Available for auction is this 1999 Mercedes Benz R129 SL600 V12 finished in Black over a black leather interior. Purchased new at Silver Star Motors in New York City, this R129 has spent the last five years in California and is said to retain service records from new. One of the top range R129’s offered from Mercedes, this low-mile V12-powered SL comes handsomely equipped with a retractable black soft top, a color-matched removable hardtop, xenon headlights, an adaptive hydraulic suspension, automatic climate control, and cruise control. With just over 16k miles showing on the odometer, this SL is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California accompanied by a clean title and CARFAX report.
This R129 is finished in Schwarz (040) with a matching black convertible top as well as a removable painted hardtop. The seller notes the front and rear bumpers to have likely been refinished at some point, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. Features include SL600 specific V12 badging, front fog lamps, and fender vents. This SL rides on Mercedes 17” 5-spoke chrome wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires which were replaced within the last two years and have covered approximately 1k miles since.
Inside, the cabin features power-adjustable seats upholstered in black leather along with matching carpets, door panels, floor mats, and decorative wood veneers. Equipment includes automatic climate control, cruise control, and heated seats. Slight wear is noted on the driver's seat bolster and all gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional including the original radio and power-operated soft top.
The 6.0L M120 V12 produced 389 HP and 420 lb.-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed automatic transmission providing for a 0-60 time of approximately 5.7 seconds. The original hydraulic adaptive damping system is retained and is said to be functioning properly. This SL features an extensive maintenance history with records showing service through Silver Star Motors. Regular oil and filter changes are also said to have been carried out by the last owner.
This sale will include a removable hardtop, a collection of records, a spare tire, and a clean title. This is an excellent opportunity to own a low-mile example of an appreciating modern classic.

@Coachmule Thank you for your interest in my SL600 these are amazing machines if well looked after. I have records for the history of the car, Clean Carfax, AC works great it is 134 as originally equipped. Suspention systems are functioning as they should, inspected and confirmed. All top functions work as well and no fluid leaks. Everything electrical works as it should including the seats, cruse control radio gauges etc. passed California smog.

I’ve owned 4 this is very expensive to repair 3-5k , interior looks worn in one spot ? California smog ? Any issues ? Plates up to date ? Yes California will charge you if the plates weren’t kept current. Where is it located? I’m in San Diego. Cruise work ? AC charged with? 134/12 ? Does everything work ? Odometer , heat? Six way seats ? I love the V-12’s getting hard to find people to work on them.

@R129guy I will check on that for you, there seems to be over twenty showing. I am not sure why you are only seeing so few.
Any additional photos? For some reason, I don’t see any other than the 5-6 in the listing. Would be a shame to list the car for sale at auction like that.
