Up for auction is this 1998 Porsche 993 Carrera Cabriolet finished in Black over a black interior. Among the very last of the air-cooled 911s, this 1998 example came factory optioned with a 6-speed manual transmission, heated leather seats, the Motor Sound Package, and HiFi Sound Package. Originally delivered in California, this Cabriolet was eventually acquired by the current owner in 2020 from Porsche South Orlando. Showing just under 16k miles on the odometer, this final-year 993 Carrera is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
This 993 is finished in Black with a matching black Cabriolet soft top and tonneau cover. The soft top is said to have been replaced in 2017 and the car’s finish is described to have been very nicely preserved throughout the years. The seller adds that the car has been kept indoors throughout their ownership while being regularly detailed. Additional images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. Exterior features include a “basket handle” rear brake light and upgraded 18” Porsche Sport Classic wheels that were dressed in new Michelin PS2 tires in January of 2019 at 14k miles.
Inside, you will find a black interior with optional leather seats. At an original sticker price of over $78k, this 993 also came optioned with heated and power-operated front seats, the HiFi Sound package, and an AM/FM radio with a CD player. The cabin is described to have been kept highly original with all gauges and accessories remaining fully functional.
Power comes from an air-cooled 3.6L flat-six Varioram engine capable of producing as much as 282 HP. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission which allows this 993 to accelerate from 0-60 MPH in approximately 5 seconds. Renowned for its handling capabilities, the 993 generation featured a new alloy multi-link rear suspension as well as upgraded power steering, larger brakes, and dual-flow exhaust. The optional Motor Sound Package on this example also adds louder mufflers and a more resonant airbox for enhanced tone. A collection of service records from authorized Porsche dealers shows a new clutch relay switch to have been installed in 2020, new tires and multi-point inspection in 2019, and a preemptive 60k-mile service along with a new battery in 2017. The seller notes that the car is currently at a Porsche dealer and will receive a fresh oil and filter change prior to sale.

The inspector from yesterday requested that I not show up to take pics and videos so I complied to show respect. This is a great example of a well cared Porsche 993. I detailed this vehicle earlier this year, and I was pleased to work on such a well maintained classic. It’s hard to believe the car seen any seat time at all judging by the lack of interior wear. I hope more vehicles like this cross my path.
@1966corvette I've inspected the car several times, and I've had a couple of my detailers inspect it as well and we all feel it's all OEM paint. Please keep in mind that there's been 3 owners of this car prior to me and I don't have their contact info to ask the sames questions as this platform. I've had several people on this platform DM already asking all types of questions and one of them is sending a personal detailer to inspect the car tomorrow at the dealership as he wanted to inspect the paint for validation. I don't have picures of it being metered, but I'll be sure to give some pictures/vidoes of the detailer doing the inspection tomorrow if that helps.

@ScottFromIowa , the wind screen was not included with my purchase, but I’ll buy you a new OEM one with a winning bid. I’m personally not much of a windscreen guy but I can understand the need for one and I’d be willing to buy it for you if you’re interested in buying the car.
Thank you for your reply on the keys. Is there a wind deflector with the replacement top? It does not show one being mounted in the auto-top video.

I originally purchased this car only to show at DRT Miami in 2020 and fell in love during the 4 hour drive to the show. This has been the cleanest, and most well maintained collector that I've managed to own, and I'm confident the next owner will agree once he/she get's their hands on it.
