Now available for auction is this 1996 Porsche 993 Carrera 4S finished in Black over a Marble Grey interior.  With its wide Turbo-derived styling, brakes, and all-wheel-drive system, the Carrera 4S has become one of the most desirable models of the final air-cooled generation.  This 1996 example features upgraded Bilstein shock absorbers, Euro springs, a Brey Krause strut bar, and custom carbon fiber trim throughout the cabin.  Preserved under full paint protection film and riding on a set of new tires, this nicely presented Carrera 4S is being offered for auction by its seller out of Washington with just over 45k miles showing on the odometer.

This 993 is finished in Black and features the wide fenders and bumpers of the Turbo model.  The full exterior has been covered with a layer of clear Xpel paint protection film, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.  This C4S rides on factory 18” Turbo-look wheels with colored Porsche center crests and a set of Michelin Pilot Sport tires which are said to have been recently installed within the last 400 miles.

Inside, this 993 is appointed with a Marble Grey interior with heated and power-operated front seats.  The shifter and brake handle feature aluminum inlays, and carbon fiber trim has been added throughout the dashboard, center console, instrument surround, and armrests.  Stainless steel pedal covers have also been installed along with black carpet floor mats and a matching carpet mat for the rear seatbacks.  Some very light signs of wear are noted on the driver’s outer seat bolster and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be fully functional including the original Porsche CR-210 radio.

This Carrera 4S is equipped with an air-cooled 3.6L flat-six Varioram engine rated at 282 HP.  All four wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual gearbox while stopping power is provided from Turbo-spec Brembo brakes.  Upgraded Bilstein shock absorbers have been installed at a cost of over $1700 along with the installation of Euro ride height springs and a Brey Krause front strut tower brace.  All service is said to have been carried out as required and the car has been recently treated to a comprehensive detailing and inspection of the undercarriage.

This sale will include a clean title. A nicely maintained example of one of the most sought-after air-cooled cars on the road, this 993 Carrera 4S awaits its next owner.

@SLS993 Yes and yes. A little time consuming but easily done. I was not one for these films originally but, they are so very good now and really do a great job at protecting paint.

Is the plastic film covering the entire vehicle? Can it easily be removed without damaging the paintwork?

@Roku12 That is about right. I'll try not to make this too drawn out... The second owner of the car was a client of mine who drove the car "rarely" though the car was "exercised" Every few months to operating temps (excluding the winter months, snows here) I helped the current owner acquire this car after arranging a sale for his early 911. The funds were available and the second owner was finally ready to let the car go. Since the current owner acquired the car, the car has been gone through meticulously. A substantial amount of money was spent in the last 400 miles (please refer to previous post) This last winter the car was put on stands and the entire chassis was detailed, every nut and bolt inspected. In addition, the inner fender liners were removed and all hidden components cleaned and inspected as well. To suggest that the current owner is detail oriented does not suffice.

Any check engine light issues with the vent tubes?

  • porscheklaus (seller) 2 years, 8 monthsago

Something I think ought to be pointed out or perhaps made a bit more clear. At 44, 991 miles (approx 400 miles ago) the current owner took an already damn near perfect C4S and made it even better, making certain that the car was in need of virtually nothing. A list of precautionary maintenance performed is listed below.

    Bilstein shocks $1,728.00
    Porsche

    Euro Springs 741.00

    Brake pad sets 704.00

    Brake rotors 590.00

    Titanium lug nuts 260.00

    Michelin PS2 1,545.00
    tires

    Optima battery 210.00

    Brey Krause 310.00
    strut bar

    Expel Protective 2,800.00
    wrap

    Sisal black mats 510.00

Good evening all. I started my automotive career with Porsche in 1978. Yes, that dates me.
This particular C4S is a truly fine example and I am honored to be able to represent the car for a second time. A turn key example. Best of luck.
