This 1997 Porsche 993 Turbo is an original German market (C00) example and comes finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Boxster Red Special Leather interior with desirable factory options, such as Racing Style Sports Seats and Litronic headlights, as well as several Exclusive "Sonderwunsch" options, including the rare Carbon Fiber Interior Package. The car is also a unique “slicktop” sunroof delete roof model equipped with optional factory 18” Technology hollow-spoke wheels and a limited-slip differential. The car was fitted with Porsche’s Werksleistungssteigerung (Works Power Increase) WLS 2 package by Freisinger Motorsports on April 14, 2014, upgrading the performance to that of a contemporary RoW Turbo S model with 450 horsepower. Identical to the 993 Turbo S, the RoW-only WLS 2 package (XLC), includes larger K24 turbochargers (as opposed to K16 turbochargers on standard 993 Turbo and WLS1/X50 cars), an additional oil cooler, an optimized twin-pipe sports exhaust system, and an upgraded Motronic engine control unit unique only to the RoW Turbo S and WLS 2 models. This 993 was acquired by the current owner from a collector in Germany in late 2022 and imported to the United States in early 2023. It won a Best in Class award at a local PCA concours event as recently as May 21, 2023. Showing approximately 50k miles on the odometer (81k kilometers), this extensively optioned and tastefully upgraded 993 Turbo is now being offered for auction out of Texas.

The 993 Turbo model is distinguished by wide rear bodywork and rocker sills as well as a body-colored rear spoiler and unique bumpers with three front air inlets. This example comes finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with clear European-spec front and side marker lights, a sunroof-delete roof panel, red brake calipers, Litronic xenon headlamps, a factory optioned model designation delete, and 18” Technology hollow-spoke wheels dressed in new Continental ExtremeContact tires. Quad-tipped exhaust pipes were added as part of its WLS 2 performance upgrade installed by Freisinger Motorsports in 2014. The seller notes that the paint remains in completely original condition, as confirmed by paint meter readings. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin features Boxster Red Special Leather upholstery with matching carpets, hardback Racing Style Sport Seats, and the optional Carbon Fiber Interior Package along with Exclusive aluminum instrument dials, and a gear knob & shifter lever trimmed in carbon fiber and aluminum. Other equipment includes optional front seat heating, velour carpeting in the luggage compartment, a leather-covered CD holder, automatic air conditioning, an onboard trip computer, Nokia Digital Sound Processing, and an aftermarket Kienzle Bluetooth digital radio. The seller states the original factory-installed radio will also accompany the sale.

Power is sent to all four wheels from a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six engine coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential and Automatic Brake Differential (ABD). The car was outfitted with Porsche WLS 2 package components by Freisinger Motorsports in 2014 including larger K24 turbochargers, an auxiliary front oil cooler, a revised exhaust system, and a modified DME engine control unit. These upgrades came standard on the Turbo S model and provide an output of up to 450 HP. The seller adds that the WLS 2 upgrade used only genuine Porsche parts and official German registration documents are available to confirm their installation.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and air pump, extensive documentation, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: "I purchased this 993 Turbo WLS 2 from an established collector in Germany last year and imported it to the USA after completing a work assignment in Hamburg. The car has had three prior owners to me, all located in Europe. What appealed to me about the car is what will probably appeal to you: it has the same engine and interior as a 993 Turbo S (only without the X79 side air inlets) for 1/2 to 1/3 of the price of a Turbo S. It is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. I welcome professional inspections and all reasonable requests to verify its quality and authenticity. Happy bidding.

@VVP356918 Yes, it's titled in MT. It was serviced last month. Yes, the car can be viewed tonight if you are local. Feel free to reach out to me directly using the "Contact Seller" button at the top of the listing. - Erik

    Is car titled in Montana?

    Last major/recent service ?

Can vehicle be viewed this evening?

  • RalphManfrediDC (registered bidder) 9 months, 3 weeksago

    Hi Erik
    Thank you

  • ErikG (seller) 9 months, 3 weeksago

@RalphManfrediDC The car has not had any suspension modifications. It's standard Euro ride height. The typical suspension maintenance you'd expect for a car of this vintage has been performed (e.g. new shocks and struts), but the suspension setup itself remains stock.

As far as the exhaust, the twin-pipe sports exhaust with quad tips from the Turbo S is one of the four components that comprise the WLS 2 powerkit. However, it is a genuine Porsche part, so the car does not have any aftermarket exhaust modifications.

In short, with the exception of the modern Bluetooth radio, the car is highly original. (The original radio will also be included with sale.) Hope that answers your questions! - Erik

  • RalphManfrediDC (registered bidder) 9 months, 3 weeksago

Has the car had suspension modification as well as exhaust modification?
My apologies if you addressed this in the ad commentary already

  • ErikG (seller) 9 months, 3 weeksago

It's worth mentioning that the stainless steel door sills the car was originally equipped with from the factory (option X70) have been reinstalled in anticipation of sale. Although, the aftermarket carbon fiber door sills shown in the photographs will also be included with the sale. - Erik

@Mik86911 The videos were uploaded by me today, but it seems they must first be cleared by the website staff before becoming visible to the general public. They should hopefully be available for viewing by tomorrow morning (during business hours). - Erik

  • Mik86911 9 months, 3 weeksago

Where do I find the uploaded videos?

    Thx,
    Mike

  • ErikG (seller) 9 months, 3 weeksago

Multiple videos have been uploaded as well, including: a cold start, a short driving video (with an awesome sounding tunnel!), and a single shot video of multiple paint meter readings being taken of every panel around the entire car (with only one obvious screw up by me!). More driving videos to follow once I figure out a better (more stable) mounting system. - Erik

Just uploaded a photo of the hood sticker. It should hopefully be visible soon.

Correct, the WLS2 powerkit (factory option code: XLC) was installed by Freisinger Motorsport in Karlsruhe, Germany on 04/14/2014. The WLS1 powerkit (factory option code: X50) option is the older, less powerful powerkit option that only produced 428 hp and retained the smaller K16 turbochargers found on the standard 993 Turbo. On the other hand, the WLS2 powerkit, such as the one on this car, produces 450 hp, thanks in part to Porsche upgrading it to include the larger K24 turbochargers found in the 993 Turbo S and GT2 cars. The WLS2 powerkit also included the installation of a DME unit unique to only the WLS2 & Turbo S cars (Porsche part # 993.618.689.85). Whereas, the X50/WLS1 cars retained the standard 993 turbo's DME, which got "enhanced tuning".

In short, this is not an X50/WLS1 car. The WLS2 powerkit was more powerful, extensively upgraded and was only available as a RoW option in 1998 under the factory option code "XLC".

  • meiwah98 (registered bidder) 9 months, 4 weeksago

can you post a picture of the hood sticker? Would like to see what other factory options are listed. Also, to be clear, the X50 option was not originally ordered from the factory, this is an engine "upgrade" done by an outside shop, correct? Thank you for the clarification.

The service records go back approximately ten years. The ownership/registration documents go back further and those have also been translated into English (for purposes of importation). I also have annual TUV (German roadworthiness) inspection reports that go back the furthest and confirm the accuracy of the mileage consistently, year-by-year. Also, included in the records is a Classic Car Valuation Report that was commissioned by the previous owner in 2015 or 2016 that includes a thorough report on the condition of the car as well as a valuation (for insurance purposes back then). These documents were uploaded with the photos, so hopefully they will be visible soon.

  • wpaugh911 (registered bidder) 9 months, 4 weeksago

@ErikG Your listing mentions “ extensive records” how far back does the documentation go? My assumption is you are referring to service records and chain of ownership correct?
