Representing the last generation of the air-cooled 911, this 1995 Porsche 993 Carrera 4 Coupe comes finished in Midnight Blue Metallic over Cashmere leather upholstery and features a 6-speed manual transmission. Offering all-wheel drive performance, Carrera 4 is said to have been upgraded with a Steve Wong performance chip, an airbox mod, Rebel S Racing Performance engine mounts, a Fister stage 2 exhaust system, and more. This example is now being offered by its seller, a PCA member, out of Florida while showing approximately 104k miles on the odometer.

The 993 differs from its predecessor with rounder front and rear ends, a larger retractable rear spoiler, broader wheel arches, and flatter front fenders with new ellipsoid headlights. Other features include a rear brake light spoiler, dual exhaust outlets, and silver-finished brake calipers. This example comes finished in Midnight Blue Metallic (L93C) with an optional model designation deletion. It rides on upgraded 18” Turbo-look wheels with grey finished centers, matching center caps, and Michelin Pilot Super Sport 4S tires. Ceramic coating, paint correction, and areas of paint protection film are said to have been applied along with 50% window tint. The seller notes that remnants of treated rust are shown on the front and rear windscreens and states that the rust has not progressed within the last 5 years. Some signs of road wear are noted and detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing minor damage to have occurred in April 2011.

The cabin is appointed with Cashmere partial leather upholstery and features 8-way power-adjustable front seats with lumbar support. Equipment also includes a sunroof, power windows, automatic speed control, a Becker Porsche CR-1 cassette radio, a Nokia DSP audio system, and climate control. Modifications consist of tilted gauges, stainless steel pedals, and Rennline floorboards. Minor signs of wear are noted, and the seller adds that all gauges, electronics, and accessories are working properly.

Power is derived from an air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine that sends as much as 272 HP to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Renowned for its handling capabilities and refined ride, the 993 generation featured a new alloy multi-link rear suspension and an upgraded power steering system. Modifications include a Steve Wong performance chip, an airbox mod, Rebel S Racing Performance engine mounts, a Rothsport rack brace, polyurethane control arm bushings, and a Fister stage 2 exhaust system. The seller adds that notable service items include a differential fluid flush and alignment at approximately 93k miles, a tune-up at 92k miles, brake pads and rotors replaced at 90k miles, and the cooling dan shroud replaced at 89k miles. Additionally, the clutch and rear main seal are said to have been replaced. The seller also recommends recharging the air conditioning unit and repairing lower valve cover leaks.

This sale will include a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “I have owned the 993 for the last 7 years and it has been an absolute pleasure to own and drive. I am a PCA member with a few other P-cars both air-cooled and water-cooled. Since ownership, I have been the sole driver. I have made minor tasteful mods it enhances the driving experience. I have kept the vehicle maintenance up to date and have records available upon request. I have had the car ceramic coated and only hand washed since the paint correction. Looking forward to this well-cared-for air-cooled legend being passed to the next steward! Thank you for viewing my listing!”

@sjuhawks19 hello there was a rock that broke tread, no puncture or patch on tire.

  • sjuhawks19 (registered bidder) 8 monthsago

Is that a hole in the tire in picture 53?

@PorschePhanatic Hello ,Prior to listing I drove the 993 1200 miles over the course of the weekend with no issues, ~100 mile during listing. I would have to imagine the fan housing has been cracked before that. Had the car inspected for a potential buyer (financing fell through) and items of mention where valve lower cover leak(had bolts retightened and seem to help), key fob battery (replaced) sunroof seal (purchased not replaced).

In regards to top end PO mentioned a reseal, but I only have records of the 60K mile service at the dealer, with upper valve cover gaskets and full tune up. Along with another tune up under my ownership at 92 k ( I'd call these basic services with regular fluid flushes. Trans/ clutch ,RMS and other ancillary components serviced around 50K miles.

Front diff flushed @ 93k miles

As for corrosion I have noticed on some exhaust components when the Fister mufflers were installed some of which were replaced. I believe around the windscreens was the worst of the corrosion. Any other questions please feel free to ask.

    Cheers

    Hi seller.
Nice car. A few questions. Is the cracked fan previously mentioned pics 100-101? Seems like a serious issue to drive any significant distance.

Any top end rebuilds or trans refreshes? Or just basic service/fluids?

Has the front of the 4wd system been flushed and if so when?

Given the ownership in Mass and Illinois I suspect a lot of prior winter driving. Any underside rust or corrosion you noticed?
    Thanks

@RS136 hello, yes I believe you are correct ,crack is closer to hub than blade tip. This may be worth addressing at some point. However would not prevent the next owner from picking her up and driving it to new home.

@Ech33 Hello this was spot treated by PO. I had plans to do a glass out repair during Covid before a few family priority changes. Agreed with you on proper repair on what I believe to be a DIY band aide. That said, it did do the trick and the shops that I visited stated they would do the window out repairs and touchup any other blemishes for rea$onable fee while they had my car. I mention I had plans on repainting car, they stated if in the near future that I could hold off since rust doesn't seem to be getting worst. If I were going keep her plan was to do a full respray in the same color, hardback seats and possibly a 3.8L build along with a few other subtle mods! :-)

  • Ech33 (registered bidder) 8 monthsago

It says “signs of treated rust on the front and rear windscreens”. Did you treat this? Looks like someone just painted something over the rust. Common spot for rust on the 993’s, the glass has to be removed to repair correctly.

@AZCollector Hello, No SAI issues. In regards to the accident history, PO mentioned vehicle was backed into while parked at a parking structure by another employee. Stated it was low speed, but required the rear bumper to be resprayed. I have no photos of this unfortunately. As for the exhaust I only have the stock tips. I had to send in my stock mufflers to FD Motorsports so that Darin could use them as core , I also opted to have the exhaust and a set of turbo tips ceramic coated velvet black. They sound awesome!! They are very quite at idle, sound mean at cold start, no drone at highway speeds, but will make you smile at WOT! :-)

@Cgomoll I used to run my 964 and SC the same way.. with redline at 12 o’clock and 55-80 mph more visible when the wheel is turned during cornering on track..Kind of an old habit now as this is more cosmetic for daily driver. It can be always be rotated back .

What’s the reason for the tachometer and speedometer being sideways on the dash?

Can you provide more details on what was done during the tune up at 92,000 miles? Can you post receipts for mods and service done? Particularly last time plugs and plug wires were done. Close up pics of windshield rust repairs? Sunroof operates as it should no leaks? Pic of open tool kit would be nice. Thanks

Thank you! Yes, she is a treat to drive and own especially with such a great color combination! It's a perfect balance of a modern classic that can still be driven at any distance. I look forward to handing the torch to the next steward for their next 100K expedition in the 993! :-)

  • leigh (registered bidder) 8 months, 1 weekago
