This Japanese-market 1996 Porsche 993 Turbo underwent a custom build including GT2-style bodywork in Speed Yellow, a lightweight racing interior with a roll cage and Recaro bucket seats, a modified exhaust, Bilstein coilovers, and Work Meister S1 wheels. Japanese service records show a complete engine rebuild was performed before the car was imported to the U.S. by the seller in April 2024. As previously listed on PCARMARKET, this custom GT2-inspired 993 Turbo is being offered for auction out of California showing approximately 60k kilometers or 37k miles on the odometer.

This non-sunroof 993 Turbo has been modified with a GT2-style body kit including an Evo-style front bumper, bolt-on fender flares, side skirts, and a rear spoiler with an adjustable carbon fiber wing. Other features include xenon headlamps, tow hooks, hood pins, rear bumper vents, “911 GT” badging, dual exhaust pipes, red brake calipers, and black-painted 18” Work Meister S1 three-piece wheels. The exterior has been refinished in Speed Yellow and the car rides on Dunlop Direzza ZIII tires. Additional images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin has been stripped for weight savings and fitted with a full roll cage, Recaro bucket seats, Sabelt safety harnesses, a three-spoke MOMO steering wheel, and RS-style door panels. Other accessories include drilled aluminum pedal covers, a steel diamond plate floorboard, power windows and door locks, air conditioning, and a Pioneer stereo with aftermarket speakers.

Factory-rated at 408 HP and 398 lb.-ft of torque, the twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six engine delivers power to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The engine features a modified exhaust, and the suspension has been upgraded with Bilstein coilovers. A collection of Japanese service records accompanies the sale including a translated invoice for a complete engine rebuild.

This sale will include service records and a clean title.

    The listing states modified exhaust. Does the car still have cats? Has there been any attempt to register it in California?

  • starpro (seller) 1 week, 2 daysago

    @Porsche964993 when you drive a hand-gearbox car for the first time in 15 years, it’s not going to happen. The gearbox is fine.

  • Porsche964993 (registered bidder) 1 week, 2 daysago

    Any issues with the gearbox? Previously mentionned on your last auction. Second gear ?

  • Porsche964993 (registered bidder) 1 week, 2 daysago

    Saw this beast in Japan before it was up for sale. I was thinking of buying it but seller wanted to much.
    It just needs imo a nice set of e28’s to finish the final touch.

    Beautiful car. I just passed on a yellow slick top 964 from Japan as well.

    @Starpro

    Thank you for your honest answer about the reason for your selling: I am sad that the emotional anticipation of this purchase wasn’t fulfilled for you. I know what that can be like, and it’s not fun to experience.

    This is a Great looking car. I hope the new owner has joy with it, and I am sure you can find a Great Porsche for your own stable.

    Best of luck in that pursuit!

    Regards,

    David

    That's a piece of art! Worth at least half a million for sure!

  • starpro (seller) 1 week, 6 daysago

    @Havenhearth The car at the Japanese auction was sold with an evaluation of 4, the odometer shows 60K km and according to the notes in the service history corresponds to the truth. Since the car was bought and delivered to me, it has been put in the garage and not operated. First long waiting for registration in Montana, then a long time I was not in the country. Only a new battery was supplied and the engine oil was replaced. The reason for selling is very personal - there’s no place to store and the car is too rough for me to drive. The purchase was emotional. Pictures with cage and suspension will be uploaded.

    Lovely car - thanks for bringing it here. I looked at this in Japan Feb 22 and was impressed with the quality components and clean build. A couple items to add:
    1) roll cage is a Matter - like you'd expect in a proper Porsche GT / Clubsport;
    2) beautiful paint - originally Marineblaumetallic - another nice color.

    Best wishes with sale.

    - Adam

  • Havenhearth (registered bidder) 2 weeksago

    Hello,

    May we have photos of the interior to show the roll cage and tech stickers, please?

    Also are there photos of the four corners’ suspension? Shots of the shots and links will tell a lot about the current condition of the car.

    How much has this car been used on track? and how much on the road?

    And is there anyone who can translate the Japanese service paperwork?

    Does the odometer reading show All the miles on this car?

    And finally, why are you selling the car so soon after acquiring it?

    Thank you,
    David / Havenhearth
