Finished in Guards Red, this 1997 Porsche 993 Carrera Coupe recently received a new black leather interior and is being offered as the basis for a project car with no engine or transmission installed. It was first registered in New York and currently resides with its seller in Montreal showing approximately 97k miles on the odometer.
This Coupe is finished in Guards Red with a matching RS-style front spoiler. The rear model designation has been deleted and the seller states the driver’s side rear quarter panel was previously refinished. One small dent is also noted on the same quarter panel. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a CARFAX report showing accidents to have occurred in 2005 and 2008. The car rides on factory 17” Cup 2 wheels with matching center caps and Firestone tires.
The cabin has been completely redone to factory specifications with new black leather upholstery and components sourced from GAHH Automotive. Equipment includes power seats, windows, and mirrors, an electric sunroof, air-conditioning, and an optional rear window wiper.
The car was originally fitted with an air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. A new ECU has been installed and electrical components remain in place as well as the brakes and suspension.
This sale will include a clean title and some documentation.

@AlexBert Has the new ECU been correctly sync'd and tested with the special 993 immobilizer key fob shown in the photos? Also, were there any other electrical repairs done after recovery?

@krog88 Yes, ecu oem for 993 ,1997,manual ,rwd, stock, working cond.,present under drivers seat.
New ECU is an OEM Porsche ECU for the 3.6 engine this car would have come with, correct?

They took what they needed; engine transmission, seats, wheels, even door speakers! It was recovered and Bought by current owner who took the project. 40 years experience in restoring and Servicing AirCooled Porsche in his region. Not a clueless Spring chicken, but a Real Boss. Mike came to this Brilliant Result: now Facing the need to Power it! He wanted to Electrifying it, buying a < Tesla Pack > or sourcing what needed from EV WEST. But expertise is not totally there. No Flat-6 replacement found in the Region. So time was Up to pass to someone who could escalate to the Summit.
All products used made the Service Record Binder, and will be given to then Winner. Car is Fully Registered. No need to pass Inspection in current Jurisdiction.
Seller can accommodate Delivery to the Border for reasonable fee, equivalent to Cost. ( Toronto / Manhattan ) in that radius. NoProblem. Hope this Reply helps.
I'm very interested in this 993 roller......you've given us the long story/short, now how about giving us the FULL MONTY story: complete details of the recovery and condition at that time, listing of everything done since and why, (for example if the complete interior was redone - there is no mention of replacing the carpet/underpadding -absolute KEY for a fresh interior
.....Also, why was the original engine and trans removed and ?Sold?

I'm more familiar with early air-cooled Porsches. Does anyone know what model this is? Is it a 4-wheel drive? 4S? Sorry for probable obvious questions to 1993 experts.

So Here We Have a Sublime Canvas. Roller Shell 911 (993) Guards Red, with no engine & no transmission. Long Story Short: Car disappeared for a while ( Stolen ) and law enforcement found it. Current owner, Porsche Specialist servicing all air-cooled 911 of his region, bought it and provided All the cares He could. ReUpholstered all the interior with new materials, cluster, seats, to make the Cabin Fresh and New like if We were in 1997, one more time.
Mike pass the pen to next Custodian to write next Episode. Next Chapter. To seek, find and install a Period-correct Flat-6, or to Go All-in putting a < Tesla Pack > in it. Winner’s decision / prerogative.
