We are pleased to offer this 1998 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta finished in Nero over a tan leather interior.  This 1998 example was purchased new from The Collection in Coral Gables, Florida before eventually being acquired by the third owner in 2004 who would drive the car less than 2k miles over the next 17 years.  It was just recently acquired by the selling dealer who has performed a major engine-out service in preparation for sale including new timing belts, camshaft seals, fuel pumps, water pump seal, battery, tires, and much more.  Highlighting a sought-after gated 6-speed manual transmission, this F355 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of North Carolina while showing just under 23k miles on the odometer.

The Pininfarina-designed bodywork on this Berlinetta is finished in Nero (black) and features distinctive pop-up headlights, side air intakes, and “Flying Buttress” rear pillars.  As noted on CARFAX, the seller reports damage to have occurred to the right front end in 2005 and the entire vehicle is said to have been professionally refinished to ensure a clean and uniform appearance.  Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with the CARFAX report.  The factory 18” 5-spoke Speedline wheels have been retained and were recently dressed in new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires in preparation for sale.

Inside, this F355 features a tan Connolly leather interior with a black dashboard and a 6-speed gated shifter assembly nestled between the front seats.  Some original interior components that are prone to peeling have been replaced with carbon fiber pieces by the previous owner.  A new A/C heat and vent control station and actuator have been installed and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be fully functional including the original Ferrari radio.

This Ferrari is equipped with a mid-mounted 3.5L V8 DOHC engine featuring dry-sump lubrication and an output of up to 375 HP.  A sought-after 6-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential drives the rear wheels allowing for a 0-60 time of approximately 4.3 seconds and a top speed of nearly 190 MPH.  A major engine-out service has been recently completed by the selling dealer including new timing belts and tensioner bearings, camshaft seals, fuel pumps, injector O-rings, intake gaskets, a water pump seal, battery, thermostat, left-bank exhaust temperature ECU, and all new fluids and filters. Additionally, the fuel injectors were cleaned, and the exhaust bypass valve was repaired.  Service records are provided for reference in the photo gallery along with invoices and images from the recent service.

This sale will include a collection of service records, the original owner's manuals, a toolkit, and a clean title.  One of the most iconic sports cars of its era offered in a timeless color combination and with a coveted 6-speed manual transmission, this F355 just might be the Ferrari you've been searching for.

@Lsuinaga Sorry we only know what is on the CARFAX. Using the CARFAX information, I took some photos of the passenger left front part of the chassis and those are in the gallery (photos 159 - 162). We could not see any evidence of frame repair / damage so were thinking it was just sheet metal repair / replacement, but obviously without photos or a repair receipt its really impossible to know for sure.

    Hi
Do you have more information about the damage that occurred in 2005?
    Thanks

@curvesurfer the car has 100% of its factory exhaust and emissions components. All 1998 Ferrari 355’s were 50 state compliant.

  • curvesurfer (registered bidder) 2 years, 8 monthsago

Hi, does this car retain the factory emissions and other exhaust equipment?

Can you confirm the emissions decal specifies California compliance (forgive me if I missed this in gallery)?

  • LaserGuru (registered bidder) 2 years, 8 monthsago

@gbutler Thank you for the response. Good to know there are no pins leaks with the manifolds. And the water pump is good. Both know watch points for the model.

  • gbutler (seller) 2 years, 8 monthsago

The exhaust manifolds are factory manifolds - I would assume that they are original as I do not have any evidence of them being replaced per the receipts that we have and that are attached in the photo gallery. We know these manifolds are good as we smoke tested them as part of the recent service work we did and there were no leaks. We removed the water pump, inspected it and reinstalled with a new seal as everything was good with the existing pump.

  • LaserGuru (registered bidder) 2 years, 8 monthsago

@gbutler Are the exhaust manifolds factory original? Water pump need any work when the major service was done?

  • PorscheGeek (registered bidder) 2 years, 8 monthsago

I have been fortunate enough to have driven several types of Ferraris of all eras and Back in the 70's, the 246 Dino handled like it was way ahead of it's time, and it still to this day is so much fun to drive fast thru twisties...and the 355 Model is THE LAST Ferrari's to have the raw "go-kart-for-the-street" feel to them. These will always be a sweet spot in the line up becuase of the feel & connection when you rev, brake, shift and go thru a corner. Good Luck - this will make the 2nd half of the summer all the better

Welcome to the auction of a beautiful 355 gated Berlinetta. This car has had valve guides done at 15k miles and has no rust bubbles forming at the rear buttresses - which are two common F355 problems. Our shop has just gone thru this car top to bottom, and the new owner will be getting a car that is fully sorted, serviced and ready to go. Feel free to reach out with any additional questions and I will do my best to answer.
