Named after the town of Modena, Enzo Ferrari’s birthplace, the Ferrari 360 is most notable for its elegant body lines and dramatic styling cues including its transparent rear engine lid displaying a naturally aspirated V8. Finished in Rosso Corsa over Beige leather upholstery, this 2000 example was configured with an optional removable sunroof panel. It is estimated that globally, there are fewer than 25 sunroof 360 Modena variants in existence, with fewer than 12 of them located in the United States. Further optioned to include Large Racing Seats with Connolly leather, red-painted brake calipers, and an F1 transmission, this 360 Modena is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Michigan with approximately 27k miles on the odometer.

The Pininfarina-designed aluminum bodywork comes finished in the classic shade of Rosso Corsa and features an optional removable sunroof panel. The equipment also includes a Challenge-style rear grille, optional red-painted brake calipers, and factory silver 18” five-spoke wheels which wear yellow Ferrari center caps and new Pirelli P-Zero tires. The seller notes slight paint imperfections along with minor damage to the right rear end on May 19, 2023, at approximately 19k miles, as shown on the CARFAX report. Additionally, a 6-hour paint correction and 2-stage polishing is said to have been performed in-house. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings.

The cabin features optional Large Racing Seats upholstered in Beige Connolly leather with matching leather extending to the lower dashboard and door panels. Additional options include a 6-disc CD changer and a passenger-side mounted fire extinguisher. Other details consist of drilled aluminum pedals, a silver center console containing the F1 transmission gear selector, and an ashtray cover with a crossed flag emblem. Very slight wear is noted on the driver’s side seat bolster, and all gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.

The mid-mounted 3.6-liter DOHC V8 engine features dry-sump lubrication and an output of 396 HP and 276 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels by way of an F1 6-speed automated manual transmission that can be left in automatic mode or manually operated with the shift paddles mounted on the steering column. The seller adds that a Capistro exhaust has been fitted. A major service is said to have been performed in March 2022 at 25,647 miles, and the seller reports the clutch to have 70% life remaining per a Ferrari dealer clutch inspection. The CARFAX report shows a total of 21 service history entries dating back to the initial delivery.

This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a toolkit, a car cover, and a battery tender.

The seller would like you to know: “For your consideration is this '00 360 Modena in traditional colors and likely 1 of 1 as built with the sunroof and large carbon fiber seats as factory options. It is fully up to date on all maintenance with all service records accounted for and ownership history documented from new. The Capistro exhaust is the only modification and sounds incredible, be sure to view the video where I demonstrate the symphony as well as an in-depth walk around.”

Like to add that the last major service done about 1,000 miles ago was done in March 2022 at Ron Tonkin Ferrari in Oregon.

  • vintiquemotors (seller) 3 months, 1 weekago

Bid with confidence in the car as well as in me as the seller.

I brought it market literally fully serviced and turnkey. The last major service was done last year roughly 1,000 miles ago and I just put new Pirelli tires on it. All the service records from new are available for review in the photos as well.

I’ve sold several Ferraris on PCar and have a great reputation on this site. No issues or worries buying from me.

Rare Bird. Seats and the discreet hole in the roof are big pluses in my book. Red on tan certainly doesn't hurt. GL

    @vintiquemotors - thanks

  • vintiquemotors (seller) 3 months, 1 weekago

@AmeliaIslander If you do a simple Google search on your own, you'll immediately find Capristro's warranty disclaimer: "Capristo guarantees its exhausts for a total period of 3 years from the date of purchase, as long as your Capristo Exhaust was purchased directly via Capristro or one of its authorized re-sellers. I do not know who the exhaust was purchased from nor when it was purchased. It came on the car.

The valved exhaust is actuated via RPM. It produces an aggressive exhaust note under acceleration and a more subdued sound for city driving.

This feature is possible using vacuum-actuated valve flaps that open and close depending on driving conditions and input from the driver. At lower engine speeds and during cruise operation the valves are closed and produce a deeper exhaust note. At wide-open throttle, the valves open releasing the full symphony of the engine.

Please watch the 18 minute walk around and driving video I took the time to put together in which I drive it at lower RPMs on the street and higher RPMs on the freeway.

  • AmeliaIslander (registered bidder) 3 months, 1 weekago

@vintiquemotors - thanks for a quick response. I forgot to ask: when is the warranty over for the Capristo? And if possible can you upload a short vid of the Capristo both with the valve on and off. Thanks again.

