Finished in Ocean Blue Metallic over a Graphite Grey interior, this 1999 Porsche 996 Carrera Coupe features a 6-speed manual transmission paired with its 3.4-liter flat-six engine. It comes factory-equipped with an optional limited-slip differential, Automatic Brake Differential (ABD), traction control, stainless-steel door entry guards, and 8-way power-adjustable leather seats. The car also has GT3-style side skirts, 18” Carrera wheels, and an upgraded Fabspeed exhaust with headers. Benefitting from a previous IMS bearing update and recent replacements of the clutch, rear main seal, and water pump, this 996 is now being offered for auction out of Tennessee with approximately 102k miles on the odometer.
This Carrera Coupe is finished in Ocean Blue Metallic. Equipment includes silver-painted front grille inserts, heated power mirrors, an electric sunroof, GT3-style side skirts, dual exhaust outlets, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and 18” Carrera 5-spoke wheels. The front tires were recently replaced and a four-wheel alignment has been performed. The seller states the front bumper was refinished due to chips and scratches and the passenger-side rear quarter was refinished to address a dent. Multiple dings are noted on the doors and driver-side front fender along with minor curb rash on the wheels. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this 996 features a Graphite Grey interior with 8-way power-adjustable leather seats and driver position memory. Other accessories include an Alcantara headliner, a four-spoke leather steering wheel, optional stainless-steel door sills, automatic climate control, cruise control, a central locking system, and an aftermarket Sony stereo. The seller notes signs of wear on the seats, shifter, and handbrake lever.
Factory-rated at 296 HP and 258 lb.-ft f torque, the naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and an optional limited-slip differential. The car is equipped with traction control, an Automatic Brake Differential (ABD), four-wheel cross-drilled disc brakes, a silicone intake hose, Fabspeed exhaust mufflers, and Fabspeed headers. The seller states the IMS bearing was updated at 50k miles, a new water pump was recently installed, and the clutch, rear main seal, and engine oil were replaced in the last 200 miles. The CARFAX report also shows a history of routine oil changes and brake services.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Here we have a very heavy optioned early 1999 996. These early cars are best known for the peppy 3.4, drive-by cable throttle, and cable-operated hood and decklid. Very analog cars that offer a classic experience.”

@Miles.S How about info on cam deviations?
There was a serious grinding sound six seconds into the driving video, do you have any idea what that sound was?
Thanks,
@hankrearden12. The parts kit for the chain guides is a little bit over $1100, source FCP euro. Labor will depend on the hourly rate. Anyway here in the Houston area parts and labor at least $3500. Some shops as high as $5000.
@hankrearden12 If referring to the water pump, this car has a new water pump on it.
Thanks!
Miles
@AdrianoM Not sure on any import due. But actual shipping would be around $1500
@luis.seneriz What does the typical repair bill for that look like? I'm interested in this car

@Miles.S - any idea how much shipping to Canada (Montreal specifically) would be?
Bid in the amount of $10,911
I really like the car but since we don’t have any cam deviations I’m going to assume they are out of specs. Good luck to anyone with this action, the color combo is pretty nice on this car.

Hi all!
Want to check in for the last few hours and see if there are any last minute questions or requests. I will be around the shop throughout the auction end today. Once again, happy to help ship the car out. I am going to be leaving for Scottsdale Auctions in the AM But will be back in town later Sunday. The car will be safely stored in my shop over that time.
Thanks!

@grandwazoo No leaks. That is condensation from the mufflers. About 20-30 degrees in the shop. Noise in the video is just the camera jig shaking around.
Thanks!
Miles
@Miles.S What's all the chatter coming from in the driving video? examples 0:07,1:20, 1:46 among many others..
Also, in the startup video, what's leaking? looks like coolant? Can you confirm if there are any leaks on the cars?
@Billb76 Correct, no engine light on. Just did the driving video and it did great!
@Miles.S Thanks for the quick response. Can you confirm the check engine light is not on?
@Billb76 Not at this point. If anyone wants to arrange a PPI I am happy to help coordinate.
Thanks!
Miles
@Miles.S any luck on the cam deviations?
Bid in the amount of $7,911
@Miles.S. Thanks for the reply. I personally prefer the real early builds pre Porsche factory fire. This is a real nice looking car.
@luis.seneriz Sorry for the late reply. Having some issues getting the cam deviations. Trying to have a buddy come over with his computer to try. I attached the full build sheet on this one in the gallery. It was a very late 98 production date of 12/98. But is a 99 model. I have had some pretty early 98 production cars in the past. Really nice driving car!
Thanks
Miles

@Miles.S. Is this an early 98 car? Can you provide cam deviations? We changed the water pump, installed a new low temp thermostat on a 2001 ocean blue cab yesterday, we also did some work on my 3/98. My favorite color is blue, so if I buy this one, I would sell the 3/98, I just want to have an idea of how much I’m going to need to sort this car out, thanks.
