We are pleased to present this 1998 Porsche 993 Carrera S finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a black interior.  With its low production numbers and wide Turbo-derived bodywork, the Carrera S represents one of the most sought-after air-cooled cars of all time.  This final year 1998 example was sold new from Continental Motors, Inc. of Connecticut and had spent time in New York before moving to California in 2011.  It came optioned with a limited-slip differential, Automatic Braking Differential (ABD), Sport Chassis, 18” wheels, and hardback Racing Style Sport Seats.  Showing approximately 46k miles on the odometer, this 993 C2S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California accompanied by the original books, tools, and window sticker.

This 993 was ordered in Arctic Silver Metallic and rides on a set of factory 18” Turbo-look solid spoke wheels dressed in Sumitomo tires dated from 2018.  Compared to a standard 993 Carrera, the C2S features the wide fenders and bumper design of the Turbo model along with a unique split-grille rear decklid.  Some minor cosmetic imperfections are highlighted in the photo gallery and CARFAX shows an accident to have occurred in 2002. The seller has had the car thoroughly inspected by an autobody expert who found no signs of structural damage. In 2014, the rear bumper was refinished and both tailpipes were replaced following a minor cosmetic incident under previous ownership. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a full CARFAX report and paint meter readings.

Inside, this 993 features a black interior with factory hardback Racing Style Sport Seats.  The original CR-210 radio remains in place and the car has been fully wired to accommodate a Porsche Classic radio should the next owner choose to install one.  Standard equipment includes automatic climate control with air conditioning, remote entry with alarm, a sunroof, power windows, electrically adjustable side mirrors, and a headlight cleaning system.  The previous owned had custom ports added to the headrests and the seller reports some signs of wear on the seat bolsters.  A small chip is noted on the windshield, the door check strap is off-center, and the radio requires an activation code to be entered for operation.  All gauges and accessories are said to be working properly including the aftermarket integrated radar detector system.

Among the last of the air-cooled Porsche 911s, this 1998 Carrera S is equipped with a 3.6L flat-six engine featuring a Varioram resonant induction system, dual exhaust, and an output of up to 282 HP. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission paired with a limited-slip differential and Automatic Braking Differential (ABD).  This example is equipped with the Sport Chassis option, which provides a stiffer and more responsive ride.  It has also been equipped with a set of upgraded Turbo-spec Brembo “Big Red” brakes for improved stopping power.  The horn retaining frame and rubber cooling fan shroud have been recently replaced along with an oil service and four-wheel alignment.  A slight oil seep is noted from the left chain box cover and the clutch squeaks when the pedal is depressed.  Images of the underside are provided in the gallery along with some service records.

This sale will include service records, owner's manuals, the original window sticker, and a clean title.  Do not miss your chance to become the next owner of this beautiful 993 Carrera S with less than 50k miles traveled from new.

  • Tarek307 (seller) 2 years, 5 monthsago

Hello everyone, Last hour of the auction- please go through the comments, read my input on the car- I'm here to answer any questions promptly. Good luck..

If the car ends up selling and the buyer is out of state i can help with shipping recommendations etc...

Tarek is very well known and he is also a top seller on BAT and he has been selling air cooled 911s for many years. If you are an avid air cooled enthusiast then I’m sure you have definitely heard of him or follow him on all the social media platforms. I have purchased 2 air cooled 911 from him within the past 3 years. Tarek always represents the top quality vehicles and he always makes sure everything is sorted and each vehicle is in outstanding condition before he lists them for sale. He has an excellent reputation and he is very transparency with his vehicles. Bid with confidence and you will be very happy that you did.

@Tarek307 Sorry for any confusion you are correct. It’s so rare to see sport seats in these I thought it was the same car. Was kind of hoping it was to see the diff in platforms. Glws

  • Tarek307 (seller) 2 years, 5 monthsago

@ajmiller81 this car was NEVER on BaT so please before making such a comment be sure it’s factual - thx . You maybe referring to a 96C4S silver NOT this car.

