Now available for auction is this 1996 Porsche 993 Turbo finished in Black over a black leather interior.  This 993 was originally purchased in Beverly Hills and remained in California up until 2018.  Previously listed on PCARMARKET in a removable Guards Red vinyl wrap, this Turbo has since undergone cosmetic refurbishments and upgrades including RS engine mounts, a short-throw shifter, a new Blaupunkt radio, Fabspeed muffler bypass pipes, genuine 18" Fuchs wheels, and more.  Benefitting from considerable investment over the past year, this Turbo is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas while showing approximately 65k miles on the odometer.

This Turbo comes finished in Black and rides on genuine 18” Fuchs wheels dressed in new Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Since the vinyl wrap was removed earlier in 2021, the front hood, bumper covers, door handles, mirror housings, rocker panels, and rear wing have all been refinished in their original Black color.  The brake calipers have been refinished in red and the front bumperettes were also deleted in favor of air duct inserts. Following the paintwork, the car was treated to comprehensive professional detailing including a full paint correction and ceramic coating treatment.  Some dents and cosmetic imperfections are noted throughout the body as depicted in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

Inside, you will find a black full leather interior with optional supple leather seats, white instrument dials, red seatbelts, and a custom carbon fiber trimmed steering wheel by Exclusive Design.  Other modifications include stainless steel pedal covers, aluminum instrument bezels, a custom black shift knob and rubber boot, a carbon fiber handbrake cover, and carbon-fiber print trim on the center console and instrument surround.  New LED interior lighting has also been installed along with a new Blaupunkt radio.  Some signs of wear are present on the front seats and the seller reports weak AM/FM reception from the radio antenna.

Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.  As much as 408 HP and 398 lb.-ft of torque are distributed to all four wheels.  The dynamic limited-slip system with Active Brake Differential (ABD) and a limited-slip differential are equipped as standard along with red-painted fixed 4-piston aluminum brake calipers paired with 322mm rotors front and rear.  Upgrades installed recently include RS engine mounts, RS short shifter golden rod assembly, and Fabspeed muffler bypass pipes with exhaust tips. The intercooler has been recently refinished in black and a new RS transmission mount is said to accompany the sale.

This sale will include some service records and a clean title. For any enthusiast looking to get behind the wheel of a 993 Turbo, this upgraded 1996 example is not to be overlooked.

Did I missed something, why is this car sold at such a low price, is it just the paint issue?

@Hi @Hi, you're welcome to give it a shot, I'll be home until 3 Central most likely. I am in Shavano Park. I'm also happy to honestly answer any questions or share anything anyone wants to know, that I know about the car.

I know is too close to the end but I’m in San Antonio and if I can rush and take a quick look would be great. Thanks

Hi folks, here is a cold start and drive video of the car. I had meant to do this sooner, apologies for that.

@Vince993s @Vince993s, thanks for the good questions. 83 is just below the rear window glass on the passenger side. The clear was pulled when the wrap was removed. This gets to what you see in 84 and 86 too.

84 is the side skirt on the bottom of the car. It is plastic and covers oil lines. I made a mistake with the paint guy, he did not spray them well enough and the previous owner had them painted Guards when he had the car wrapped. That’s red on the lip of the panel bleeding through where it was not sprayed enough.

Similar for 86. This is a bubble/imperfection in the spray that was not buffed out.

I have an appointment to have these item addressed, unfortunately it is not until January. If I still have the car I will have the less than ideal work corrected.

181 is wrap adhesive. The company that paint corrected and ceramic coated the car took that pic to show what a difference their process made. The paint, aside from what I have called out is very good.

Thank you for the transparency in showing detailed close up images of the paint defects. Can yo describe what we are seeing on the following images:
83, where on the car is this? Is the paint delaminating? Are the white spots hard water staining, etchings? Is this panel gapped/out of alignment? Can you provide a broader view of the area?
84, what part of the car are we looking at? Is this panel gapped/ out of alignment? Can you provide a broader view of this area?
86, are these solvent pops, are there other areas like this elsewhere?
White face gauges after market? Very tasteful upgrades!
181, Do you have any thoughts as to what caused the defects in the finish?
Paint meter readings would be helpful.

    Thank you
