We are pleased to present this 1997 BMW E31 840Ci Coupe finished in Arctic Silver over a Silver-Grey Nappa leather interior with wood trim. The E31 represents an iconic period of BMW design with its pillarless windows, pop-up headlights, and wind-tunnel developed wedge shape. As BMW’s flagship grand touring sports car, the 8-Series featured a powerful V8 engine and a host of new technology including electronic throttle control and multi-link rear suspension. Said to have been purchased by the seller in 2007, this 840Ci is now being offered for auction out of New York with approximately 107k-miles showing on the odometer.

The Arctic Grey finish is described to be in fair condition with some cosmetic imperfections and the seller notes the paint to have to be refinished near the driver’s door. CARFAX also shows a new right front fender, parking light, and turn signal to have been ordered for repair in 2008.  Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery.  The original wheels have been swapped in favor of 18” BMW Style 37 M-Parallel wheels which are currently dressed in older Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 all-season tires.

Inside, you will find a Silver-Grey Nappa leather interior with decorative wood trim. The cabin is noted to be highly original with the exception of an aftermarket Kenwood radio. This 840Ci came factory equipped with a power sunroof, heated power-adjustable seats, a power-adjustable steering column, automatic climate control, a hi-fi stereo system, and a 6-disc CD changer.

As a later production model, this 840Ci received BMW’s M62 V8 engine, which generates up to 282 HP and 310 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed automatic transmission, which allows this coupe to reach 60 MPH from a standstill in approximately 6 seconds.  All routine maintenance is said to have been addressed and there are no outstanding service items are reported at this time.

This sale will include some maintenance records and a clean New York title. An exceptionally well-engineered German touring car and an appreciating modern classic, this 840Ci offers incredible value.
