Introduced in 1999, the Ferrari 360 Modena welcomed a new era of Pininfarina-designed styling as well as technology derived from Ferrari’s legendary Formula One racing team. This 2000 example is presented in the quintessential color combination of Rosso Corsa over tan leather and features desirable equipment including Daytona-style seats and Challenge-style wheels. The car was factory optioned with a 6-speed F1 automated manual gearbox which was converted to a traditional 6-speed gated manual by the specialists at EAG in Texas between 2019 and 2020. Also benefitting from previous engine-out service and the recent replacement of the timing belts, this 360 Modena is now being offered for auction by its owner out of Minnesota while showing approximately 18k miles on the odometer.

The Pininfarina-designed bodywork is made from aluminum and factory-finished in the iconic Ferrari color of Rosso Corsa. Details include a transparent vented engine cover, an F1-inspired rear diffuser, polished quad exhaust outlets, optional Scuderia front fender shields, a factory Challenge-style rear grille, and OEM 18” BBS Challenge-style wheels. The seller notes a screw-less Fabspeed front license plate holder has been installed to preserve the front bumper and new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires were mounted in 2022. Additionally, the car is said to have always been kept in a climate-controlled garage and was never driven during the winter months by the current owner. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

Inside, tan leather upholstery covers the Daytona-style electric sport seats as well as the door panels, lower dashboard, rear shelf, and headliner. The driver is provided with a traditional gated shifter assembly including a polished aluminum gear knob along with a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, automatic climate control, power windows and mirrors, a factory stereo system, and a digital clock on the overhead console. Other details include drilled aluminum pedals and passenger footrest, stainless Ferrari-branded door sills, and black carpet floor mats. The seller indicates the original CD changer has been disconnected in place of an aftermarket Bluetooth receiver which works in conjunction with the factory radio controls. A few minor imperfections are noted inside the car and the seller notes the common “sticky buttons” issue was remedied by a previous owner.

As much as 395 HP comes from a naturally aspirated Tipo F131 V8 engine featuring a flat-plane crankshaft, dry-sump lubrication, quad overhead camshafts, and 5 valves-per-cylinder. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission which was converted from the original F1 gearbox using OEM parts by EAG in Texas between September 2019 and December 2020. The seller notes a major engine out service and clutch replacement was completed shortly before their purchase by FMS Ferrari of Arizona in 2017. During the current ownership, service was completed in 2021 including new OEM ignition coils, mass airflow sensors, pre-cat O2 sensors, and new OEM brake rotors as well as Ferodo DS Performance brake pads. In 2022, another major service was performed by a trusted local specialist including new timing belts. Corresponding maintenance records will accompany the sale.

This sale will include the original tan carpet floor mats, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a car cover, a battery charger, some maintenance documentation, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction. I've owned this car since 2017. Earlier in 2017, a full engine out service was performed by Andy Falbo of FMS Ferrari in Arizona.  A new clutch was fitted at that time.  The car has since been maintained by a well-known local Indy Ferrari mechanic.  Full service including belts was performed in March 2022.  Brand new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires fitted in April 2022.  The manual conversion performed by EAG using OEM parts (except for clutch pedal and shift gate)”

@eurocol This is an example of a Ferrari dealer not necessarily understanding older Ferraris. Air inadvertently got into the lines from a brake bleed, which I asked the dealer to remedy, since the car was going to be there anyways. They rebled the brakes, which didn't entirely solve the problem. They then wanted to start throwing parts at the problem. It is commonly understood in the Ferrari community that the brake master cylinder also must be bled in the 360, especially after getting air in the lines. I got the car home and bled the brake master cylinder. I then rebled the brakes and the master cylinder again. The brakes are now back to normal.

    @kes7u2004
    one quick point,
in picture # 96 of the last service bill, it mentions soft brake pedal, squeaky brakes and a vacuum leak in the brake booster,
    which was not addressed.
I'm assuming a new brake booster and softer pads would cure that.
Can you please comment on the cost they quoted for this repair?
    Thanks.

@kes7u2004 how did you get the shift gate with the cavallino on it? That’s sweet. You don’t see that on very many 6speed conversions. Congrats!

    Understand,
I suffer from the same affliction.

  • kes7u2004 (seller) 10 months, 2 weeksago

@eurocol This was just a toy car for me, and this is how much I've always driven my toy cars, unfortunately. The driving season is not long here in MN. Additionally, I've always preferred to take the car out for pleasure drives and return home rather then taking it and parking anywhere. Just more comfortable that way. I've always been this way with my 'toy' cars, and I suppose I always will.

  • eurocol (registered bidder) 10 months, 2 weeksago

Beautiful car with lots of of goodies, after spending so much money, why was it not driven more and now up for sale.

  • kes7u2004 (seller) 10 months, 2 weeksago

@LastMezger Yes! Something about the 360 just'feels' right with a manual. Like it was meant to be that way from the start. The perfect union!!!

  • LastMezger (registered bidder) 10 months, 2 weeksago

@jbauto I agree about the 360's performance. I had a 360 6spd and then a 430 6spd. If anything the 360 "feels" faster...it's just more raw. It also feels lighter and more nimble. Really it's the best of analogue feel and sound but modern build and reliability. Really loved it.

@jbauto Thank you! Yes, a beautiful and very fun car. And wonderful sound even with the standard exhaust system.

  • kes7u2004 (seller) 10 months, 2 weeksago

@Carcurious1 @Carcurious1. I see absolutely no reason it shouldn't. The headers, cats and remainder of the exhaust are the stock units. Thank you for your interest!

  • Carcurious1 10 months, 2 weeksago

Will the car pass CA smog?

  • jbauto (registered bidder) 10 months, 2 weeksago

Looks great. These cars are pretty fast. I wouldn't bother looking at 430's. GL
