The M Coupe debuted in 1998 as the high-performance fixed-roof version of the Z3 featuring the venerable S52 inline-six engine, brakes from the E36 M3, an upgraded suspension, and more aggressive bodywork. One of 231 examples finished in Titanium Silver Metallic over black Nappa leather for the model year, this 2000 example features a 5-speed manual transmission, 17″ Style 40 “Roadstar” wheels, and a sunroof. Having remained with its first owner in New York until 2021, this M Coupe is now being offered for auction by its seller out of North Carolina showing approximately 3k miles on the odometer.
This M Coupe comes finished in Titanium Silver Metallic and features black Shadowline trim, M-badged fender vents, M-specific bumper covers, rounded aero mirrors, and quad exhaust outlets. The factory silver-finished 17” Style 40 “Roadstar” wheels are mounted with Continental ContiSportContact 5 tires from 2021.
The black Nappa leather interior features power-adjustable heated sport seats, a leather-wrapped M-Sport steering wheel, an M shift knob, M-branded door sills, and chrome-trimmed instrumentation with auxiliary gauges in the center stack. Other amenities include a glass sunroof, air conditioning, an alarm system with keyless entry, a BMW Business CD stereo system, and a Harmon Kardon Sound System. This example was subjected to water damage in October 2021 per the CARFAX report and the selling dealer is said to have extracted, inspected, and cleaned the interior materials prior to reinstallation, detailed images are shown in the gallery.
This M Coupe is powered by a 3.2-liter S52 inline-six engine borrowed from the E36 M3, which produces up to 240 HP and 236 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by a ZF 5-speed manual transmission and mechanical limited-slip differential, allowing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in approximately 5 seconds. The M Coupe was built with a wider front and rear track than a standard Z3, and received a lowered ride height, modified front suspension geometry, firmer springs and shock absorbers, strengthened semi-trailing arms, and a reinforced subframe. The brakes were also carried over from the E36 M3. Service in October 2021 reportedly included replacing the spark plugs, battery, fuel pressure regulator, and fuel volume control valve along with fluid services and a fuel system flush. Additionally, a pre-purchase inspection was carried out in September 2022. Detailed documents are provided in the gallery.

Thank you for your informative comment and interest in this unit. The vehicle is currently sitting at 3,560 miles and that is only due to the miles it needed to be driven to make it to the BMW dealership and back for the PPI. The condition of the vehicle is exactly the same and the photos taken outside are new photos taken on April 29th, 2023. The over 100 comments are exhaustive and answered everything I had in mind. I only have two follow-up questions: 1) Has the vehicle really not been driven one mile in the 7 months from previously listing the car for sale? and 2) The youtube video posted to this auction is 9 months old and shows the car driving. Can we get an update on mileage and possibly a new video with new upload date? The reconditioning report done on Oct. 20 of 2021 states "168 miles have been driven..." but there is no listing on the odometer where it calls for it on this form. With selling such a low mileage example (and commanding a premium for such as you should) unfortunately it starts to get nitpicky. Also a serious buyer for this awesome machine.

Due to our representatives not being in the stored facility during the rainstorm event, nobody can give a definitive 100% guaranteed answer on the water line. With that being said, we include our RO/WO because our water line bias is based upon the items the vehicle needed replaced. Due to the only replacement items needed to ben replace were underneath the unit and not inside the cabin as well as all of the seat controls and components needed zero repair/replacing we assume the water level to be at the doorsill and rocker panel area. There was no signs of water inside the vehicle (photos seen with interior removed) and as shown in the videos, the seat tracks and seat components show no signs of moisture. Should anything further be needed to verify this information, I would be glad to assist!