  • vintiquemotors (seller) 3 months, 1 weekago

@AmeliaIslander Unfortunately no paperwork relative to the repair accompanied the car’s extensive history file. The incident occurred on May 5th 2013 so 10.5 years ago under 2nd owner.

After visual inspection and paint metering its evident the damage was minimal and contained. The workmanship of the repair certainly was professionally done as there is nothing visual that would prompt one to be suspect that a prior repair was done. It’s very well done.

The exhaust is the valved version.

  • AmeliaIslander (registered bidder) 3 months, 1 weekago

Any paperwork about the rear end accident? Going by the paint meter readings looks like it was the right rear that was repainted. Also, is the Capristo valved or not?

  • vintiquemotors (seller) 3 months, 2 weeksago

@Jonathanhuynh No check engine light is on. It was professionally installed and calibrated by Ron Tonkin Ferrari. Receipt is in the gallery.

It is literally turn key. I brought it to market fully serviced. Major service done last year and just put brand new Pirellis on it. All service records from new are in the gallery organized by date starting at the earliest which also corroborates the mileage increments.

  • Jonathanhuynh (registered bidder) 3 months, 2 weeksago

    @vintiquemotors With the CAT
Does the Check Engine Light came On ?

  • vintiquemotors (seller) 3 months, 2 weeksago

@Jonathanhuynh I’m aware of CA emissions and the cats do come with the car but it will be incumbent upon you or your chosen shop to install them.

  • Jonathanhuynh (registered bidder) 3 months, 2 weeksago

If I purchased this car. Could you re-install the CAT.
Here in California they required CAT for Smog test..

  • Stevester954 (registered bidder) 3 months, 2 weeksago

Owned a OEM sunroof 360. What I really like is the roof is leather and will not sag like most with the cloth.

  • vintiquemotors (seller) 3 months, 2 weeksago

Accompanying the car are the original books and manuals, one original key with working alarm system fob, the original tire inflator kit, the comprehensive service file, the original catalytic converts, two Ferrari oil filters, aftermarket metal Scuderia shields, and a car cover with the Ferrari logo.

This is an incredible opportunity to acquire a well looked after 360 with very rare option content in classic Ferrari colors.

  • vintiquemotors (seller) 3 months, 2 weeksago

  • vintiquemotors (seller) 3 months, 2 weeksago

@vintiquemotors I misspoke in my previous comment stating it is optioned with the leather rear shelf and side moldings. It is not.

Per the window sticker it is optioned with:
    1. Red painted brake calipers for $623
    2. 6-disc CD changer for $0
    3. Onboard fire extinguisher for $501
    4. Large racing seats with Connolly leather for $4,011
    5. Painted sunroof for $3,395

    Total original MSRP was $156,255.

  • vintiquemotors (seller) 3 months, 2 weeksago

This 360 is finished in traditional colors of Rosso Corsa over a tan leather interior and is uniquely optioned with two extremely rare and desirable options being the painted removable top and the leather covered carbon fiber racing seats.

Per my online research, Ferrari reportedly produced 8,800 360 Modena’s globally in which 1,810 were U.S. spec versions. Of these 8,800, just 25 were optioned with the painted removable top in which just 12 of these were U.S. spec cars.

Additional options and features included the F1 transmission, leather headliner, leather rear shelf and side moldings, red painted brake calipers, battery charger wiring, and an onboard fire extinguisher.

The only known deviations from stock are a challenge rear grille and a Capristo performance exhaust.

  • vintiquemotors (seller) 3 months, 2 weeksago

First a little history on the model:

Ferrari offered the 360 starting in 1999 offering it through 2005 as both a Modena (coupe) and a Spider (convertible) in which the Modena name was used as a homage to the birthplace of Enzo Ferrari in Modena, Italy.

All 360’s received a rear-mounted longitudinal 90 degree 3.6L V8 engine that featured a flat-plane crank, titanium connecting rods, and a 11:1 compression ratio. It was rated at 400 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and 275 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,750 rpm. Transmissions choices were either a traditional gated 6-speed manual or a “F1” single clutch automated manual with paddle shifters.

The 360’s design was penned by legendary Italian design firm Pininfarina in which the design language deviated from previous decade’s sharp angles and flip-up headlights giving the car a more round and svelte appearance.

Alcoa was retained to produce an entirely new all-aluminum space-frame chassis that was reportedly 40% stiffer than the F355, which utilized steel, and was 28% lighter despite a 10% increase in overall dimensions.
