We are pleased to present this very special 1997 Porsche 993 Carrera 6-Speed finished in Pastel Yellow over a black leather interior.  Reported to have been originally purchased by Bill Hammerstein and driven by his wife in Beverly Hills, this 993 was eventually put into storage before being acquired by the owner of the automotive detailing company, Zymol, in 2005.  Since then, this 993 has been meticulously looked after and used as a show car for demonstrating the line of Zymol products as well as a promotional vehicle for Bilstein suspension and B&B exhaust.  Having spent much of its pampered life being trailered between automotive events and the Zymol headquarters, this incredibly unique 21K-mile 993 is now being offered by its seller in Florida, accompanied by original accessories, records, and a full Zymol “Glasur” detailing kit with complimentary refills included for life.

The Pastel Yellow finish is reported to be in exceptional original condition having been routinely treated with a Zymol wax specifically formulated for Porsche paint.  The removable stone guard protection film shows signs of age and some minor scratches are reported on the underside of the front bumper (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery).  This 993 remains entirely original in its appearance with factory 18” Turbo Twist wheels dressed in new Continental Contact Sport tires.

The black leather interior is said to be in nearly perfect original condition with all gauges and accessories working properly.  Factory features include a rear window wiper, a power-operated driver's seat, the Technic Package, heated front seats, a sunroof, and Exclusive option codes 09981 and 09991. An original Beverly Hills parking permit sticker can be seen in the windshield from the time of Bill Hammerstein’s ownership.

Power comes from a 3.6 L flat-six Varioram engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission with a factory optioned limited-slip differenital.  282 HP and 250 lb.-ft of torque stock is sent to the rear wheels providing for a 0-60 time of approximately 5 seconds.  The optional Motor Sound Package originally included louder mufflers and a more resonant airbox for enhanced sound. An upgraded PSS9 coil-over suspension was installed by Bilstein for promotional purposes as well as a performance exhaust system from B&B.  All service has been kept up to date under the care of Zymol’s private technicians and the car is said to have been run exclusively on high-quality non-ethanol fuel.  A new battery was recently installed and this 993 is said to be in excellent mechanical condition for its next owner.

This vehicle will be accompanied by a complete Zymol “Glasur” detailing kit valued at over $370. A lifetime of complimentary refills will also be awarded to the next owner so they can preserve the car in the same immaculate condition for years to come.

This sale will include a set of 2 keys, original books, tools, and spare tire, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, an indoor/outdoor car cover, air compressor, a 993 sales brochure, color-matched Speed Lingerie front bra, and a clean title.  With a fascinating history, unique color, and a lifetime of Zymol products included, this low-mileage 993 show car is sure to satisfy even the most discerning collector.

@tutone if you have no issues with partial repainted panels then you should buy it. Great color. Some of us want 100% in range paint meter readings on their cars and some, like you, do not. Buy it drive it and enjoy it.

  • toby (registered bidder) 3 years, 4 monthsago

@tutone Yes I would have purchased the car if not for the paint discrepancy. Pastel Yellow IMO is rare for a 993 and combined with the low miles this is still a nice car.

  • cbennett (seller) 3 years, 4 monthsago

    Hello Pcar Market.
I want to assure everyone our Pastel Yellow sweetheart has never been touched up or repainted by me or Bill Hammerstein. It is very common for cars in final assembly to be marred or scratched resulting in a retouch of the paint at the Factory or retouched at the Port or retouched at the Dealer. Recognizing Toby's unhappiness with the paint, I contacted my acquaintance Ray Shaffer the Market Development Manager at Porsche NA and after our Hans Stuck and Brumos stories he contacted Porsche Germany for me to get more information on the car. Ray was thrilled to see this Classic and was hoping Porsche HQ could help. Unfortunately records of Factory touch ups are not part of the Porsche Production Specifications that drives the Porsche COA.
So after Doctor John did the PPI we agreed the car needed new belts and a review of all systems bumper to bumper. Recently we installed an Optima Yellow Top Battery, a new fuel filter and new Tires that have never been driven on. We have added a photo of the 8 Factory Service Manuals and the Original 911 Sales Brochure to the Gallery. This is a magnificent car and I am willing to let her go home with someone who will care for her.

  • tutone (registered bidder) 3 years, 4 monthsago

@toby Had it not been for the repaint would you have purchased the car? My interest in this car is because of the unique color, overall excellent condition and interesting history. A properly performed repaint does not bother me as I would actually drive this car and not park it in a warehouse. Thoughts?

