Among the most sought-after 911s of its generation, the Porsche 993 Carrera 4S shares its wide bodywork, brakes, wheels, and bumper design with the 911 Turbo model and equips a 6-speed manual transmission sending power to all four wheels. This 1997 example comes finished in Guards Red over black leather and features power-adjustable supple leather seats, chrome exhaust outlets, the Motor Sound Package, and more. Accompanied by a pre-purchase inspection carried out by an authorized Porsche dealer, this 4S is now being offered for auction by its third owner out of Missouri while showing approximately 33k miles on the odometer,
The wide bodywork of this C4S is finished in Guards Red and the 18” Turbo wheels have been fitted with “4S” logo center caps and Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 tires from 2022. Other equipment includes red-finished brake calipers, a sunroof, and optional chrome exhaust outlets. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The black leather interior features optional supple leather and full power-adjustable seats with lumbar support. Additional options include Porsche-crested headrests, a CD210 radio, and aluminum door sills with model insignias. Factory features include cruise control and the 10-speaker Hi-Fi Sound Package. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reportedly working properly.
This 993 features an air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six Varioram engine rated at 282 HP. Power is sent to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox. The factory-optioned Motor Sound Package provides a more aggressive tone with a resonant airbox and louder mufflers. The seller adds that a 30k-mile engine-out service included changing the spark plugs, addressing oil leaks within the engine and transmission, and replacing valve cover gaskets, timing cover gaskets, and all necessary seals, gaskets, & hardware. Additionally, the front & rear sway bar links, selector rod & angle joint, hood & deck lid struts, brakes, and rotors were replaced as part of the service. A pre-purchase inspection is provided in the gallery and a host of documentation is said to accompany the sale.

@jfcl911 I am used to providing a DME all the time so I slipped my mind that you cannot get a DME readout on a 993, they did not become available until the 996 and newer cars, my apologies

@jfcl911 The paint meter readings are all between 4.5 and 6, the other readings are "gloss meter readings" this is something new many people have not seen used in these auctions. I saw it used on a 1998 C2S on bat a few weeks ago, so I ordered one and thought I would add to this auction. I will be happy to post a DME today. Thank you

@anabhan C4S always single piece. C2S always split painted. easy to convert if you had a preference, but obviously in conflict with originality.

993 experts: At what point did the 993 S transition from the split rear deck grille to the one-piece? I remember the split grille being a big visual identifier at the launch of the model.

@lamacan the clear was pealing on the calipers so we had them refinished, I will be happy to have those two redone before delivery.
nice looking car. i have an almost identical car. question, why is the lettering on the calipers upside down? its also the wrong script. this script is from a 930 caliper. were the calipers refinished?
