Now available for auction is this 2000 BMW E36/7 M Roadster finished in Titanium Silver Metallic over a black Nappa leather interior. Introduced in 1998, the M Roadster was the high-performance version of the Z3 featuring an M3-derived S52 6-cylinder engine, unique styling, and a special M-tuned suspension. Under the care of the current owner for the past 11 years, this M Roadster has been garage kept, sparingly driven, and routinely serviced by authorized BMW dealers.  Now showing approximately 45k miles on the odometer, this 5-speed M Roadster is being offered for auction by its owner out of New York.

This E36/7 is finished in Titanium Silver Metallic (354) with a newly replaced black convertible soft top. The M Roadster is based on the wider six-cylinder Z3 roadster body and features a more aggressive front fascia with brake cooling ducts in place of fog lights as well as unique side vents with M logos, aerodynamic wing mirrors, and a rear valance with quad exhaust tips. The seller describes the finish to have been well maintained with only a few small chips throughout the body, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.  This example rides on factory forged 17" Chromeline Style 40 wheels dressed in Velozza tires dated from 2016 with approximately 1k miles of use.

The cockpit features power-adjustable and heated sport seats upholstered in black Nappa leather with matching door panels. Model-specific “M Roadster” door sills greet the driver upon entry.  A leather-wrapped M-Sport steering wheel sits ahead of analog VDO instrumentation including a 160 MPH “M-Roadster” speedometer and an 8k-RPM tachometer, as well as gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. Chrome-trimmed auxiliary gauges in the center stack show battery voltage and oil pressure, along with an analog clock. Factory amenities include air conditioning, a Harmon Kardon Hi-Fi sound system, cruise control, and power windows, door locks, and mirrors.  The seller notes a small crack in the plastic trim near the shift knob and has reported a leak from an A/C hose.  All gauges, electronics, and accessories are said to be working properly.

This E36/7 M Roadster is powered by an S52 3.2L inline-six engine derived from E36 M3, which was factory rated at 240 HP and 236 lb.-ft of torque. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a 5-speed ZF manual transmission and factory limited-slip differential. The CARFAX report shows a history of service carried out through BMW dealers including a recent maintenance inspection and oil change completed at BMW of Oyster Bay.

This sale will include the original owner's manuals, a soft-top window protector, and a clean title. Increasingly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike, the M Roadster has become a true modern classic.

  • FredA (seller) 2 years, 6 monthsago

The A/C leak hasn’t been an issue for me. Natural A/C with the windows and top down is perfect !

@s8ilver we had the vehicle diagnosed at BMW service at the last oil change appointment. There is a leak at the condenser.

  • Omda (registered bidder) 2 years, 6 monthsago

Can the seller please take a closer picture to the staging glove box, and elaborate on the AC issue, thanks in advance and great looking car.

  • s8ilver (registered bidder) 2 years, 6 monthsago

RE: leak in AC hose. Are you saying one of the two under-hood lines is leaking? If you've pinpointed the leak, why not patch and recharge the system (new drier first)? I've never heard of an AC line leaking on one of these; they usually leak at the evaporator, which is one of the easiest ever to replace.

Hello everyone ! My name is Fernando. I am here to answer any questions you may have. We’re delighted to offer you this opportunity to own a fantastic vehicle.

  • LocoViking (registered bidder) 2 years, 6 monthsago

@FredA I’m glad to hear that!! Great car!!

  • FredA (seller) 2 years, 6 monthsago

@LocoViking thank you for commenting. To be fair the vehicle was driven to the gas station to be filled up prior to the video being taken. It wasn’t a complete cold start into rev. This vehicle has been well maintained and taken care of. There has been only 10,000 miles added to the odometer in the 11 years I have owned the vehicle.

  • LocoViking (registered bidder) 2 years, 6 monthsago

Why would you read the engine that high right after starting it up?
