This 1997 Porsche 993 Targa is one of only 567 U.S. spec examples built for the model year, featuring a full glass sliding Targa roof that provides an open-air driving experience with the press of a button. Finished in Black over a Cashmere Beige and Black interior, this 993 features a 6-speed manual transmission along with an optional limited-slip differential, Automatic Braking Differential (ABD), rear window wiper, and Targa-specific 17" wheels. Meticulously maintained, this example is now being offered for auction by its third owner out of New Jersey with approximately 54k miles on the odometer.
The 993 Targa roof system consists of a green-tinted laminated glass roof that can be slid beneath the rear window or covered with an electrically retractable sunshade. A rear wiper has been factory optioned and the original 17” 993 Targa wheels are fitted with Continental tires. This example is finished in Black and is said to have recently undergone a full paint correction along with an application of clear paint protection film to the rear quarter panels. Some minor signs of road wear are noted and detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this 993 sports a Cashmere Beige and Black partial leather interior with optional 8-way electrical seats. The Targa model came standard with a high-capacity air conditioning system including defroster vents for the rear quarter windows. The seats have been restored, an upgraded Eclipse head unit has been installed, and the seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.
Marking the final iteration of the air-cooled 911, this 993 is equipped with a 3.6-liter flat-six engine rated at 282 HP. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission including an optional limited-slip differential and Automatic Braking Differential (ABD) for superior traction. The seller notes this Targa received a major engine-out service and clutch replacement in 2015 and a collection of maintenance records is said to be available dating back to the original owner's purchase.

@Mcap15 these cars are notorious for leaking gaskets after 15 ish years, so it's definitely necessary over time to replace.

What were the reasons for the engine out service? I read the invoice, but can you explain why these were needed? I don’t see this service on the Carfax?

@richardrobert road rash? There is a paint imperfection on the hood, a little ding above the headlight, but that's about it.

@Turbo911s the car recently had an engine out service with the gaskets replaced. I had the car examined a month ago, no leaks were found.
Is there any leaks or sweating from the engine? When was the last time the cam seals were replaced?
@Butane do you mean all of the receipts that I have, or just the ones for the interior restoration? I can upload the receipt for the restoration, however it simply states "interior restoration". There are a few pictures already up with large ticket items, ie clutch replacement, and pictures of the folders with documentation, but uploading every receipt would be a monumental task.
@Butane there is no fade on the gauges, and the clock works perfectly.
@Butane the interior is an 8.5 out of 10, there are no stains or tears of any kind. This car has been extremely well taken care of and babied since production.
Can you take photos of the individual receipts.
Is there any gauge color fade. Do all the gages operate as new. Does the clock work?
Is there any wear/stains/dirt in the carpets, panels, dash, steering wheel. Is the interior as new?
@Butane So the plan was to send the car out to Gunther in California to be modified, but this example is too nice to be torn apart. I actually bought another 993 that is being sent out.

@Ech33 thank you for your question. I actually bought a few cars this year, I was planning on sending this car out to California to be modified, but it's just too nice and well documented to be torn apart.
