Available for auction is this 2000 BMW E36/7 Z3M Roadster finished in Dakar Yellow over a black Nappa leather interior. Introduced in 1997 as a high-performance version of the Z3 roadster, the M Roadster features more aggressive bodywork, widened rear fenders, larger brakes, a retuned suspension, and the S50 engine borrowed from the E36 M3. This 2000 example is believed to be a lifelong West Coast car, having spent time in California and Nevada before being acquired by the seller. Of the 10,501 North American specification M Roadsters produced from 1998 through 2002, only 326 examples are believed to have left the factory finished in Dakar Yellow. Having been serviced in preparation for this sale, this M Roadster is now being offered for auction by its seller out of North Carolina while showing just under 47k miles on its odometer.
This M Roadster is finished in Dakar Yellow with a power retractable soft top in Black. The M Roadster can be distinguished from the Z3 by its wider rear track, aerodynamic wing mirrors, redesigned bumpers, revised side vents, and quad-exit exhausts. The seller reports that the exterior remains in very good overall condition, the front bumper is original to the car, and there are two small dents noted; one on the hood and the other on the passenger side door. Detailed images can be found in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. It rides on a set of 17” "Roadstar" Style 40 wheels which come dressed in a pair of Continental ControlContact Sport SRS+ in the front, and Continental ContisportContact 5’s in the rear. All four tires show production date codes from 2017.
Inside, a pair of heated “M” sport seats are upholstered in Black Nappa leather along with matching door panels. The floors are lined with black carpeting and the leather-wrapped center console houses a suite of “M'' specific gauges. Amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, a premium Harmon Kardon sound system, and a leather-wrapped multifunction M-sport steering wheel. An Alpine amplifier has been added and is mounted in the trunk. The seller notes that the shift knob and driver's side bolster shows minimal wear, and confirms that all gauges, electronics, and accessories remain functional. An aftermarket head unit was installed by a previous owner along with an upgraded amplifier.
Power comes from an S52B32 inline-six-cylinder engine with VANOS variable valve timing which produces up to 240 HP and 236 lb-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a ZF 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Compared to the standard Z3, the M Roadster is equipped with a firmer suspension, thicker anti-roll bars, more robust semi-trailing arms, a strengthened subframe, and brakes borrowed from the E36 M3. The CARFAX report includes 16 maintenance history entries dating back as far as 2000, and the seller notes the vehicle has been serviced in preparation for this sale.

@Racer944 Yes, these areas have been inspected and no separation/ failure has been found. The trunk has been photographed and is included in the listing.
We're a BMW specialty service center and dealership that staffs a BMW master tech on hand along with the necessary diagnostic software to properly diagnose each and every BMW we sell. While no service records came with the car, our tech has performed an oil service, brake fluid flush, coolant fluid flush, and replaced both driver and passenger seat belt tensioners. It should be noted that both front tires were also replaced with newer Continentals.
