In 2000, Porsche celebrated a new era with the special 911 Carrera 4 Millennium Edition. Limited to 911 examples produced in total, the Millennium Edition wears unique Violet Chromaflair paint and a Brown Natural Leather interior with Dark Maple wood veneers and aluminum-look instrument dials. It also came standard with a 10mm lowered sports suspension, 18” 911 Turbo-Look wheels, polished badging, and an individual production number inscribed on a special limitation plaque. This particular example, #434/911, was acquired by the current owner in August of 2022 and is now being offered for auction out of North Carolina while showing approximately 75k miles on the odometer.

The Millennium Edition is defined by its unique Violet Chromaflair paint which appears to shift hues depending on light exposure. Other details include a highly polished rear “911” model designation, chrome tailpipes, a rear window wiper, a sunroof, Litronic headlamps, and polished 18” 911 Turbo-Look alloy wheels. The car rides on Continental tires showing date codes from 2018 and 2019, and the seller notes minor signs of road-going wear to the exterior. The CARFAX report also shows minor damage to have occurred in 2018 and in 2019. Additional images are provided in the gallery.

Inside, this 996 features Brown Natural Leather upholstery complemented by a Black Alcantara headliner and Dark Maple wood trim on the steering wheel, inner handles, door pocket covers, gear lever, and parking brake handle. The Millennium Edition also highlights aluminum-look instrument dials, “911” script door sills, heated electrically adjustable seats, and a serialized limitation plaque affixed to the center console. Additional equipment includes a HiFi sound system, a trunk-mounted CD changer, and Porsche Communication Management including a cassette player and navigation. The seller notes the burl wood veneers were refinished under prior ownership.

A naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine sends up to 296 HP and 258 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. The seller states the service records are available dating back to 2014 and an LN Engineering IMS bearing was installed along with a new rear main seal at 47k miles.

This sale will include some documentation, owner’s manuals, and a clean title.

The original wheels are on the vehicle. However, as the paper-thin chrome was peeling off, the wheel restoration company could not duplicate the chrome. At that time we decided to strip the remaining chrome and powder coat the original wheels to a turbo twist silver color. (From records of previous owner)

@jeffnra - what happened to the chrome 18" wheels? While not all like, that was a unique feature of this edition.

Craft Custom did the woodwork for the previous owner

Tangential question. Do you know who refinished the walnut veneers?

  • jeffnra (seller) 1 year, 4 monthsago

We have both. The PCar rep is in the process of getting them from the photographer and we'll have them loaded asap.

Beautiful car! Any cold start videos or driving videos?

I know this car well and have driven it, as Jeff, the owner,, is a good friend of mine. The car is in great shape. I and another close gearhead friend are responsible for coaching him to buy this 911 last year. I know 911's and have owned and wrenched on 5 of them from early air cooled ones to water cooled ones. I presently own a 1999 996.1 and a 2009 997.2 so I knew this was a great car for Jeff to buy. I was hoping he would keep it, but he does not use it much and it takes up space in his garage. The new owner will be getting a great car in great shape!

This is a great car and I hate to sell it. As I have started the retirement process I found myself spending more time away from home and just not driving the car enough. This car is like a beast that does not need to be caged up it needs to get out and run on a regular basis and I just wasn't doing that.
