This 1997 Porsche 993 Carrera Cabriolet, finished in Guards Red with a Cashmere Beige and Black interior, pairs a 6-speed manual transmission with its 3.6-liter air-cooled flat-six engine. Notable factory options include Dark Rootwood accents on the steering wheel, shifter, and brake handle, along with supple leather seats, the Power Seat Package, and the Hi-Fi Sound Package. Originally delivered to Carousel Automobiles in Minneapolis, Minnesota, this vehicle was later registered in Idaho and Kansas before being acquired by the selling dealer in 2022. With approximately 30k miles on the odometer, this 993 is now being offered for auction by the seller out of Missouri.
This 993 is finished in the traditional Porsche shade of Guards Red with a black cabriolet soft top. The equipment includes headlamp washers, integrated fog lights, a speed-activated rear spoiler, a raised third brake light, polished dual exhaust tips, and Porsche-branded brake calipers. A set of 18” Turbo Twist wheels have been mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires from 2024. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin features Cashmere Beige and Black partial leather upholstery, highlighted by optional supple leather seats and the Power Seat Package. Dark Rootwood trim enhances the steering wheel, shifter, and brake handle, while other options include the Hi-Fi Sound Package, a Porsche wind deflector, and black floor mats. An upgraded Porsche Classic Communication Management system has also been installed. The seller notes that the air conditioning was recharged in 2024, the passenger window switch was replaced in 2020, and the original factory-optioned AM/FM stereo with a CD player will accompany the sale.
Rated at 282 HP and 250 lb.-ft of torque, the air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine sends power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transaxle. The seller adds that the transmission and brake fluids were changed in 2022, the oil was changed in 2024, and the cooling fan and drive belt were replaced in 2024.
This sale will include a clean title.

@dbakes1027 ok. It’s only three screws, but it’s your car, your auction.
@dbakes1027 Thank you for the cold start. It would be helpful to see the engine and exhaust during the start.
And the second part of the driving video was already posted. I was looking for Part 1, if available...unless I missed it. Thank you.
@bergeyscustomrods absolutely no accidents, no damage, no paint work, no issues. I don't see the issues you are bringing up. The under carriage of the car looks completely normal to me based on the miles.
@RGAir-cooled Regarding the low miles over the last few years that I have owned the car, I usually have over 30 cars at a time in my little collection so I don't have time to drive them all, in fact, I barely drive any of them. I race competitively and kind of get my kicks doing that and having these cars in my building. I'm weird! Sorry! :)
@mikecib Sorry, I am not a mechanic so I did not take off the under engine cover. Just not comfortable doing that myself.

Although the Carfax shows no accidents, there seems to be an awful lot of damage to the jack point areas at the rear of the car, like there was a "frame pull" along with what seems to be a crinkle in the floor pan. Any ideas as to what may have caused these ? Up until a minute ago the bids seemed way too low. I am glad that there are many pictures of under the vehicle. It's now out of my price range. Good luck to the bidders

Beautiful car.
I watched the "Driving Video 2". Is there a Part 1?. And do you have a cold start video and perhaps a video of the engine running / and with some throttle?
Also, the Carfax shows mileage at 29,316 on July 31, 2023, so with mileage currently at 29,557, it appears only 241 miles were put on in more than a year. Any reason for sitting for so long? Thank you.
@dbakes1027 thanks. Didn’t see any pics behind that cover.
@mikecib Its dry. The car has sat in my building for for several months and not leaked any oil. The under side is dry. I posted many pictures of the bottom of the car.
What does the underside of the motor look like? Any oil leaks or seepage at the chain box covers or oil lines?

Hmmmm. No accidents, low miles, 3 pedals. Anybody got a reason this has gotten so little love? Sure wish it was a no reserve, I would be throwing my hat in the ring if I thought I actually had a chance at a win, but I'm sure the reserve will be prohibitive.
@Stentr I am the 4th owner. The car has had brand new tires installed a few months ago and less than 30 miles on them. Also had a fresh oil change, brake fluid flush and A/C System service. Records should be posted in the auction. There should also be a video of the service record binder.
@Stentr I believe the carfax is listed in the auction below the pictures. There is a link to it that I can see.

Dear seller, how many owners has the car had? What kind of service has been done?
Does this site provide Carfax for the cars?
Just picked up the 1:18 scale version of this at Costco
