One of the most sought-after models of the final air-cooled Porsche 911 generation, the Carrera 4S features wide Turbo-style bodywork, large brakes, and a naturally aspirated flat-six motor that sends power to all four wheels. Finished in Black over a matching partial leather interior, this 1996 example remained under the original owner’s care in California until 2024. It has been upgraded and modified with a rebuilt 3.8-liter engine, an RS clutch kit, an aftermarket exhaust system, Bilstein PSS9 coilovers, Turbo S-style fog lights, a 996 GT3 steering wheel, an aftermarket short shifter, 18” Fikse wheels, and a custom sound system. The car also features a limited-slip differential, xenon headlamps, a power sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, and power-adjustable front Sport Seats. Purchased by the seller in late 2024 and treated to a major service, this 3.8-powered Carrera 4S is now being offered for auction out of Florida with approximately 106k miles on the odometer.
Compared to a standard 993 Carrera 4, the 4S model shares its wide bodyshell and bumpers with the contemporary 911 Turbo. This example is finished in Black and features xenon headlights, Turbo S-style front brake duct fog lights, clear corner lights, an electric sunroof, a speed-activated rear spoiler, dual exhaust outlets, red brake calipers, and polished 18” Fikse FM10 wheels. The car rides on Michelin Pilot Sport tires showing production date codes from 2021 and 2023. The seller notes signs of age on the rear stone guards, a bent right-side exhaust tip, scuffs on the front bumper, and paint cracks on the rear bumper. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The black interior features power-adjustable leather Sport Seats, a three-spoke 996 GT3 leather steering wheel, aluminum RUF pedal covers, and an aftermarket short shifter. Other accessories include power windows and door locks, automatic climate control, cruise control, a Passport radar detector and laser jammer, an Alpine head unit, a McIntosh amplifier, and aftermarket speakers. The passenger-side window switch and motor were reportedly replaced in 2024.
The air-cooled flat-six engine was rebuilt and upgraded to a 3.8-liter displacement in 2009. It delivers power to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transaxle with an RS clutch kit and a limited-slip differential. The engine is equipped with an aftermarket exhaust system and the suspension has been modified with Bilstein PSS9 coilovers. The steering rack is said to have been rebuilt in 2014 along with the installation of new sway bar bushings, and the CV boots were replaced in 2024. Maintenance performed since the seller’s purchase includes engine service, A/C service, and a wheel alignment.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, the original window sticker, and a clean title.

@AirCooledLife I mean no offense, I’m just asking about the stalling comment made by the technician on the invoice in picture 117. Do you have a driving video?
@6thinline9 Lol,
No issues whatsoever, best running C4S we've had. Kept revs high cause I enjoy exhaust sound.
Best
@AirCooledLife Would like to see a driving video … imagine you’ve got to keep the revs up at all times to prevent stalling, as the benefits of the light flywheel also means it’s drops rpms down quickly … resulting in stalling. Maybe @Sonnypatel can chime in here.
@AirCooledLife, per the receipts, the lightened flywheel is causing a stall while shifting into 2nd. Has this been addressed at all (with some ECU mods)? And speaking of mods—anything that might fail CA smog test (exhaust)?
@woodsy
We agree!
Never enjoyed driving an aircooled more than this one.
I don't know if I've seen a cooler example
@Sonnypatel
Appreciate your comments, and they are indeed accurate.
Best running C4S I've ever driven.
RS fast.
Thx for service history with ALL receipts.
Good job with the exhaust
@dadbug
I sold it a few months after I bought it to buy other cars, nothing wrong with it. I put it though its paces.

I've been going thru all service history of this car and it's truly amazing .
I'll be posting in the morning a few of the big ticket items, including a full rebuilt with RS cams and 3.8 pistons ,at a total cost of $15, 768, done 23k miles ago.
Most of the receipts are from S-Car- Service in San Rafael CA.
Also, a lot of services from Carlsen Motorcars in Palo Alto CA.
As mentioned in did thread, the previous owner installed a Fabspeed exhaust, that sounds fantastic.
We also have receipts from S Car Go for P-SS9 suspension, which gives it a great stance , totalling $3,931.
This vehicle runs ,looks and sounds amazing.
Drive video coming shortly.

Hi guys,
Welcome to our auction for '96 C4S.
It's a fantastic ,well sorted C4S, that looks and runs beautifully.
I'll be available on Monday to answer any questions or comments.
Also, I'll be posting drive videos, and more pictures,as well as service history and receipts.
Enjoy the auction and happy bidding.
My old car, put like 3k miles which was perfect and all I did was put new tires and fabspeed muffler. Condition wise the interior is time capsule like clean and exterior is 8/10 , so not bad just not totally perfect. This is basically a 4wd rs.
So stock motor bored out to 3.8L? What else was done on it?
Great car but some exterior pictures taken at dawn or dusk without all the spotty shade under a lot of trees would really help this listing. Keeping an eye on it, good luck with the sale!
