Finished in the traditional Ferrari color combination of Rosso Corsa over tan leather, this F355 Spider is equipped with the desirable 6-speed gated manual transmission paired to the 3.5L 40-valve F129B V8. It was delivered new in Florida where it received service from The Collection of Coral Gables, before spending time in Texas and Illinois and eventually moving back to Florida in 2020 when it was acquired by the seller. This F355 Spider has received the installation of a Tubi exhaust system, Fabspeed Motorsport exhaust headers and stainless steel test pipes, aftermarket Scuderia fender shields, Morimoto LED lighting, a MOMO steering wheel, and a Sony head unit with an upgraded sound system. The seller reports the last timing belt service occurred in 2016 along with the replacement of the cam cover gaskets, spark plugs, water pump, and knock sensors, the convertible top’s straps and hydraulic fluid were changed in 2020 along with a new oxygen sensor, and the alternator was rebuilt in 2021. Showing just over 41k miles on the odometer, this 1997 Ferrari F355 Spider is now being offered at auction by its seller out of Florida.

This F355 is finished in Rosso Corsa (322) with a black soft convertible top and a tan boot cover. Exterior equipment includes distinctive pop-up headlights, integrated fog lights, an integrated rear spoiler, a vented engine cover, side air scoops, black brake calipers with white Ferrari script, Pininfarina rocker panel badges, and quad exhaust tips. The seller reports aftermarket Scuderia fender shields have been added under previous ownership, Morimoto LEDs were added to headlights, foglights, and tail lights, and the bumpers were refinished for cosmetic reasons. The glass lens is also missing from the driver's side fog light, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The 18” silver five-spoke factory wheels wear yellow Ferrari center caps and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires from 2021.

The interior is trimmed in tan Connolly leather with matching carpeting, two-tone door panels, a contrasting black upper dashboard, a tan lower dashboard, and black floormats with red edging and embroidered Ferrari shields. Amenities include power-operated seats, automatic climate control, a gated aluminum shifter with a polished shift knob, drilled aluminum pedals, an F355-branded passenger-side kick plate, a replacement MOMO three-spoke steering wheel, a Sony head unit, and 2 Rockford Fosgate 5.25” coaxial speakers behind the seats. The seller notes that the sticky button issue has been addressed, the A/C compressor was rebuilt in 2020, and the original steering wheel is included with the sale. The seller reports a crack in one of the A/C vents, and wear on the driver’s seat.

The F355 is powered by a naturally-aspirated mid-mounted 3.5L V8 with five valves per cylinder, factory rated at 375 HP and 268 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by a  6-speed gated manual transaxle and limited-slip differential, which allows acceleration from 0-60 MPH in approximately 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 182 MPH. Under previous ownership, a set of Fabspeed Motorsport exhaust headers and stainless steel test pipes were fitted, and a Tubi exhaust system was installed by the current owner in October of 2021 at European Exotic Center of Tampa, Florida. Records provided by the seller show the last major service was completed in April of 2016 at 37k miles including the timing belt, cam cover gaskets, spark plugs, water pump, and knock sensors replaced. A rebuilt alternator was installed in May 2021, and the oil was changed in July 2022. The seller notes that an intermittent check engine light illuminates due to the Tubi exhaust system, and suggests this F355 is due for a full service.

This sale will include the owner’s books, a battery charger, the original steering wheel, comprehensive service records, a Schedoni briefcase and toolkit, and the original exhaust system including the exhaust manifolds.

    @cerb1958 There is a Buy Now button in this auction if you like the car. It’s extremely fun to drive and row the gears :)

    I'll be honest, I'm not a big Ferrari fan, other than the Ferrari F40 and Ferrari Testarossa. But your car is really spectacular. I'd love to see what you want that is "really nice" as you termed it.

  • Actfsu (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

    @HALSA5 it’s $9k here in Tampa (for what it’s worth). Make an offer in the tank. Slightly flexible

  • HALSA5 (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

    @Actfsu I just called 2 Indy shops and an engine out service on this car starts at 10k plus. I have to really think what I want to pay for this. How flexible are you on the offer?

    @whoabuddyracing I did not get an estimate but I would expect $7k to $11k depending on the shop. I’ve had a major done on a similar car for $9k that specialized in Ferraris.

  • whoabuddyracing (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

    Beautiful car in the classics color combo. Did you get an estimate on the full service work needed? I know the engine out costs are high but wasn’t sure what all constitutes full service work.

    To all, today is the final day. This F355 is in great shape and a phenomenal driver car. I can’t tell you how many people give me thumbs up while driving and these cars are going up in value every year.
    Only reason I’m selling is I have 8 other cars and trying to consolidate the collection for something very nice.

  • Actfsu (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

    @airhead the top works with the normal button in between the seats. However you have to put the seats all the way up (using the buttons next to the top). The previous owner did an override where the top button would put the seats up first. Hope that makes sense.
    The last major was in 2016, so from an age stand point yes. However only a few thousand miles have been driven since then and it’s lived in an AC garage since

  • Airhead (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

    Hey Adam , just checking that I understand the invoice for top repairs as it states the top operates but not as designed ,is that correct ? Also I gather from reading the invoices the car is due for a major service. I Would like to verify those items. Thanks

    @Actfsu Thank you
    understood
    beautiful car

  • Actfsu (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

    @dicksmith2436 got it. It was due to a bad gasket which oil leaked on the alternator. That in turn messed up the alternator and had to be replaced

  • dicksmith2436 (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

    @Actfsu Understood thank you
    My main issue was rebuilt alternator

  • Actfsu (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

    @dicksmith2436 I'm a very detailed oriented guy and a lot of the work was just cosmetic interior pieces that I wanted perfect. The major is usually pretty comprehensive and any engine work was merely preventative maintenance. The car is in phenomenal condition.

  • dicksmith2436 (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

    Thanks for the great detail. With only 40,000 miles why did it need all that work?

  • Actfsu (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

    Hello All, this is my Ferrari I've had for a few years now. I tried to be as detailed as possible on the car and I'm here if you have any questions.
    Hope she goes to a loving home :)
