Up for auction is this 1999 Porsche 996 Carrera Coupe finished in Black over a black partial leather interior.  A one-owner lifelong California car, this 6-speed 1999 example benefits from a recent IMS bearing upgrade and clutch replacement as well as a long-documented service history. Now with just over 25k miles showing on the odometer, this well-preserved 996 is being offered for auction by its seller out of Nevada.

This 996 comes finished in Black, and the seller reports some scuff marks on the underside of the front bumper as well as a small scratch on the rear bumper. Additional images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. This 996 rides on optional 18” light alloy Turbo Look wheels which feature colored Porsche center crests and Michelin tires dated from 2017.

The cabin of this 996 comes trimmed in black partial leather and features a three-spoke leather steering wheel, an aluminum inlay for the shift knob, automatic climate control, a power-operated sunroof, and an AM/FM radio with a CD player. The seller notes that the cabin remains very well preserved with all gauges, lights, and accessories functioning properly.

This first-generation 996 carries a naturally aspirated 3.4L flat-six engine that sends up to 296 HP and 258 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The seller reports that a major service was completed earlier in 2021 including a new clutch, rear main seal, oil and filter changes, and installation of an upgraded LN Engineering IMS bearing. A corresponding invoice is provided in the gallery along with images of the undercarriage. The CARFAX report highlights several other services dating back to 2012, and maintenance records are said to accompany the sale dating back to the original purchase.

This sale will include a recent service invoice and a clean title.  If you have been in search of a 6-speed Porsche 996, this low-mile, one-owner 1999 Carrera is certainly worth consideration.

Regarding the clutch, the on these cars is completely different, to the point that some people prefer the feel with the spring removed. Some people don’t know how to drive them, met a guy that has replaced clutch twice he wears them out around the 30,000 mile mark. On the other side of the spectrum met a guy with a heavily modified car, 162,000 miles and the car is still on original clutch. Anyway the fact that this has already been done is money that the new owner is not going to have to spend.

  • worldmotorsports (seller) 2 years, 8 monthsago

@Arkus1 the title is clean from california

  • worldmotorsports (seller) 2 years, 8 monthsago

@Arkus1 the reason for the clutch replacement was due to age & while they do the IMS bearing, its wise to replace clutch while its easily accessible
im a dealer but have an open title

  • Arkus1 (registered bidder) 2 years, 8 monthsago

I'm right in there with J BoxerGT2... some questions there. That's why I asked about a CLEAN Title. I'd love to have a car like this but NEED-TO-KNOW Everything. Thanks. AP

  • Arkus1 (registered bidder) 2 years, 8 monthsago

First, this is a CLEAN Title, right? Next, why would a clutch need to be replaced at such low miles. Admittedly I'm new to P-Cars, but.... is this a private sale or dealership? Please/Thank you, AP

That’s a strike. Early 99s that’s where it is. Mine was 3/98, my 408s have actually a 993 part number. I already saw
    A 3/98 and a 4/98 993. Anyway good luck with the auction. It’s still a beautiful car.

  • worldmotorsports (seller) 2 years, 8 monthsago

@luis.seneriz I sent pic of production label not sure where it went but it was produced 5/99

  • PlaPan (registered bidder) 2 years, 8 monthsago

Looks like a late 99 car - 3 spoke wheel and the newer radio...

Should have dry ice cleaned the underside. I’m interested I own a
3/98 coupe with factory 408 turbo hollow wheels.

there are no leaks ! that might be residual oil from before the rear main seal & engine case update.as far as rust , that must be surface due to being by the ocean in Santa Barbara..i assure you this is one of the nicest 99s you will find!

  • JBoxerGT2 (registered bidder) 2 years, 8 monthsago

For a 25k mile car, engine shows residue of oil in multiple places, some rust on CV axles, suspension arms, links, etc just don't look to par for a 25k car. Humm! Will need more than the current $3k spent on IMS, Clutch, etc. Let's see where the bid goes up to the last 5 min
