We are pleased to offer this 1998 Porsche 993 Carrera S finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Midnight Blue leather interior. Perhaps the most sought-after 993 of all, the Carrera S features the wide body styling of the Turbo model along with a unique split-grille rear decklid and rear-wheel-drive configuration. This final-year 1998 example came generously optioned from the factory with a Special Chassis Rigidly Tuned (030), Motor Sound Package, painted Racing Style Sport Seats, a limited-slip differential, and 18” Sport Classic wheels. It was purchased by the current owner from Sterling Motorcars in January of 1999 at 3,770 miles and has been driven approximately 14k miles since. Accompanied by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this stunning 993 C2S is being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida showing just over 17,800 miles on the odometer.
This 993 is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic and features oval stainless steel exhaust pipes as part of the optional Aluminum/Chrome Package. The seller reports the rear fenders to have been previously refinished following the removal of factory stone guards. Additional images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. This Carrera S rides on factory Exclusive 18” Sport Classic two-piece wheels dressed in Bridgestone S-02 tires dated from 2009 in the front and 2013 in the rear.
Inside, you will find a beautiful Midnight Blue leather interior with highly sought-after painted Racing Style Sport Seats. The cabin has also been factory appointed with leather and aluminum shifter and handbrake levers as well as aluminum-look instrument dials and stainless-steel door entry guards with model logos as part of the Aluminum/Chrome Package. Other factory options include the HiFi Sound System, a power-operated sunroof, and cruise control. An updated 3-spoke steering wheel has been installed and the original steering wheel will also accompany the sale. Some signs of age are noted on the front seats and the seller confirms all instrumentation and accessories to be fully functional.
The last of the air-cooled 911’s, this 1998 993 Carrera S is equipped with a 3.6L flat-six Varioram engine that sends as much as 282 HP to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The Carrera S shares its large Brembo brakes with the Turbo model, and this example also came factory optioned with a Special Chassis Rigidly Tuned (030), the Motor Sound Package, and a limited-slip differential with Automatic Brake Differential (ABD). The seller reports the car to have only ever required standard routine maintenance with the most significant service carried out in March of 2011 including the replacement of the shifter rod bushings. A collection of service invoices is provided for reference in the photo gallery along with images of the underbody.
This sale will include the original owner's manuals, toolkit, spare tire, air compressor, stamped dealer maintenance book, the original steering wheel, service records, a Porsche car cover, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean title. Among the final air-cooled 911’s ever produced and one of the most generously appointed examples on the market, this low-mileage 993 Carrera S has spent virtually its entire life under the care of the same owner and is now ready to be cherished by a new caretaker.

@DJATL I really think the 993 WB will certainly surpass the value of any modern water cooled 911 very soon. The 993 WB will ONLY go up in value.
@zardoz - thank you for making it more engaging. GLWA to buyer/seller.

Well, the other one w/ 11 times the mileage (albeit well kept) just went for $94,500.
Doesn't look like the current $130k bid will suffice.
This is a very gorgeous 1998 993 S with a great color combo specially the Midnight Blue leather interior with the very rare factory sports seats WOW and it has very very low mileage. It's truly a very beautiful and rare gem!

@vbautosports Ok, watching close as my 993-S is gonna roll 17,000 miles this wekeend. Will be great to know the value as this car may set the mark?
@1985CCX Okay I see it. The odometer has been functional since we've had it, moreover the odometer functions perfectly right now. The issue is a common occurrence 993's and previous generations and is most likely a recommended form of preventative maintenance for the future.
odo uh oh...

@vbautosports which photo number*
@PorscheGuys I'm sorry which invoice number is that? I don't see it.
Bid in the amount of $109,993
From 1999 to 2019 there is NO mileage listed on the carfax… I’ve never seen that.
I am also interested in why it states the car needs odometer repair in the invoice
@sixspeed71 Ignore my question. I see it's already been addressed.
Invoice dated 10/2018 … under “recommendations needed”, states : “odometer repair” ..
Please clarify … Thanks
Ok... I was under the impression the C4S came with the big brake kit and the C2S came with the smaller brakes. Am I mistaken? Were the big. brakes available as an option? Someone please set me straight.
A 98 C2S with 73k miles just went for $141k plus fees at BAT - this one has just 17k miles… wow! Should bring some major bids

Bid in the amount of $82,000
@Ummmmm I don't have the original windowsticker, just the Porsche CoA.

Sorry, disregard my question- I see the XRB code indicating 18" SportClassic 2-piece wheels.
Are the original wheels included in the sale?
Brakes on the S cars were standard 993. Only the 4S received the “big brakes” from the 993 turbo.
@dmccart812 The reason was because the owner noticed the stone-guards were getting that aged yellow look and wanted a bodyshop to replace them. Unfortunately clearcoat usually comes off when they're that aged so they had to repaint and blend that area. It looks fantastic in person and you wouldn't know unless you metered it.
It was done about 4 years ago. I'll add a photo of the RO on monday.

Beautiful C2S! Can you explain the rear fenders being refinished - were fenders repainted and blended into doors? How long ago was the repainting completed?
Dashboard pics 57 and 58 show some seepage around the gauge rings. Were the gauges removed/reinstalled at some point ?
