Equipped with a 2.5-liter turbodiesel engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, this righthand drive 1996 Land Rover Defender 90 is said to have been previously used for emergency services by a member of the Sussex 4x4 Response volunteer group. It comes finished in blue over a grey cloth interior and features several modifications including halogen headlamps, LED accessory lights, an intake snorkel, and a replacement top with sliding rear windows. This Land Rover was imported from the U.K. and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida while showing approximately 131k miles on the odometer.
This Land Rover is finished in a dark blue metallic paint color with a contrasting white roof. The seller notes it originally left the factory as a station wagon and was converted with a replacement top under prior ownership including alpine and sliding rear windows. It has also been modified with upgraded halogen headlamps, an intake snorkel, LED side lights and indicators, emergency LED strobe lights, rear spotlights, side steps, and bonnet decals. It rides on a set of 16” Tornado alloy wheels with all-terrain tires and a matching rear-mounted spare. The seller notes some small dents, scuffs, and cosmetic imperfections to the bodywork as well as rust on the exterior hinges and rivets. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The black interior features adjustable front bucket seats, a rear bench seat, and two additional folding rear seats trimmed in patterned grey fabric. Accessories include rubber floor mats, a sunroof, manual window cranks, a fresh air vent, a heater, a cell phone mount, additional sound-deadening insulation, and an aftermarket Sony head unit with additional speakers. Some holes are noted in the vinyl seat sides as well as a blemish on one of the back seats and some areas of sagging headliner. All gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.
Power comes from a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder Tdi turbodiesel engine that drives all four wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. The clutch is said to have been replaced in 2019 along with the center and rear sections of the exhaust. The seller adds that the vehicle departed the U.K. with a valid and current MoT certificate.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a spare tire, service records, and a clean title.

@seller, to properly assess Defenders, we need to see pictures of all the common corrosion areas. For example, the floorboards, the bulkhead inside the engine bay, the bottom of the doors, all sides of the rear cross member.
Also, the undercarriage photos are severely lacking in quantity.
