We are pleased to present this 1998 Ferrari F355 F1 Spider finished in the traditional combination of Rosso Corsa over a Beige leather interior. Said to have been under the care of its original owner up until 2016, this beautifully configured 1998 example is said to have been kept in excellent, highly original condition with a critical timing belt replacement carried out within the last 800 miles. Showcasing Pininfarina designed bodywork as well as a powerful 3.5 L V8 engine, this F355 Spider is currently residing with its seller in New York while displaying just over 18k miles on the odometer.
The iconic Rosso Corso finish on this Spider is noted to be in very good condition with the exception of minimal road going wear and some scrapes on the underside of the front bumper. The F355 Spider was debuted as the first ever Ferrari to be equipped with a power-operated cabriolet top, and the tan soft top on this example is said to be in great shape. Factory 18” 5-spoke Silver wheels are retained and dressed in healthy Pirelli tires.
Complimenting the Rosso Corsa finish is a traditional Beige leather interior which is said to be in excellent condition. The seller indicates that the leather on the driver’s seat bolster has been professionally re-dyed and polished to correct some minor signs of wear. Features include contrasting upper dash and door panels in Black leather, drilled aluminum pedal covers and Black carpet floor mats with embroidered prancing horse logos. The factory Ferrari radio remains in place and the seller indicates all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.
This Spider is equipped with a mid-mounted 3.5 L V8 DOHC engine which sends 375 HP to the rear wheels through a paddle-shift F1-style electro-hydraulic gearbox. Out of the 3,717 F355 Spider’s produced in total, only 1,053 are reported to have been equipped with this innovative F1-derived transmission. A major timing belt replacement service was carried out around the time of the second owner’s purchase in 2016 with less than 800 miles driven since. This Ferrari is said to be up to date on all routine maintenance and in superb driving condition.
