This 2000 Porsche 996 Carrera Cabriolet came factory-finished in Mirage Metallic over a black partial leather interior and is optioned with a Tiptronic S automatic transmission, power seats with lumbar support, Litronic headlights, and stainless steel exhaust pipes. It has been tastefully modified with a TechArt Mirage Metallic fixed rear spoiler, TechArt sport springs, TechArt silver instrument face plates, a body-colored center console, and 3-piece Speeline wheels. Accompanied by extensive documentation including a 2021 engine-out invoice with an LN Engineering IMS bearing solution and much more, this 996 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Ohio showing less than 43k miles on the odometer.

This 996 is finished in a rare Mirage Metallic with a black convertible soft top. It has been modified with a TechArt fixed rear whale tail spoiler finished in Mirage Metallic and 3-piece Speedline wheels dressed in Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires (2022). The Speedline wheels are said to have been freshly refurbished with polished aluminum rims, gold-plated hardware, and silver Speedline center caps. Other exterior details include optional Litronic bi-xenon headlights with washers and optional stainless steel exhaust pipes. The seller notes cosmetic blemishes including rock chips primarily on the front bumper, some scrapes on the underside of the front bumper, and scrapes and possible paintwork on the passenger side rocker panel. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report.

The cabin is upholstered in black partial leather and came from the factory optioned with power seats with lumbar support, the Digital Sound Package, a 3-spoke leather steering wheel, Porsche Communication Management, a remote CD changer, black mats with Porsche lettering, and a carbon/aluminum Tiptronic gear selector and parking brake handle. The seller adds that TechArt silver instrument face plates and a body-colored center console have been added. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.

This 996 is powered by a water-cooled naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine that produces up to 296 HP and 258 lb.-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels through a 5-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission that allows for manual gear changes using the shift buttons on the steering wheel. Stopping power comes from fixed 4-piston ventilated disc brakes and the car is rated at a 0-60 MPH time of approximately 6 seconds with a top speed of over 170 MPH. Additionally, it has been fitted with aftermarket TechArt sport springs for improved handling and a more aggressive stance. The seller reports that all services and preventive maintenance are up to date, with a $5k December 2021 invoice including an LN Engineering IMS bearing solution, a Porschetech3 Ultimate air oil separator, an automatic transmission service with a rear differential fluid change, a new water pump, new spark plugs, new ignition coils, a new coolant reservoir, and more.

This sale will include a clean title, tool kit, window sticker, spare tire, car cover, owner’s manuals, and extensive documentation.

The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction.  I have owned this car for over 2 years.  I know the vehicle's history since the original owner, and it has been garage-kept it's entire life.  It's seen some rain, but never any snow, or harsh conditions whatsoever. All services, including preventative maintenance, such as the LN IMS Solution, Water Pump, Coolant Reservoir, Ultimate Air Oil Separator (UAOS), and EVERYTHING ELSE is up to date. "

I'd like to thank everyone for your positive comments and bids. Unfortunately, we are no where near a very reasonable reserve. Guess I'll be driving her this Fall with the top down :) Thanks again!

I have a 2000 coupe TIP with 56K miles and love it. Someone going to steal this well cared for cab? I'm hoping there is a fair reserve on this.

I've seen this car in person a couple of times and it's super clean and owned by a knowledgeable Porsche guy who belongs to a knowledgeable Porsche group. Pretty color combo with cool wheels. Joel GLWS.

I also want to let you know one of the front brake rotors pulses slightly when braking. It's not bad at all, but you'll notice it when braking. I planned to replace the fronts next Spring. Also, the dash's driver & passenger side plastic HVAC vent slats are loose, but still work, and the silver paint on the front hatch release lever near the driver door is marred from dragging a foot over top when getting out of the car. The lever itself is fine and functions properly. You can see both of these minor issues in the picture gallery.

I don't like surprises, big or small, when buying a car so I want to be transparent when selling a car. Let me know if anyone has any further questions!

@Woodrm64 Thank you for your bids and that's a good question. The previous owner tried to clean the screen with some kind of solvent and when he wiped it left the screen looking like it does. The readout is still legible and all the functions work, except the CD Changer was inoperative and has been removed (that's where I keep the Owners Manual). Fortunately, the cassette tape player was like new / never been used. It's been used a lot since then because I still have cassette tapes from back in the day - works flawlessly. A cassette head cleaner tape is included with the car .

Curious about the scratches on the radio screen in the center of the dash above the CD player slot?

Me too! It's rated "4 Paint Cans" on Rennbow.

  • checkmate1996 (registered bidder) 7 months, 3 weeksago

I know the car and the owner. Needless to say it’s been pampered! Good luck with auction!

  • buccicone (registered bidder) 7 months, 3 weeksago

    Love that color!

  • JBRob007 (seller) 7 months, 3 weeksago

@Woodrm64 Thank you! It's a very nice example and the color is not the standard black, white, red, or silver (not that there's anything wrong with that). The Mirage Metallic exterior & matching center console contrasts nicely with the black leather interior & the whale tail spoiler combined with the polished Speedline wheels definitely sets it apart from most examples. It's also spotless with a long list of preventative maintenance. I'm pretty excited to see how this goes as well.

Great looking car! Will be interesting to see how much this goes for. Good luck with the auction!

Hello everyone and WELCOME to the auction of my 2000 911 Cabriolet. This is a gorgeous example with less than 43K miles, dressed in rarely seen original Mirage Metallic paint (4 paint cans on Rennbow) which appears to change shades from light gold to platinum to silver depending upon the light (morning, afternoon, evening, indoors, etc). The TechArt fixed whale tail in body color provides down force while accentuating the car's lines, the lowering springs further improve the stance & already fantastic handling while delivering a surprisingly smooth ride, and the freshly refurbished 3-Part Speedline wheels with brightly polished aluminum rims & 24K gold plated assembly bolts catch the sun and the spectator's eye. The Tiptronic-S Five Speed transmission is quick & responsive to inputs and is just a blast to drive in "Manual" shifting through the gears without your hands ever leaving the steering wheel. The interior is a 9 out of 10 (unusual for a 23 year old 996 interior), the headlights are clear & the rock chip free side mirrors look brand new. Everything functions as it should, although the inoperative CD Changer is removed and the driver side headlight washer nozzle went missing. All routine & preventative maintenance is up to date including an LN Engineering IMSB Solution, the Porschetech3 Ultimate Air Oil Separator (UAOS), a full transmission service and so much more... Please take your time viewing all the maintenance records, receipts, and tons of pictures / videos. I will be here for any questions you may have so please ask away and happy bidding!