    @jsavio twinsies!

  • JAB12 (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

This is the first time I see a vehicle listing on any online platform that notes an incident on the CarFax and the seller goes through every effort to show measures that speak to said vehicle's straightness and current condition as it relates to the incident. Kudos to the seller and this example has added value with the sport seats and the brakes that far outweigh the ding in the CarFax. Without the CF note, this is a $175K+ car all day long. Good luck to all.

@almorako The paint meter readings are on the second video, shown as they are being taken.

  • almorako (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

Do you have paint measurements? Thanks!

  • Archer1 (registered bidder) 2 years, 6 monthsago

@Tarek307- Wasn't knocking down, just confirming. Readings tend to be higher where there's protective film present.

  • Tarek307 (seller) 2 years, 6 monthsago

@archer1 ummm yes..obviously - The numbers are still low though which when doing due diligence let’s you know there isn’t filler & bondo…just typical respray of panels here and there.

  • Archer1 (registered bidder) 2 years, 6 monthsago

@Tarek307- Those are very paint meter numbers, looks like most panels have been painted.

  • Tarek307 (seller) 2 years, 6 monthsago

@luft78 the car isn't lowered, but it does have the factory option Sport chassis so it is lower than your regular USA car. The car also has upgraded OEM Litronic headlights & Motor Sound package intake added- The only thing added to interior is the lloyd mats (original thin mats are in the car under the lloyd mats, they are sticky on the bottom as P.O put fabric glue on them to keep them in place)

There is nothing major that popped up, the door check strap as you see in the ppi is off centre but it isn't broken or cracked (see pics) it is clicking though mechanic thinks its just the pin but he couldn't get me an appointment to fix anytime soon.

  • Luft78 (registered bidder) 2 years, 6 monthsago

Have you lowered the car a little bit? Last time Ii saw the car was in May, it looks a bit lower. Are there any upgrades or anything major to worry about? I see the door check strap in PPi which isn’t a big deal, but anything else? Thanks for being so transparent and taking these great pics marking any blemishes.

@tarek307 I had no idea he was selling it, that’s a very nice car and he would always bring it to C&C then do canyon runs. I’m very tempted now ?

  • Tarek307 (seller) 2 years, 6 monthsago

@luft78 correct i bought it from T.S in Beverly Hills, great guy, and he was very reluctant to sell it, basically had to pry it out of his hands lol.

  • Luft78 (registered bidder) 2 years, 6 monthsago

@seller was this car in Beverly Hills? Owners last name starts with an “S” ? If so I know the owner and car.

The Factory hard back sport seats, ported at headrest according to PO he was planning on making the car a track car & installing cage & harness but never went through w it (no evidence this was ever done) - The leather is still soft to the touch, there is little wear on drivers side bolster, typical leather aging

  • Tarek307 (seller) 2 years, 6 monthsago

Hello everyone welcome to my auction- First time trying out P-Car but you can google me for plenty of Reviews / References.

This is overall a very nice example and will make a great value for someone, the car is a driver and the PO for the past 12 years while always having the car serviced, still drove it as it was intended and had fun with it in the canyons of Malibu & Angeles crest. There are some nicks (all pictured in the gallery & annotated)

The car is mechanically solid, had great ppi results (see ppi in gallery) this car pulls very strong especially after 5K RPMS no lights or issues.

Lets address the "elephant in the room" This car has a clean clear title, it does however have an accident from 20 years - I've had the car thoroughly inspected by a professional body shop experienced in repairing & restoring high end cars- No structural, frame or alignment issues found -The car drives, tracks straight and feels just rite. I also had the inner fender liners removed (all pictured in gallery) and again everything looks rite - Unfortunately there isn't any info on accident since its so long ago and the PO didn't even know this was on the carfax as it wasn't there 12 years ago when he bought the car. (Auto check doesn't show any accident)
