Representing Ferrari’s flagship grand touring car throughout the 1990s, the 456 GT was designed by Pininfarina and features a 5.5-liter V12 engine which made it the world’s second-fastest four-seater production car. The 456M or Modificata version was unveiled in 1998 with improved aerodynamics, a carbon fiber bonnet, and a refined interior. This example is one of 688 Ferrari 456M GTs produced with a traditional 6-speed gated manual transmission and comes finished in Rosso Fiorano over a Sabbia leather interior. It was delivered new by Ferrari Foitek of Zurich, Switzerland, and has remained under the care of its original owner ever since. Showing approximately 7k kilometers or just over 4k miles on the odometer, this rare V12-powered Ferrari is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Switzerland.

The Ferrari 456 GT was designed by Pietro Camardella at Pininfarina who was also behind the styling of the Ferrari F40 and F50 supercars. It features a tubular steel spaceframe construction overlaid by aluminum body panels and a one-piece clamshell bonnet. Compared to the original 456 GT, the 456M version received a lightweight carbon fiber bonnet as well as a smaller front grille with inset fog lights. Other details include front fender vents, pop-up headlamps, and polished quad exhaust tips. This example is finished in Rosso Fiorano and rides on factory 17” five-spoke alloy wheels dressed in Pirelli P Zero tires. The seller adds that the paint remains in excellent original condition. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The 2+2 cabin is appointed with Sabbia Connolly leather upholstery complemented by black carpeting and a black leather dashboard. Accessories include a black leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, automatic climate control, power window and mirrors, electrically adjustable seats, a cassette stereo, and a gated shifter assembly with a polished aluminum gear knob. All gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.

Up to 436 HP and 406 lb.-ft of torque comes from a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter F116 V12 engine with four valves per cylinder, Bosch Motronic fuel injection, and a dry sump oiling system. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The seller indicates a complete maintenance logbook is included and a full service with belt replacements was completed in 2021 at 6,500 kilometers. The seller adds that another basic service will be performed before delivery for the next owner.

This sale will include some documentation, owner's manuals, a toolkit, an air pump, a car cover, a battery charger, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “We are happy to offer for sale this pristine Ferrari 456M GT finished in Rosso Fiorano over Sabbia, this example sports the desirable manual gearbox and is presented with under 7,000 Km (4,375 Miles). The car is supplied with all original books and accessories and a small service will be performed before delivery.”

@classicdotcom the last major service was in 2021 and all was done to the car, oil, filters, coolant, brake fluid, cam belts, air filter. Prior to submitting this auction we have performed an annual service. Since the last major service, the car has driven less than 500km.

  • Porschegstaad (seller) 4 monthsago

    @BarryLe yes we do

  • classicdotcom (registered bidder) 4 monthsago

Can you please provide details on the last service?

  • Porschegstaad (seller) 4 monthsago

@goodtogo we will fit new pzero tyres prior to delivery

  • goodtogo (registered bidder) 4 monthsago

The information says Pirelli P-Zero tires but the photos show dated 2009 Bridgestones. Have you installed the new Pirelli tires?

  • BarryLe (registered bidder) 4 monthsago

Porschegstaad: What a disaster for the hotels, restaurants, and shops with so little snow. Do you have clear documentation for the major service that was done on the car in 2021? I am looking forward to auction end.

  • Porschegstaad (seller) 4 monthsago

@BarryLe Yes it is pretty sad but actually it is not that bad for the cars. No salty roads…

  • BarryLe (registered bidder) 4 monthsago

Porschegstaad: Thanks for the driving video. I can’t believe how little snow there is in Gstaad at Christmas time. I will be a bidder this afternoon at auction end.

  • MPandey69 (registered bidder) 4 monthsago

It's a beautiful car - but we have 20% duty to import to the UK - so my best bid would have been $80,000 (that's $96,000 with UK tax)

About 15 years ago I bought a 1995 456GT with a 6 Speed with a LOT of miles used on eBay. It had a full repaint in Pinot Verde which was its original color. Someone explained the only explanation for a repaint is that it was wrecked. As this is a low mileage and now proof of original paint makes this a very valuable car. The 6 speed probably doubles the value. The fact that it is the later "M" or "Modified" and updated version of the car original car makes this even better. Of the Modified cars I would say most came with the Automatic. Oddly, when I had the 6 Speed car I sorta wanted an automatic. This is a car to keep and enjoy.

Dear All, the paint measurements have been taken today and pictures of the readings have been uploaded, the car is 100% first paint. The hood is in composite material as is the front and rear bumpers but these have never been repainted or replaced. The hood shows the original production tag underneath. Videos of the car driver have also been uploaded.

  • Porschegstaad (seller) 4 months, 1 weekago

@classicdotcom Hello, yes of course I will take the measurements and submit them in the morning.

@Russell41 yes we can provide videos, I will do that tomorrow. The car has no delimitation issues and the seals are perfect. The windows are as well perfectly adjusted.

  • Porschegstaad (seller) 4 months, 1 weekago

@BarryLe hello Barry, no the car has no front ppf. Yes we can assist for the shipping, we usually use a company called west coast shipping and they organise all from pick up at our location to the delivery at your home. All the best!

  • jbauto (registered bidder) 4 months, 1 weekago

Wow. Special 456 here. Nice. GL

  • Russell41 (registered bidder) 4 months, 1 weekago

@Russell41 I ment to say window delamination issues.

  • BarryLe (registered bidder) 4 months, 1 weekago

Porschegstaad: Thank you for your detailed response. By chance, is there any PPF on the nose of the car? Are there any blemishes in the paint? I assume the owner drove this car sparingly and in the summer only. I am very sorry that I sold my TDF blue 2003 456M GT. I will be a bidder on your car. Your estimate on sea shipping to Miami seems very high. Can you please confirm?

  • Russell41 (registered bidder) 4 months, 1 weekago

Hello, do you have a detailed breakdown of the last service? Are the tires from 2009? Will you be providing driving videos? I know some of these have window seal and desalination issues, is there any sign of these issues? Are you able to help with the exporting paperwork and transportation to a port?

  • Porschegstaad (seller) 4 months, 1 weekago

Dear Barry, Thanks for the message. The 456M GT can easily be imported in the US now as the cars are more than 25 years of age. To ship it by sea freight you would calculate about 9000 USD and by air freight about 18'000 USD, this would include insurance of course. All the sticky plastics have been refurbished to factory non sticky finish. The car has just passed a swiss federal inspection as well as being subject to a Ferrari service recently. The hydrolic suspension is operating like new. I am also pleased to say that there is absolutely no sign of wera or shrinkage on the leather, thankfully the first and only owner of this car has always kept it in a closed garage with climate control. Nothing needs to be done to the car and it is ready to be used and enjoyed, hopefully on the streets of Miami.

  • BarryLe (registered bidder) 4 months, 1 weekago

Porschegstaad: I used to own a 2003 456M GT with a manual transmission. Can this 456 be imported to the U.S. easily? Does it need to be Federalized? What would it cost to insure it and ship it to Miami, FL? Are there any sticky switches? What about the air shocks in the suspension? Any shrinkage in the leather in the interior? Does the car need anything fixed or serviced? Thanks.
