One of the most sought-after variants of the final air-cooled 911, the Porsche 993 Carrera 4S shares its wide bodywork with the 911 Turbo and features a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine sending power to all four wheels. This 1996 example is finished in Arena Red Metallic over a Cashmere Beige and Black partial leather interior and is showing approximately 46k miles on the odometer. It was sold new from Plaza Motor Co. of Missouri equipped with the optional Power Seat Package and Porsche-crested headrests. The car also features a limited-slip differential, 18” 911 Turbo wheels, an electric sunroof, and an upgraded Fabspeed intake and exhaust. Accompanied by an original window sticker and handwritten maintenance logs, this Carrera 4S is now being auctioned by its seller out of Texas.
Compared to a standard 993 Carrera Coupe, the 4S features the widened bodyshell and bumpers of the 911 Turbo. This example is finished in Arena Red Metallic and rides on 18” 911 Turbo wheels with new Michelin Pilot Sport tires installed in 2023. Other equipment includes integrated front fog lights, heated and power-adjustable mirrors, a speed-activated rear spoiler, an electric sunroof, red brake calipers, and dual exhaust outlets. Accompanying records show the rear spoiler was refinished in 1996 and the rear bumper was replaced following damage in 1997. The CARFAX report also shows damage in 2004 with no further information provided. The seller adds that the rear quarter panel was refinished in 2023 to repair cosmetic damage sustained during the removal of a clear stone guard decal. Some stone chips are present on the front bumper, scrapes have been repaired beneath the lower front spoiler, and the undercarriage was recently cleaned with dry ice blasting. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Inside, this 993 is appointed with a Cashmere Beige and Black partial leather interior featuring optional power-adjustable front seats with Porsche-crested headrests. Accessories include air conditioning, power windows, cruise control, central locking doors, a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, and a factory CDR-210 stereo. The seller notes some wear is present on the outer driver’s seat bolster and records show the speedometer was removed and repaired in 2007.
An air-cooled 3.6-liter delivers up to 282 HP and 250 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. An upgraded Fabspeed Motorsport Supercup air intake and Fabspeed Maxflo exhaust system have been installed for increased sound and power output. Service records indicate the gearbox was overhauled with a new main shaft, 1st and 2nd gears, and synchronizers in 2003. Maintenance documentation is available dating back to 1996 is available along with handwritten maintenance and fuel logs.
This sale will include the original window sticker, owner’s manuals, service records, and a clean title.

@sixt7L36
The widow informed us that the Doctor backed in to the garage. The car bumper was not replaced.
I very much wish we had pictures from the past but we do not hence the paint readings and all the receipts.
I have looked at every picture and read every receipt. Not a lot of detail around the rear end damage. I read the receipt, but can’t determine if the bumper was replaced or just repaired. Any pictures of the damage prior to repair?

@RickMountain Thank you too! It is indeed rare to see these kind of records on cars. The last one I saw that came close to this was a Pilot here in Dallas that kept records on a 355 Ferrari. He even logged the barometric pressure in his log books for the car.
Porsche never said they replaced the odo. They removed it for repair. The mileage is factual and true. If you follow the Porsche service docs the mileage grows right along with the car. The Doctor took it to Porsche for anything the car needed.
@NHCarguy Thank you!
One of the most impressive record keeping series of photos I’ve ever seen… but they do raise a few questions: Picture 312: odometer not working - any details to determine if this car is TMU or not? And any idea why the check engine light seemed to come on so often per the records?
Stunning example. Excellent presentation. I absolutely love this car! GLWTS.

@LSCars, does the original exhaust system come with the car? Do both original keys come with the car? If so, can you upload a photo?
