Now available for auction is this 1998 Porsche 993 Carrera Cabriolet finished in Black over a black interior with supple leather seats. Carrying a 3.6 L flat-six engine paired with a refined 4-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox, this 1998 example is among the last of the air-cooled 911s ever made. A lifelong California car, this 993 was purchased by its current owner in 2018 from Porsche Monterey with approximately 2k miles driven since. It is now being offered for auction by its owner out of Los Angeles while showing just under 39k miles on the odometer.
The Black finish on this Carrera is said to be in very good condition with only minor signs of road-going wear, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery. In 2018, Clearplex protective film was professionally installed over the windshield along with Suntek 50% tint on the side windows, a 3-step paint correction process, and a full ceramic coating treatment. The black cabriolet top is reported to be in excellent shape while remaining fully functional. Some noteworthy features include a basket handle spoiler that houses the third brake light, a factory wind deflector, and 17” Cup 2 wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires with date codes from 2014/2015.
Inside, you will find a nicely presented black interior with supple leather seats. Factory features include front seat heating, automatic climate control, electric windows, and an alarm system. This 993 is equipped with an air-cooled 3.6 L flat-six Varioram engine that sends 282 HP to the rear wheels through a 4-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox which also offers a manual shifting mode. An upgraded Fister II muffler has been installed recently and the ECU was reprogrammed with GIAC software for improved performance. An invoice provided by the current owner also shows an engine oil service to have been carried out in October of 2020 along with the replacements of the DME relay, engine cooling fan shroud, and front hood struts. This 993 is reported to be in excellent running order having also passed a recent California smog test.

Bad news on the car, it doesn’t start.
Mechanic cannot get to the car till Thursday afternoon or Friday. I’ll be out of the county for 10 days next week. Mechanic said it could be ECU related or electrical or ignition since the DEM relay and fuel pump have already been checked recently.
Will have to pull the ad and get the car sorted out. Hopefully I can place the ad again in April.

Hello all. My first time here. I was at the Monterey car show week 2 years ago and saw this car inside the show room of Porsche or Monterey and fell in love with it. Ended up buying it over the phone after I returned to Los Angeles where I live.
I have a few nice cars and a full time job. As a result I don’t get to drive these cars much. I think I drove this one for about 2000 miles.
I have OCD and want my cars to be perfect so as soon as I buy a car I look for things I can do to improve the vehicle as you ca see in the receipts.
I bought the car for $65k (ouch dealer pricing). So with tax, license and all my receipts I’m in the car for about $85k.
I’m moving to Manhattan Beach and will lose one parking spot. So this car is being sold before I move this summer after school ends for my kids.
I’ve taken the car to central California once and a few trips to San Diego. That alone has made up over 70% of the miles I added to the car.
The top looks brand new. I don’t think it was changed as the mileage is low on the car.
This was a trade in car to Porsche of Monterey and came with no paper maintenance records. But Porsche of Monterey had done their 150 point check on the car before they put it inside their showroom so I knew I’m getting a pretty good car with backing of an authorized Porsche dealership.