  • toby (registered bidder) 3 years, 4 monthsago

I was able to view this Porsche in August of 2019 with the intent to purchase after giving the seller a deposit. I brought along a paint meter to verify original paint and complete the transaction. I can probably shed light on some of the questions that have been asked: Regarding Condition. Seller paid for a mechanic to perform a PPI at his house. Mechanic I believe noticed front hood shocks and rear decklid shocks needing replacement. Mechanic did not drive the car as they were concerned about the age of the belts and not wanting to be stranded should they break.
Regarding Mods: I noticed the Bilstein Suspension, window tint and the exhaust. I believe there were two different car covers, original coil over suspension and an older style front bra cover. Regarding records: The only substantial record I was shown was a October 2001 service at Beverly Hills Porsche at 18,009 miles. BH Porsche installed new front brake pads, engine air filter, belts, cabin filters, engine oil and new brake fluid. I didnt see any documented records of maintenance during current ownership. Regarding Paint: Paint meter recorded 9mil+ on the hood and 9mil+ on the passenger rear fender. I noticed what appeared to be dust nubs on the hood which would be telling of a repaint. There was no paint protection on the pass rear fender or the hood so it was my opinion it had been repainted. It was because of the paint discrepancy that I did not purchase. The car at the time was otherwise clean and looked like a 21k mile car . Seller was gracious and returned my deposit the next business day.

  • momotime (registered bidder) 3 years, 4 monthsago

thanks for the limited pics on the paint meter but due to evidence of some paint work I am out. Sorry, but I am sure there are other enthusiasts who dont mind some paintwork.

By the way, the pictured Gentleman checking the brakes is Dr. John Belsha. Those Porsche owners and PCA members in Florida know him as the Godfather of Porsche service. I have been fortunate all of these years to have John make house calls and to monitor the health of my Porsches and Mercedes.

  • cbennett (seller) 3 years, 4 monthsago

@porsche_dreamer We are doing that today along with the request for more interior photos and a video of the exhaust sound at idle and different RPM's. I will say this crowd is thorough!!
If I didn't know better I would think everyone at this auction works for Zymol. LOL

  • kpledger (registered bidder) 3 years, 4 monthsago

The seller is the Founder of Zymol? Very cool and I’m sure this car received some special care over the years. I have used and continue to use Zymol for my cars. I remember back nearly 30 years ago when my friend started a detail business for high end German cars. He only used Zymol back then as well. Besides this being an incredible color and excellent example, the Zymol name can only add to its desirability. Good luck to all and congratulations to the new owner, whoever that may be.

  • dkrause (registered bidder) 3 years, 4 monthsago

    @porsche_dreamer - agree.

  • porsche_dreamer (registered bidder) 3 years, 4 monthsago

  • cbennett (seller) 3 years, 4 monthsago

@911airfan congratulations on your Concours wins. I am the founder and owner of Zymol. This is one of the cars I have. My team is the trusted marketing team that is responsible for my collection. The cars I have used to advertise Zymol are all registered to me personally. My only business is and has been providing the best all natural car care products for the last 40 years.

  • 911airfan (registered bidder) 3 years, 4 monthsago

You have stated that this is a private sale. Why do you refer to"our team" in your comments. This appears as being sold by a dealer. Also not familiar with your name in the centeral Florida area
I live in the area and recently sold a 1996 C4S that I owned for over 20 years and won awards at several Porsche Parades, Winter Park Concours , and events held at Amelia and have never scene or heard of this 993. Something does not apear correct.

  • cbennett (seller) 3 years, 4 monthsago

@momotime I did reply earlier but I see it did not show.
I have called my team into work today to get the photos you need.
We will post them later today.

Perhaps you have been busy but before any further bidding on my behalf and perhaps others still need the following. Do you have paint meter readings for the entire car?
    How about service records?
Picture of the Tools, books, etc etc ?
I assume the original exhaust and suspension come with the sale of the car you say yes but please also post picture of these items ?
Other than exhaust, wheels, suspension, window tinting and other mods?

  • cbennett (seller) 3 years, 4 monthsago

@tutone the PSS9 suspension was installed by technicians from Bilstein. The car was photographed on the lawn next to our building which makes the car appear lower. Please look at the video in the gallery. I’m sure Bilstein would not bring the car to a height lower than ROW.

  • tutone (registered bidder) 3 years, 4 monthsago

Can anyone comment on the height adjustability of the PSS9s? To my eye this car is lowered beyond ROW ride height.

  • momotime (registered bidder) 3 years, 4 monthsago
