Providing all-wheel-drive performance and naturally aspirated flat-six power, the 996 Carrera 4 Coupe debuted in 1998 with Porsche’s first-generation water-cooled engine. This 2000 example comes finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over Space Grey partial leather upholstery. Benefitting from a transmission replacement along with a recent inspection, this Carrera 4 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Minnesota with less than 91k miles on the odometer.
This Carrera 4 is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic and is identical in appearance to its rear-wheel-drive 996 counterpart save for its titanium-colored rear model logo and titanium-painted brake calipers. It rides on factory 18" Carrera wheels dressed in new Continental DWS06 tires. The seller adds that paint protection film has been applied along the front end although it shows signs of age. Some paint imperfections are noted especially on the lower rockers and edge of the driver-side door, and some scuffs are present on the underside of the front bumper. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin presents Space Grey partial leather upholstery and matching carpets. Equipment includes 8-way power-operated seats with driver-side memory functions and a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel. The seller notes some scuffs on the hood and trunk releases, the driver aside vanity mirror cover is broken on one side, and the stereo is inoperable however a replace head unit is on order.
This first-generation 996 is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine that sends as much as 296 HP and 258 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a replacement 6-speed manual transmission. The seller adds that a full inspection was carried out which also prompted the replacement of the front struts, front control arms, bank 1-3 cam solenoids, valve cover gasket, and bank 1-3 spark plug tube gaskets, and refreshments of the engine oil, transmission oil, and front differential oil. No outstanding maintenance items have been reported.
This sale will include a clean title (lien).
The seller would like you to know: “I am an avid Porsche owner and collector... know these cars well. I own a shop and we work on them quite frequently. This car came from an owner who has had it for the last 60K miles and 17 years. It's a VERY well maintained and lovingly cared for vehicle that just needs a new home.”

Hey guys!
It’s the final day, last few hours… I will be on standby to answer any questions should you have any.
Cyber Monday deals, right!?!? Good luck to all bidders!
@johndingk2 I tried to do my best to take good shots of the headliner but it’s actually just shadows. It’s very clean and no sagging.
Is the headliner and sunroof grubby or am I just seeing that incorrectly?
Bid in the amount of $10,500
@karq correct, trans replaced but not the clutch, as it was previously done and looked very new. IMs was done but not rms bc it was not needed. I was told that the clutch was done last year, not many miles ago at all. And it certainly appeared as such. My tech said the clutch looked brand new.
The tranny was replaced, there is no mention of a new clutch kit, was that also updated with 90K on the car? Was the RMS included with IMS service?
@racecarrobbie Hello, no paint work as far as I’m aware. It shows its “age” and I don’t see any orange peel type surfaces … so that leads me to believe it’s all original.
Has anything been re-painted?

Hello fellow Pcar Members. Thank you for viewing my auction here and I am wishing all those who bid, the best!!!
Just some quick history on the car, but I bought it towards end of summer from the last owner who had owned it since late 2006. It was in good condition but it had a howling transmission and a couple of other small issues. I own a European Performance and Repair shop so I had my guys go over it top to bottom and make it front line ready for sale. Very top level, this is what we did:
- IMS Bearing
- Refurb transmission (I have a video of the old one in the car, driving and going thru the gears to prove it worked fine)
- Front struts and control arms
- New Continental DWS 06 tires
- Fresh oil trans and front diff fluid
- New stereo head unit. (Old one inop when i bought)
- Cam solenoid in driver bank (Req'd valve cover and spark tube removal and reseal)
*** I will include the receipts of the work I have completed in the picture gallery. Just need to wrap up the billing and I will have it.
The car drives like a dream and its turn key ready to go to a new home. I have no reservations in this 911 to drive cross country, but, should you want to transport, I am happy to help assist in arranging the transport.
I am usually quite active on my auctions so if you have any questions, please feel free to message me here or email option and I would be happy to answer any questions.
Wish all the best here and hoping she goes to a new home!
@Razor1964: IMS bearing was completed just last week. Registered in my name. It was a dual roller kit. Any specific questions about it? Buyer will get the paperwork but for it.
Hi there; any info in regards to the IMS correction? Let us know!
