Up for auction is this 1996 Porsche 993 Carrera Cabriolet finished in Guards Red over a black leather interior. Marking the final generation of the air-cooled 911, the 993 remains one of the most highly celebrated models amongst the Porsche community. Having been under the care of its original owner up until 2019, this 6-speed 1996 example is reported to be in exceptional overall condition with extensive service records and approximately 72k miles showing on the odometer.
The traditional Guard’s Red finish is noted to be in excellent condition, and the seller states that the passenger side quarter panel was previously refinished for cosmetic purposes. This Cabriolet features a distinctive basket handle rear spoiler and 17” turbo-style alloy wheels which come dressed in brand-new Continental tires.
The black leather interior is shown to be in excellent condition with a new cabriolet top installed within the last few years. Creature comforts include power seats, power windows, automatic speed control and air conditioning. An aftermarket Alpine head unit has been installed and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be working properly.
An air-cooled 3.6 L flat-six engine sends 282 HP to the rear wheels through a number-matching 6-speed manual transmission. 0-60 is achieved in approximately 5 seconds while reaching top speeds north of 160 MPH. Extensive service records are included indicating proper maintenance throughout the lifetime of the car, and the current owner recently carried out nearly $3k worth of service to bring this 993 up to top running order.
