Adamsadd ha ha... Sort of, the former owner had 14 928's at one time, guess that made him."Prince" of 928s.
Pictures sent to Pcar of engine bay, undercarriage and sides of the car while on the lift.

Hi all, welcome to the auction of my 1995 928 GTS, #51 of the final 77 928 GTS produced for the NA market.
The engine bay was professionally powder coated by the former owner who had the Floor Mats and Hatch Mat custom made by Classic 9 in MI. I replaced the dash with a leather and alcantara custom dash also from Classic 9 along with the cluster pod in full leather. A recent check valve leak was repaired and there are no visible leaks front to back.
The car comes with OEM CUP wheels and zero-mile Conti Contact tires in OEM size. The wheels will need to be cosmetically refurbished although the wheels are perfect otherwise.
One item to note - The Carfax is clean but there was an incident with a deer when the former owner had the car in Texas. Driver side front quarter was damaged and replaced with OEM part from 928 International in CA. Quarter was recently repainted under my ownership after the vinyl wrap protecting the paint was removed late last year. The rear wing was repaired to fix common "cracks" that appear in the later model 928's. A wet sand was done, and the black paint really shines with very little to no flaws, swirls marks, holograms, etc.
I have not added a lot of miles to the car the past 3+ years having owned 10 other Porsche and a few other models over the past 5 years. The car is very nice and sounds great. I plan to get a start up and walk around video today as well as undercarriage and engine bay pictures.
Thanks for looking at the auction, please reach out if you have questions.

  • Adamsadd (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Beautiful example of a tastefully updated 928GTS - I would ask you to add some drive train pics as well as engine bay and ideally a shot of the undercarriage. - Also, what is up with the Purple mats? Was this formerly a car owned by Prince? LOL! Thanks!

  • Abuong01 (seller) 3 yearsago

@buccicone Yes, they should be uploaded later today.

  • buccicone (registered bidder) 3 yearsago
